Disney is Burning While Bob Iger Profits 

Disney has been losing billions on Disney+, alongside even more at the cinema box office while Bob Iger rakes in 10's of millions of dollars a year. Far from being some incredible CEO Bob Iger seems to be killing time blaming as many other things as possible to stay in office another year. With the company supported by the profits of things like the parks, the bottom line hides the failure of thigs like Disney+ and their movies. But is this an excuse? If the driving force behind your business (the IP's) are failing, isn't that something the CEO should be focusing on? And when the problem is so easy to solve, is there any excuse not to? If the man at the top carries the can for failure, how many cans does Bob Iger have to carry before actually being held accountable by the board? Directing a Star Wars film should be the pinnacle of a directors career, once they have proven they are amazing at their job, love the source material, and will treat it with the respect and effort it deserves. Disney has fallen so far from their founders wishes. A man who went on plenty of tangents that prequels, sequels and spin offs are almost always worthless. Now that statement isn't always true on all accounts and I don't think he meant sequels with a actual through line from one movie to another. But come on look at the state of entertainment. We shouldn't be getting maybe one or two series/films that try something original or a never seen before adaptation. There must be scripts and books just waiting to be picked by. Do they even allow writers to submit original scripts anymore? Or do they get scraped because it fails to meet a certain checklist which hinders all creativity down to a mere list.

I have a book that had some interest as a film adaptation. I was clear I didn't want Disney near it. If it never gets made into a movie I can sleep at night better than if it is ruined and turned into a woke mess.

I remember when Disney was just a couple of television channels. Now they have their hands in *everything.* And everything they touch once always fails. If the studios took a budget cut, cut the budgets for the shows, and stopped giving the productions 20 million per _episode_ and cut the actors pay checks in half. While having the bollocks to fire the majority of the idiots, we’d probably better television. Again I don’t want to see my once favourite shows fail. But to be quite honest I’d be happy to see shows like Doctor Who and Kurtzman Trek be cancelled into oblivion, and _only_ come back by someone who respects the franchises 40+ years from now. I know these two siblings ...a brother and a sister ... in their early 40s, whose parents and both sets of grandparents died in quick succession of a just a couple of years, when the siblings were about 19/20, and left them with an absolute fortune. over the past 20ish years, while not needing to invest in things, they have still been angel backers on various media projects. He takes chances on new ideas and independent creators; she wont back anyone without some kind of track record, or anyone who doesn't produce "safe" content, and she rarely backs any projects created by women. He backs three times as many projects as she does. I've had a few conversations over the years with them, and from what I can gather, that's how a lot of female angel backers operate. Women, like Sofia Coppola, complain that they have to get most of their funding from men, and that's because women with money don't tend to invest in other women. It's like how women's sports don't make much money, because women don't care about them. It's also got a lot to do with women not really liking other women enough to help them succeed. I work in field that is over 90% female now, and my other half, she works in a different field that also happens to be around 80 to 85% female, and we've seen countless examples over the years of women claiming to have solidarity with their "sisters", all while pulling up ladders behind themselves, actively sabotaging other women's endeavours, and playing malicious games using gossip and slander to remove credibility from other women in their workplace. These women tend to all but ignore men, if they get the chance to go after other women, all while claiming how hard men have made things for women. The number one opponents women face are other women, but whilst doing bad to other women, and having bad done to them by other women, women fail to be able to admit this.

Is it only me that thinks that the video of Ewan McGregor is taken out of context? He is talking about the fans attacking the actor of a character they played. Reva was by no means a good character and Moses Ingram's portrayal wasn't that good, but she was getting attacked and sent death threats for her role. It's not her fault the character was written so poorly, and Ewan was saying that the people that attacked her personally aren't ehat he considered "Star Wars fans" which I would agree. I hate Hollywood not just for what they did to entertainment but the money they're losing for people associated with the industry - people who are involved in production, costume making, movie theatre workers, etc.
