BB58 is still the one for me. Perfect dimensions, weight and colour scheme. Could easily be the only watch you need, dressed up or down, it works!

I absolutely love the look of this Pelagos 39! I’m not into titanium and the resulting lack of weight and the 21mm lug width is a bit of an odd choice but even that wouldn’t put me off. The tough tooly vibe, the size, the adjustable clasp! If I was in the market for a Tudor diver, this would be the one. Really special show this week MWC! Great pacing and flow 👏👏👏👏

As a BB58 and Pelagos LHD owner I struggled with this release.....this P39 is the love child of those 2 watches..... beautiful.....but I'll stick with my LHD and BB58 for now.

I was lucky enough to get a call from my AD on Christmas eve for this masterpiece. It's a joy to wear, and getting hold of it before the 10% new year price hike makes it even sweeter.

I can see one of these in my future. I like my BB a lot but I've often thought a Pelagos would have been a better fit for me. The dial layout is so nice. Titanium can be a shocker the first time you wear one. I have a Casio Oceanus in full Titanium. I thought the box was empty when I received it. No pelicans were harmed while making this video! 🤣

Finally got mine a few days back and it's not been off my wrist since. It is a fantastic looking watch and that titanium feels lovely. The fit and finish is superb and to say I am happy with my purchase is an understatement.

I tried pelagos39 yesterday in a Tudor AD tho they claimed the particular piece is their display item... I got out with a BB58 gilt. I found the colors of BB very heart warming as opposed to the extreme tool watchiness of pelagos. After negotiating the price I paid $1k less for the BB than what they ask for the pelagos after tax. Overall I am a happily shopped person today.

Great video, totally agree with everything you said. The Pelagos 39 is an incredible timepiece.

I own the Pelagos 39, and was going to get a BB58 before the Pelagos was announced, but I saw it and instantly knew this was much more me. I think though they that while the Pelagos 39 is better for me, the BB58 exudes a warmth and charm the Pelagos lacks, but the Pelagos is cooler, better bracelet, more modern and tooley. Titanium also scratches more noticeably than stainless steel, but I still love the duller hue and light weight. For me it’s horses for courses, both are stunning watches and some will suit one and some will suit others. I’d love to be able to afford both.

It’s my everyday tool watch, replacing my Rolex explorer 39(full lume) & Rolex DS 16600 & 116600. This 39 Pelagos is phenomenal!

"It doesn't feel big, it just looks big!" One of my wife's comments there.. I really like this watch, I've got my eye on the 42mm though.

My blue BB58 is on its way to its new owner as I type this. As always I agree with your wifes review.The specs and materials are top notch and the bracelet made out of titanium and on the fly adjustable is amazing. To be honest the price for what you get is hard to complain about. It does look a little boring/generic at first glance but it is like a piece of art the longer and closer you look at it the more you see and appreciate.

Stunning watch but love my 42mm version more ! I think you need a Pelagos and a BB58 personally, but perhaps the BB Chrono panda 😁

Often when I snorkel in my bathtub talking with a fake French accent pretending I am Jacque Cousteau undersea explorer I wish I did have a 500m diver easy to read with an helium escape valve ... especially when I reach the depths ... a.k.a. when I use the Clapper to turn the lights out in the bathroom. ... behold the pelicanagos in his natural habitat!!! 🦆 (what??? They didn't have a Pelican emoji ... so you have to settle for the lucky mallad).

I own the Pelagos 42 black. Love this watch, he runs - 1 sec on back and when I leave it crown down it gains +1, so basically I can keep him within ~~ 0 sec a day making it almost dead accurate. Awesome watch with no bling, toolish watch.

More great work from the MWC..... Good Lord - I already own several Tudors and really did not want to purchase another one... But I have had my eyes on this watch for some time and now that MWC has endorsed - I find myself in a real pickle... Dang it MWC - now I need to consider selling some of my current Black Bay variations and take a hard look at this watch. I just cannot justify buying another Tudor unless I sell off a few. I absolutely love your videos. So much fun, it's like a Fast Show of watch reviews. Comparing the weight of this watch to an average to small sized egg was a particular highlight for me, as was a pelican. Just purchased this watch today and your video was a small but important part of that decision (If it turns out to be rubbish though I'll stuff your pelican). One word - Perfect! If I had the money, I would have one like a shot. This is straight into my top watch slot. Can I ask Russell, it seems most watch reviewers when doing the biz on divers always say that so few owners actually go diving with them (True for sure) so get rid of the divers extension..? Why? I feel sure if it wasn't there they would comment, that its a diver missing its extension.. Really looking forward to your comparison with your BB58 next week!

I love the enthusiasm! I think it is a watch the camera doesn’t do justice for. You really have to experience it in person. I would rather go for bb58. As much as I appreciate the symmetry of the dial, I would miss the date complication. Fab review though!

Cracking stuff as usual! Ironically sold my Smurf 42 because i just wasn’t feeling the vintage vibes plus i found the clasp quite sharp and overall felt like a piece of Lego on my wrist 🤣. But this 39 definitely shows some submariner strengths to it…

Nice and entertaining video as usual! I heard that Tudor listens to its customers’ feedback, so I wonder if it is worth holding out a while in case Tudor refines this model by shortening the clasp and putting in a 20mm lug width?

nice vid. my concern is that its too light, and it sounds like it is... looking forward to the next vid. Also, i would be interested in your thoughts on this commpared to the Sinn. As the sinn bead blasted steel looks like titanium

Got my 39 a couple of months ago and love it (thankfully before the price hike), actually just traded in my 5 digit Sub as the 39 really fits all my needs. Yes the 21mm lugs are a bit of PITA but I have a 21mm Bond NATO in the watch box on stand by for when I feel the need for a strap swap. My only nit picky gripe that you didn't mention is the case back is a bit of a scratch magnet (the Ti clasp mars it up quite easy). As for the 39 vs the 58 , I think they are different enough that you could own both or if having to pick , it would just be the style a person prefers.

I now have two titanium watches - a GS snowflake and a citizen solar tool watch. Certainly lightness is a bit off-putting at first but after a few months you come to appreciate how it ‘disappears’ on your wrist.

I have the Bb58 in Blue and I plan to add the Pelagos 39 at some point... future money permitting

Oh Russell what are you doing!!!! A great review of the Pelagos but I've only had my gorgeous blue BB58 for 5 months and I can't justify having both. I need to go try the Pelagos on and then slowly turn into a gibbering wreck as I try to decide which of the two I want the most

After trying one on in the AD I really struggle with this one. I’m lucky enough to own a 58 and a Sub ND, for me the 58 is much, much more visually interesting and I still put it on and go ‘wow’. And the Sub is the Sub, unbeatable really. So for me the P39 doesn’t have a place in the watch box, for now anyway. Great video as always Russ, cheers mate 👊🏻

Got one just before Christmas, absolutely fantastic, I love it

Really love your videos! They are all highly entertaining, and accurately informative. I will certainly buy this watch if this is my first watch. But I have multiple watches with black dial, and multiple diver watches without date including the BB58 blue and BB41 blue bezel. So my next new watch is going to be non-black dial, and with date. So I'm giving this P39 watch a pass.

You nailed it - it’s the attainable Sub. Works in dress and sporty environments. And about $5k cheaper. And it comes w a rubber strap - assume your friend didn’t send it - so the 21mm isn’t a big deal So I have a 3 Tudor rotation - 39, BB Pro and BB GMT Opaline. My microbrand divers aren’t getting much wrist time anymore.

The BB58 and P39 look and feel so different that I think a collection is fine to have both.

Great show. Titanium is great, I have a 41mm automatic chronograph that weighs 77 grams, strap included. I can't tell I'm wearing a watch half the time. I wish Tudor had used grade 5 titanium, an alloy that's more scratch resistant, in case you're bitten by a shark, or rather, hit a door frame while desk diving.

Oh yes, WINNER 🏆 Who needs a Sub when you can have this awesome 39 Pelagos. I love it, and it is at the top of my list now Russ. Looking forward to your comparison against your Blackbay, but my money is on this 39 Pelagos! Thank you mate and be well.

But as you already own a Tudor BB58, id be tempted to add a (no date) Submariner instead to ensure more differentiation in style/quality between the two. Just my thoughts. Ps. I have a black/gilt BB58 and a blue Pelagos. I might be in the market for a Pelagos 39, if, it had the blue dial/bezel of it's bigger brother, and 20mm lugs.

My 1990 16710 weighs 111g. It makes my BB 58 feel unnecessarily heavy and clunky. I’m dying to get the Pelagos 39 on wrist! I Love a watch that melts into your wrist to the extent you could forget you’re wearing it until you need to check the time

I metaphorically shrug thinking 'just another samey looking dive watch'. It does look lovely but thinking of watches you've had on the channel, it's ones like the Vertex M100 or the chiming CW that get a Wow from me as something a bit different.

Have the big boy model and prefer it. Do you get a rubber strap with it, why does it have 21 lug width and why is the clasp worse than the 42? Also the 42 wears like a 40 and that 3D rehaut looks great (well I think so) keep the BB58, it’s a better looking piece Ooooh, right on ones high horse. Great show as always 👍

They could have easily called this the BB58 titanium. It really is more like a BB58 rather then the larger Pelagos. Oh yes, I will definitely be keeping my BB58 blue, I’m not tempted at all.
