That looks like a true quality vintage appliance that’d outperform and outlast anything built today. I hope it was reassembled and placed in a new home, rather than thrown away/recycled.
Correction. Most of that weight on the right side is coming from the high voltage transformer. If you dont have a pair of heavy duty magnets you'll find a nice pair in the magnetron upon dismantling. Not much has changed in the basic microwave. Same components, just cheaper materials.

It depends on the company and the state requirements. CO will not let you start your apprenticeship hours until 18. You might be a laborer for a couple of years, most companies will have you fill out your registration with the state.
