Dismounting an Old GE Microwave 

Thanks for the video, I have the same microwave with the turn knobs, but is set up the same way. This helps me out a lot .

That looks like a true quality vintage appliance that’d outperform and outlast anything built today. I hope it was reassembled and placed in a new home, rather than thrown away/recycled.

Correction. Most of that weight on the right side is coming from the high voltage transformer. If you dont have a pair of heavy duty magnets you'll find a nice pair in the magnetron upon dismantling. Not much has changed in the basic microwave. Same components, just cheaper materials.

Mine was made in 1994 and just went bad. I think its a magnetron or diode or capicitor

Damn, that is old. That thing has to be a safety hazard compared to today's standards. Do the owners glow in the dark????

Most people's first thought in removing a microwave like this is taking a hammer to it.

You really don't want us to attempt the removal - two screws here some here, more here, a wire here - no details or close up. Just say you're trying to get business for yourself.
