As someone who had a moderately fucked up life chuck full of awful adults, to anyone who doubts this is possible it absolutely is and likey more common than you think. My grandparents on my father's side wanted to leave something really valuable to me in their will when I was a teenager and my Mom refused because she still hated my dad after the divorce.

What's funny is I've been to Disney World twice. First at like 5 years old with my mom and brother and then 2nd time at like 9 or 10 with my grandma and 3 cousins. I remember almost nothing from my first time going and I'm 28 now. I remember crying during the A Bugs Life theater when the stink bugs came out and they misted the audience with water lol

mrlopio at 6:41 with the Red Sox analogy, I can see that tbh. I'm torn on the topic even though I hate disney, but it does get sold as this big wonderful magical thing. Not defending OP but I think he let disney too far into his own head with their propagan-- I mean, advertising. It would definitely fit the bill for his age range.

@@SimonDoer apparently you can't find it because the thread got turbo nuked after op's account got banned by admin so I'll give a little more detailed summary for you. OP is a father of Child, and Op's brother got a ps5 so he gave his old ps4 to Child. Child played the ps4 a lot over a few days and because OP was worried that kid would neglect his studies because of the console took and sold it.

I'd get it if Dad was scared for his kids and how the innumerable possible catastrophes might lead the man to decline out of concern for his children. FiL has health concerns and who knows how responsible the grandparents are. But no it's "I wanna be there to see my child cry on ITS A SMALL WORLD AFTER ALL."

How can a couple save money for something for 6 years and have less than 5K put away for it? And I mean that's something small like a DISNEY fund, imagine their daughters' COLLEGE funds, they can't be much bigger, hell they probably aren't even started yet! EDIT: To clarify my point here: he claims their children are prime Disney age, and he can't afford for 2 people to go. If 2 people is 5K, 4 should be roughly 10K. Unless the man was planning to very suddenly have 10k in the next year, he was going to miss "Prime Disney Age," and by my calculations? He wouldn't have the money until the kids were 18, maybe even 20 and that's PUSHING IT. This guy should be grateful his kids will get to go at all considering he's already that far behind on trip savings.

@digitalunity
@digitalunity Год назад
@@Matkatamiba I have no idea where you've gotten these numbers from but the place I found that even claims to have these statistics is so vauge that I can neither confirm nor deny, I only know the average should for a couple with one or more children should be between 3K and 30K, and that's from median to mean so there's like no proper statistical data here at all. I wanna be mad but I can't even tell what's right

I mean, the point about them maybe not being able to keep up with the kids while they run around the park is kinda valid. I know NL likes to go off on people who make crazy leaps of logic and bonkers assumptions, but I don't think its a crazy stretch of the imagination to say that 2 elderly citizens, one with soon to be fatal cancer, probably won't be able to fully control very young kids.

I'd actually like to hear you expound a little bit on this. It's reasonable to FEEL however you feel, it's not like you control that. All you can control is how you react to stuff. I think virtually everyone in this story except for the poster would feel really positive about the kids going to Disney, even if the grandpa wasn't dying. It seems like a relatively selfish thing to prevent the kids going for this feeling the original poster is describing, and it becomes incomprehensible to me when considering the dying grandpa. It's so far out of my perspective that I'm actually almost at a loss on what exactly to ask you, but it makes me feel like me and others might be missing something. Can you try to speak to what you're thinking a little more so I can get a better sense?
