The carpet seen in a nutshell Panchito:I can show you the would!!!!! *wraps arm around Josè* Josè:wha- Panchito:Shinngin!Shimmering!Splendid! Donald:THAT'S NOT OUR MOVIE!!!!!!
I have to say, this one quickly became one of my favorite Disney movies. Its just done so well for what its worth. Its so funny, colorful and lively. Not only that, but it has also lead me to develop an interest in Mexican music.
Unlike Saludos Amigos, I actually grew up with this one. Definitely have a lot of fond memories watching The Three Caballeros. Also heard that Saludos Amigos and this movie are getting a Blu-Ray combo pack release in August. Hope that's true 'cause I'd buy it.
While I haven't heard anything in particular, that wouldn't shock me. The DVDs that I have came in a combo pack, and really, the two films are so closely related and with Saludos Amigos only being 40ish minutes, you almost have to combo them together anyway.
***** Thank you! I'm glad you found my videos then. And yes, the basic plan is to get through all of the Disney animated classics before hopefully moving on to other things (Pixar, live action + animation, strictly live action, etc.) provided I can maintain my sanity and my ability to juggle a hectic work schedule and video making haha
I do know about them, as I am a fan of the Nostalgia Critic, but I have purposely tried to avoid his Disneycember series solely because I don't want my reviews to be influenced by them, if that makes sense. I kind of like going into my reviews blind of other people's opinions/without seeing what other people have said about the films, because it frees me up to give you all my honest opinion without feeling like I'm copying anyone. I definitely am going to try and watch some though as I begin to work my way through the Disney library
I saw this film in a hollywood video store. Donald Duck is one of my favorite Disney characters and when I saw him on the cover, I had to rent it. Fell in love with this movie! Panchito was my favorite as a kid but now I see myself leaning towards Jose. Then again, I haven't watched the movie in years.
Obviously Pancho Pistolas is the best :3 (here, in Mexico, it's Pancho, instead of Panchito) Although Jose Carioca has an style magnifique! :D Los Tres Caballeros are amazing! the best crew :D
I don't have much to say about this film, but I still enjoyed it alot! I especially loved all the characters, the animation, and the music! Everything was so brilliant and colorful! My favorite part of the movie was probably the actual "The Three Caballeros" song, & I found it interesting that they sung it so late in the film.
Yeah, I remember knowing the song from an old sing along VHS I had when I was little, so when I finally saw the movie years later, I was surprised too that the song came about an hour in. Still an amazing number though
What I loved the most about this movie is the brazilian song "Os Quindins de Yayá", with the beautiful carioca woman and the guys fighting for her, just wonderful segment
Full Voice Actor List Clarence Nash: Donald Duck - Jose Oliviera: Jose Carioca - Joaquin Garay: Panchito Pistores - Sterling Holloway: A Narrator - Pinto Colvig: The Aracuan Bird
I love it, partially nostalgia, but mostly the animation, the techniques, Donald, Jose, Ponchito, the live action mixed with animation, and that trippy ending.
Ay Jose! Just your informative review makes me want to bust out the tacos and enjoy Salados Amigos and Caballeros to make believe I'm south of the border far away from the snowy northeast. Ole!
I've loved this film since I was 3 years old. Every time it came on the Disney channel I'd dance and sing along. Even at a young age I appreciated the artistic animation as the song Bahia played.
I have to say I think I like this better than Saludos Amigos, there were segments I liked like the one with the penguin, the Aracuan Bird song, and the Three Caballeros themselves.
Watching both back to back, I agree. Again, I felt more like Saludos Amigos was definitely a stray into the unknown for the studio, but this time around, they had a better idea of what they wanted to do and more time to do it, and I think that made it a more complete feeling movie.
Joe The Disney Guy I agree with you. I think that The Three Caballeros had more fun and was more revolutionary with the combination of live action and animation. The music is even more cooler.
Problem is, name me, without the help of Wikipedia, one popular animator other than Mary Blair (who she wasn't, she was a genius, but not an official Disney animator) There were no female animators other than the ink & paint workers. There's always the "9 Old Men" and "Fred Moore was a genius" over and over. No women.
Ay! Jalisco no te rajes! Since i am spanish, and also english, I loved this movie! I also loved countries at the time so this was really intresting movie for me! Ive even been to epcot and went on the three caballeros gran fiesta tour! For anyone who doesn't know the ride i would like to tell you! Heres what it is about: you start in mexico... riding across the lovely rainforest, you have finally met panchito and jose and... wait wheres donald??? Panchito and José carioca are trying to find donald in different countries! They are running out of time! The crowd wants to see the stage on time! Thankfully they found donald! He was trying to get to the girls in the mariachi singing night! They got donald and sang the three caballeros, and they were birds of a feather... 1:if you have seen the movie after going on the ride, sadly you do not get to hear the full song, you just hear a quarter of it Comment more stuff for me to figure out of the three birds of the spanish-english pavillion! Comment for more! Adios!
The TV show Legend of the Three Caballeros is far superior. As charming and creative as Ducktales, and as funny and epic as Gravity Falls... So many call backs to Disney old cartoons and comics, such clever writing, and it´s even hinted at that it takes place in the same universe as the original DuckTales (by a cameo I won´t spoil). The TV show that Disney sent to die. Why aren´t more critics talking about it? (rethorical question BTW. I know no one knows the show, even tho it´s on Disney plus)
I’m rather sad that TLOTTC probably won’t get another season.. but hey! At least it ended on a nice note along with the fact you can easily omit the cliffhanger without it changing anything.
Very fun movie. However the problem I have is some of the species used to represent the country. Jose Carioca the Mealy Parrot (Ara farinosa) makes sense as this species is found throughout Latin America. Panchito is not a native Mexican species, however. His roots are those of the Red Junglefowl which is native to SE Asia. Donald, a Peking breed of Mallard could represent the U.S. However Peking ducks are called so due to the breed arising from China. So technically, Donald also has roots (though those of Mallard) in Asia.
As much as I despise World War 2 for forcing Walt Disney to make package films, I will confess I like The Three Caballeros better than the other package films. First of all, I really like The Flying Gauchito. Not only does it look like another cowboy project, but this time it stars a kid. I wish the kid had gotten a child voice like Pinocchio because he is almost as cute as Pinocchio. To me, that kid is the highlight of The Flying Gauchito. Also, like Jose Carioca, I am willing to accept Panchito Pistores as another Disney character. But what I really like about the Three Caballeros is that unlike the other package films, this one tried to tell an actual story. It does not feel like a package film, but like an actual movie. Therefore, I can watch The Three Caballeros without seeing it as a broken story or as episodes of a television series. Don't take this as a hatred of television though, I also have a list of my sixteen favorite animated television series.
Joe the Disney guy I’m pretty sure when it comes to daisy she wasn’t that important in the early Disney shorts as she is today because her personality sure is different
this video is a few years old now but i just have to say, you were saying josé's name wrong. you were using the spanish pronunciation. josé is, obviously, from brazil, and he speaks portugese. in portugese, they pronounce the j's as j, unlike spanish where they pronounce it as an h. sorry just, a small pet peeve. loved all the details you gathered on the film, and that jab at meryl streep was great. it was good to see someone's done their homework!
As much as I like your reviews, but sexism doesn't start at not hiring women at all. Hiring them less, paying them less - based on their gender -, or promoting gender stereotypes is also sexist. Considering his fierce opposition to labor unions, and him being an FBI informer, Disney was deeply flawed.
this movie was not only unnecessary IMO, but just a giant mess in general. the first two shorts have nothing to do with the three caballeros, and you don't even get all of them on screen until about 40 minutes in. The Cold-Blooded Penguin: 7/10 (funny at times, but not very interesting) The Flying Gauchito: 7/10 (when i watched this, i thought "wait, wasn't this supposed to be educational? so why is there a flying donkey?!" Baia: 7/10 (really boring, but it looks amazing) Las Posadas: 5/10 (what's the point of this?) Mexico: 6/10 (quite boring, and starts the weird thing with donald chasing girls in this movie) You Belong To My Heart: 6/10 (...whaaaaat...?) Donald's Surreal Reverie: 4/10 (...whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat...?) overrall, i give it a 5/10. was this supposed to be educational? because the only thing i learned was what gauchos wear, which i learned in the last movie. also, why do they love baia? why do these people do these dances? why is there a Pink Elephants On Parade segment in this? why is it so LOOOOOOONG?! WHY?!
