passed my exam today. feels so good to say after seeing all the other comments of people passing it too but now i can say it too! i failed my first time and studied for months (writing over 500 notecards trying to memorize every little thing) but my last week of studying i ditched them binge watched his videos and took notes and i think it helped me more then all those notecards. not everything he goes over will be on the test but listening to him will help you because somethings are just related GOOD LUCK 💗
Hello Steve Most of my working career I was practising and maintaining disinfection machines. As I recently did a career-move as an inspector/validator for auto-clave in medical and lab environment, your socalled "ground-school" basics helped me out a lot to understand the things going on with sterilisation and its process. I like to thank you for the entertaining and learning this channel provide me for doing my daily job even better.
I hope one day you will launch online courses to teach about sterilization and other topics, so more people around the world will be able to benefit from the good quality of classes at this prestigious institution👏🏼
I’m currently enrolled in a course and watching your videos. You are a great teacher if you had an online class I would of taken it.. I’ll be reviewing more of you content once I reach those sections .
I recently got accepted in the Sterile Processing Program! Watching this video and others prior to college starting will be so beneficial. Thank you for your teaching! I hope your still teaching as this video was back in 2014.
Thanks dear for all the information regarding disinfection sterilization. I'm working for GETINGE group in Saudi Arabia. Your lectures are very useful for after installation basic user trainings. I'm an Installation and service Engineer for GETINGE sterilizers, washers and whole range of CSSD Equipment.
Hi Steve, thanks very much for your Educative videos, I used to watch them, and they helped me very much to pass both CBSPD and HAAD Exams.I advice students keep watch these videos, they will help you pass yr exams. Am so grearfull. God bless you Steve 👍👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏🙏
I am HOPEFUL when my turn comes I will pass as well. I did noticed someone said the 🎥 are from 2018. This is 2022 I will start my classes in Feb with the HELP of THE LORD. My question to you since the book's edition is not the same certain years. Will one still benefit from the video with an 8th edition book? What edition did you work out of? I look forward to your response. THANK YOU in ADVANCE.
Im watching all his videos on sterile Processing. My crcst exam is tomorrow and I have to say after watching these im feeling a lot more confident since im applying based on work experience and I didnt go to school for it
great lectures. I am finishing up the class through Purdue. Reviewing before I attempt the final exam. So much to know. You are very helpful thank you so much.
Come back on and let... know the outcome? Also, I started looking at Steve videos in Oct. You are right about its a lot to know. I LIKE to believe since I was proactive doing that. I wouldn't think the same way. I WISH YOU WELL. HOLD ON STAY POSITIVE and COMMITTED to YOUR STUDIES. Also, 🙏 GOD DEPOSIT in my spirit to go online in Oct. I WILL NOT take the CREDIT for being proactive, or jumpstarting to study, review and memorize before I start. BE ENCOURAGE.
Just have to say Thankyou so much for making these videos as I am not the reading kind of person I am good when someone teaches me some thing or listening to some thing to learn it and maybe it’s just me and how I learn but I really do appreciate your videos I’ve been a sterile technician for eight years at Stony Brook Hospital in New York and I was grandfathered in as a technician before they made it law to be certified I am going to take my test to be certifiedAnd I just wanna say I appreciate your videos for me to learn in a better way than reading the book although I still have to read the book I know but I feel like I am learning it better watching your video but in a shorter way just want to say thank you very much greatly appreciate it
People follow this RU-vid channel I learned more here, and I passed my exam yesterday it was difficult the way they ask the questions but I did it thanks to watching these videos
I’m taking SP in school and we watched him for about an hour the other day. I’ve been studying like a maniac and this guy presents all the info so well. An extra study guide is always welcome! HLD for the win! CONGRATS on passing! 🎉
@@Whalebarf79 absolutely I understood more by watching his videos over and over again and his videos was100%the reason why I passed my exam and became certified I am working in a SPD at a hospital and I got certified in March Im still learning this job you will always continue to learn new and different things I also still do proprofs app on my phone to always keep up with the knowledge of Sterile processing
Hi Steve, I am from Canada and I love all the videos you have done. Your explanation makes things so much easier to comprehend. I am taking an online course, so this helps so much. Thank you!
At the moment I am taking the Medical Device Reprocessing Program online and it is a little bit tough. So, hearing you speak about it and explain everything has really help me grasp these concepts. Thank you again :)
Hi Steve, I sent you a message earlier not sure if it went thru. Anyway, i am curious the book you are using for the class. I used the basic sterile processing 5th edition and i already passed my certification exam. I am just wondering if you also have a dvd of all the chapters you discussed out of that book you are using and if i can purchased them. I really like your style of teaching and explanation. Also i have two externship coming up one from VA hospital and one from ambulatory outpatient surgery center. I am battling and weighing the two which one i should get or accept if VA hospital of San Francisco or the outpatient ambulatory surgery center. I did write a comparison between the two pros and cons. Just wondering what is you thought or suggestion if you are in my position. I really would like to hear from you.
Hi ron c he is using 7th edition. Mostly outpatient surgery is more easy job then going to a big hosp.but you can See all kinds of instruments out there.
The book used in this class was iahcsmm crcst manual 7th edition. It is now HSPA 9th edition but the information did not change. Thank you for the feedback.
Good morning it's 2:26AM Tuesday Nov 15th I am following up on your Disinfection video. I noticed you like Vitamin Water. Considering your knowledge and expertise in your videos. What was your determination and research in choosing the V.Water? Before I end I am from Philadelphia. I watch your various videos repeatedly on Sterilization, Decontamination, Skeletal System basically IAHCCSMM. Thank you for taking the time for what you do. It is NOT in vain. I was elated to see you respond to my previous comment. Until next time Be CAREFUL. Be SAFE. STAY WISE.
I don't consume vitamin water or any substances that contain sugar. I stopped doing that 3 years ago and my health improved drastically. I stick to RO water with minerals added. Lots of tea with lemon
Now that this Coronavirus is around we are all learning in this world about how to disinfect I am so glad I came across this video thank you for such a detailed explanation I have enough isopropyl alcohol to disinfect my home and I also have bleach would you be able to tell me a good formula with bleach so I can disinfect my home how much bleach in a spray bottle do I combine it with clean water or tap please ?
Thank you for reaching out. Though my specialty is not in disinfection of homes, I can tell you not to mix anything with bleach except water. Bleach is very tricky and make cause a chemical reaction with negative outcomes for your health. Second, alcohol is pretty useless as a disinfectant and may ruin your furniture and has pretty harmful fumes for people with asthma and COPD. There are excellent disinfectants out there on the market especially at the Restaurant Depot. They are identical to hospital grade disinfectants and are half the price at about $25 per gallon and dilutes 18/1 . I suggest you look there.
I'm not studying to be into the medical field, but all these topics interest me highly. I'm already 25 and feel that getting into this field is too late, since I studied something else already :( Kind of regret doubting myself and not going into the medical field. By the way...this instructor is AWESOME!!! He's so damn good.
25! That is young!! By now you’re probably …what 27? That is still young!! My mom went back to school for medical billing & coding at 60 after getting laid off from Coca Cola Corporate office .. If she could do it so can you!!! And you’re a lot younger than her 😉🥰
HSPA CRCST manual 8th edition. However, at the time this video was filmed we were using the 7th edition. Not much was changed so the information here is still good.
Ok may I ask something. As I’m reading on Glutaraldyhde in my book 7th edition is states odors can be detected at 0.4 (ppm) then states TLV-C is 0.05 ppm . I’m so confused .
As with all such questions, we have to defer to the equipment manufacturers instructions for use. Having said that, if it is ok to immerse the item must be thoroughly washed, dried and disinfected with a high level disinfectant in compliance with all the rules from the manufacturer of the disinfectant. And again, always go with OEM IFU.
Thank you so much Steve! Your video lectures help me to understand what I read in the book. (English is my second language) But I have an 8th edition book and when you point to a page number it does not match. Please, tell me which edition of book did you used in your videos? Thank you.
Dear Steve do you have in mind any link for exam preparation on line if so please provide me with as my exam is tomorrow and I would like you to inform me which is real important to take consideration for .Thank you and God bless .
I'm not near my computer at the moment but if you go to www.proprofs.com there are a whole bunch of tests and quizzes uploaded for free. In the mean time concentrate on my steam sterilization video, low temperature sterilization video, surgical instruments video, microbiology video, complex surgical instruments video and sterile packaging video. Don't stop watching until the test :)
The wording of questions is somewhat different. I would concentrate on the workbooks for CBSPD first. If you really focus , the test should be easy. Then concentrate on the iahcsmm materials.
I feel like the test it in really talk about SPI mean don't get me wrong there were a few questions about SP at end of the day but it was mostly questions about something else a really Threw me off
Good afternoon, Mr. Steve, I think you're calling like that from what I've been able to find out from the different comments. I work designing a special autoclave for treatment of municipal solid waste, and from the depth of my mind and my heart I want to thank you very much for the extraordinary, wonderful, marvelous, excellent and instructive video that you have made, because honestly it has not only made me understand many things about which was totally ignorant, if not that it has opened the doors of my mind to me to know in depth others, I pray God will give you health and happiness for many years, because with people like you and thanks to people like you who teach and educate, build a world better with people helping other people, it has been and will be a pleasure to watch your videos. My highest respect towards his person and his work. Best Regards, JBiG
