I Passed!!! as of today I am an NCCA BOARD CERTIFIED CBSPD Technician!!!! I am confident that Steve's Videos were instrumental in my passing, He covered so much of what I was tested on. Watch these videos over and over like I did for weeks on end and you will do fantastic!! the low temp video and prep and pack and the Steam sterilization videos were particularly helpful however watch ALL of the available videos and be assured you will do great! Thanks so much Steve you rock!!
Hello Guy Jones! I know I am 2 years late.Congratulations on passing your exam! What helped you pass the CBSPD exam? Were the practice exam in the back of the workbook helpful? Also, did you use the practice exam study guide as well. BCI is brilliant but I thought he only prepared for IACHSMM.
@@Dat_ill_Nana congratulations 👏🎉🎉👏 I'm very happy for you. Thank you for your kind feedback and sharing your success with us. Wishing you more success and Blessings
Steve videos are amazing i listened to all his videos about sterilization and i passed my exam this week im so happy! He covered everything i needed to know..
This is the best teacher I have seen... I was struggling to understand the concept of my studies until I started listening to his take on it...I really appreciate him and all he do for people like me for free.... I took my test and I passed with ease...thanks again.
I passed and I give thanks to you!! I work for a tissue bank and they require you to be certified, So it was a challenge for me because I haven’t worked in a hospital for a couple of years and forgot majority of everything! So I had to relearn everything. I did fail the exam my 1st try but I didn’t give up and remained focused by watching your videos and eating dinner until it was embedded in my head 😂😂… THANK YOU
Wow, the best teacher I have ever seen… Around this time I am learning SP, and we are on this chapter about Low Temperature Sterilization! Thank you SO MUCH
You are an excellent teacher, sir! Your pronuntiation is very clear, which makes the lesson much easier for foreigners like me to understand you. And your Pepe le Pew French is as good as it can be. Thank you much for all the lessons. All the way from Brazil.
thanks so much for these videos. I just passed the exam. and literally everything you went over was on it. I couldn't have done it without you. thanks again.
I currently work at a hospital on the Ortho unit as a PCT. Surgeries are interesting to me. I am not a scrub tech but interviewed for a sterile processing tech position today. My question is have you ever been poked with a dirty instrument. That's about the only thing that worries me. Your videos are so helpful.
If every teacher teaches like you .everyone will be genes. You make big difference in my life .I wish you are my phisics teacher. You are funn .thanks for sharing
Boston Career Institute (BCI Inc.) - Brookline I took the exam yesterday and didn't pass but one thing I'll say not much from the book was on it the number #8 edition i think that based on your videos the edition that you used it's #7 and it's better all those points you make were in the exam so thanks for sharing
Boston Career Institute (BCI Inc.) - Brookline thanks for the advice yes I'll do that but the way you explain and everything that's is exactly how it was in the exam thank you once again and keep up the good work your videos are very helpful
hi, steve, i am hopeful you respond to this enquiry in time, if at all. i just found out about SPD, i will like to find out which exam or online school would you advice i take? i stay in alabama btw.
I want to thank you for helping me understand C/S I just took my exam and Passed 2hours ago thank you so much for your help and will tell others that you are an awesome teacher and explain everything awesomely. Thank you sir. Couldn't do it without you breaking it down...
This video needs to be updated. H2O2 has the same OSHA limits for human exposure as Ethylene Oxide. 1 ppm in an 8 hour shift. Most hospitals DO NOT monitor the air for H2O2like they do EtO. Consequently, there is a lot of people being exposed to more than 1 ppm of H2O2.
Thank you for your feedback. The content of this video is based on the iahcsmm manuals 7-8. While you may be correct the information provided is factual for their national certification. I appreciate your feedback and input. When the new specifications will be published I will most certainly update the videos. Wishing you all the very best. Steve
Thank you very much Steve you are a Superstar. I want to let you know that I just passed my test. I will admit your videos were very helpful OMG . I can’t even say much . I really appreciate you 😭🙏🏾😍😍😍😍
Thank you for all your videos. As I prepare to take the CBSPD exam I found your videos to be easier to learn from than any other resource. much appreciation for all you do.
Hi I need advice on how to pass the state board. I took it 2times and didn't pass it. I really don't know what I did wrong. So please I need some good advice on how to pass the exam the 3rd time.
I am a Certified Surgical Technician aspiring to take a leadership position in the Central Processing Department I just wanted to say thank you as I passed my CRCST examination today. Your videos are a wealth of knowledge and when you said it will be on the test it certainly was on the test. Thanks again.
Hello!!! Your videos are awesome!! However, I have been a Surgical Technologist for over 9 years now. I just was just recently hired to teach Surgical Technology to High School students. However, as we both know, that requires an Associates Degree. So upon completion of my program my students will sit for the CBSPD exam. This makes me very nervous!! My only experience with SPD is calling down/running in to grab a tray of instruments for a case. I have been studying my tail off to be very honest with you. I want my students to be successful. Your videos are awesome and I am a huge fan. I share your videos in class in addition to my own lecture at times and I will provide guided notes to go with your videos. Hope you don not mind. I am typing all of this to simply ask for advice, advice and more advice!! Does your videos work for the CBSPD exam as well? I understand I may be a little late. But I am late in discovering your RU-vid channel. I have 11 students scheduled to take the exam May 3rd. I feel like I have prepared them well, but I think I am more nervous than them.....ok I'm done now. LOL
Danyell Terry thank and please feel free to use the material. the lectures are more geared to iahcsmm however, the information is more or less standard. feel free to reach out any time.
Just letting you know i passed my crcst exam!!! Your videos help me understand my content and help me understand the questions i got.I studied for less than a week. I woke up usually around 3am till 6am.and for the last day i just focus on my book and videos and my co workers notes too.!!!! thank you again sir. I got a lil bit of everything. Mostly temp and packing questions.
I understand you so much than you. My teacher never takes his time to teach our class I appreciate you that you explain everything and take your time you help me a lot with you videos.
@@BostonCareerInstitute sounds great because Plasma RF generators intended for industrial applications and scientific operates at 13,56Mhz and cost a lot of money. The lower the frequency , the lower the cost. By the way, which public the curses are intended to? accept foreign applications?
Thank you sir,you make it fun and easy to learn and I like your French :). I wish i had watch your video lectures long enough to pass my exam :(. I live in Europe and I cannot find the study books in English. Where can I buy the study books in English ? Help please. Thanks:) have a blessed week.
@@BostonCareerInstitute wah okay when i pass the exam this yr i will XD btw prof is VHP and O3 the same? because in my book right now it didnt talk about ozone but vhp instead
That's just awesome! Congratulations!!! Very happy for you and thank you for sharing your great news with all of us here. Wishing you much success. Make sure to take your CER exam ASAP.
Based off of your videos, I have enrolled in school yesterday and I start in May. I've been watching your videos to get a head start. Although we may not use the same textbook, can you please let me know which one you are referring to? I appreciate all of your videos. Thank you so much.
Tre Naise certainly, I use the iahcsmm crcst manual / boxed set as they call it. having said that, I teach based on topics and not the book. wishing you all the very best.
Great, make sure you get the HSPA CRCST 9th edition and workbook from their website. They also publish a guide to what's on the test. Keep watching the videos, read the book to understand all words they use. Don't try to memorize the book, just understand the language. There is no trick or a short cut, work and time must be invested by you.
Hi thanks for the video. It isn't mentioned the alternative low temperature immersion in paracetic acid. Can you explain the reason you didn't discuss in class? is not relevant among US hospitals? what about in Europe? Moreover can you suggest a source about official guidelines and other regulations on that topic? Thanks in advance Pietro
Unipa88 dear Pietro, thanks for watching. Peracetic acid is used primarily as a high level disinfectant in the US and not a sterilant. That is why it wasn't mentioned in the class. In the US all matters pertaining to sterilization are deferred to AAMI and all other content is distilled from their regulations. Instrument manufacturers also provide guidelines for specific instructions for use and care. I follow iahcsmm content from their crcst manual. Hope this helps. All the best. Steve
Thanks Steve.. For endoscopes (thermal sensitive instruments) I found out also LTSF (steam formaldehyde) method: temperature 60c, 30 min and 2% formaldehyde concentration; I have the feeling that there are many other methods available around. Do you have any suggestion on where to read about all of them? Thanks, Pietro
Well, Formaldehyde is also a disinfectant, though in higher concentrations it may be considered a sterilant. Unfortunately, due to its toxic residue it is not very popular. Thanks again for watching and asking great questions. Steve
Congratulations 🎉 I was wondering if these videos would help with the new edition of the book. I’m studying for my exam now and I am taking notes from these videos.
CHL ... Yeah, I hear you. The best advice I can give you is not to get discouraged! You gain absolutely nothing from that, think positively instead and refocus your efforts. Go over the book concentrating on the shaded areas of each chapter. Read the chapters into your phone and listen to yourself reading the chapters every chance you get. Don't watch TV and focus on learning. Teach your friends the stuff you read from the book. Think positively and you will pass next time or the time after that. You got nothing to lose and everything to gain. Go forth, you have my blessings :)
I'd like to watch these in order. Are they ordered somehow. Tried youtube sorting by upload date order, but still didn't line up as my IAHCSMM book chapters line up. Numbering in order would be helpful.
I do not know who you are but I think you are the One of the Best teacher or professors you were born for this please I wanted to know if you are still teaching
If you really want to get certified there is nothing hard about it. What you have to do if you do want to get certified is learn and learn with vigor and excitement. Surround yourself with learning and positive people who will encourage you.
This instructors wonderful, he knows how to teach he's very patient answers all your questions he wants you to succeed. Most of the college professors instructors I had I had with very condescending and they didn't care I didn't care if you were there or not!!!
Hi, I work as an SSD Technician in the Uk at my local NHS hospital. We have a medium size Sterrad Unit primarily for Robotic & Laparoscopic Scopes. Our standard cycle time is around 55 minutes, and a longer cycle of 1 hour 30 minutes. You say the normal cycle time for Gas/Plasma sterilisation is 2 hours, is this dependent on the type of machine being used or is due to differing regulations between the UK & US ?
Greetings and salutations from across the Atlantic. I will have to revisit the video but I don't think I was referring to gas plasma cycle being that long. Our cycles are similar in length to what you describe.
Hi Steve.. May i ask.. Since you mentioned that it will take a long time then how long is the total time runs for Low Temperature? Thanks in advance for the reply
Thanks for watching. If by low temperature you mean ethylene oxide EO, the cycle is roughly 20 hours. That includes the sterilization cycle and aeration. Hydrogen peroxide, which is another low temperature modality, takes about an hour for an average cycle.
I am currently about to start my sterile tech program in January 2024. The school where I will be attending for my program is also a testing site for certifications test.
Does the CRCST exam involve all chapters in the ishcamm 8th edition ? I’m more worried of not learning the right material. I start my clinicals in January, Your tutoring is very helpful!
Thanks for watching and reaching out. Yes, the exam does involve all chapters from the manual. Having said that, it does not mean that you need to memorize every line from each chapter. If you listen to my lectures, you can understand what to focus on.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR VIDEOS, I have been watching your videos for months, really studied out of my book gently, followed your helpful instructions and I JUST PASSED MY NATIONAL EXAM!!!!! I am ever so grateful to God for you help!!! Thank you!!!
Thank you for sharing your wonderful news. Congratulations! Wishing you much success in tacking all other exams and making a difference in this field. All the very best.

Wow. I am so happy to have found your videos! I'm in my last week before finals, studying SPT at CNM in New Mexico. I will be taking the CBSPD exam in the first week of November 2021. Your video content has helped me tremendously, as I am able to listen hands free at my current job. Thank you so much for posting these, love watching, listening, learning, and laughing! Will post again with my results.
Hi, Amy I am glad to meet other CBSPD struggler that found this video handful! What other sources do you use in preparation to the exam? I ALSO EXPECT TO TAKE THIS EXAM IN NOVEMBER 2021
