You should see the people in the Facebook collector's groups losing their minds. Thinking they were going to buy everything up and the price would go up to Alpha MTG prices....tried to tell them. Everyone thinking they were going to make easy money. Only people who cashed in were the ones that got in and out early.

And a lot of us for Khana fans that just want to be able to play with our kids at home we're rooting for those reprints to be printed to Oblivion but unfortunately it's looking like it's at the end of the road those boxes that were up in this video that dip down to the 170 whatever area 160 blah blah blah they're all the way back up to 250 now like it never even happened each set that comes out those first chapter boxes are going up and up and up a few months from now they'll be 300 and they're done with those reprints for the first chapter it's done they had three tremendous waves millions went out and is still right now those boxes are back 250 plus

Metazoo has and always be, a terrible game. Little to no support for it. Almost every single tcg/ccg these days have become a running joke of failed investments and closed LGS. Sports/comics/cards have been on a steady decline since 2021.

You're what's wrong with the TCG/CCG system. I hope every card in this game goes to under .25 cents. People want to play this game. Trying to fight against high prices and scalpers does not help people play a game. This is a game. People should never be priced out of a game. If you're hoarding boxes of these games for speculation, I hope you lose all of your money.

Then pushing competitive circuit more than 6 months to the release of the game is one of the reasons this game is in life support.

We'll see how it goes. If they print it to the point it's available and not selling they will stop making it. So having product is nice but without continued purchasing it won't matter.

I was going to say this. a product selling extremely highly at or above msrp and selling out immediately at every retail store isn't a collapse, it's stabilization. a collapse is when a product is crashing far below msrp and is having poor demand. thats like saying ps5s "collpased" when supply stabilized, ps5s didn't collapse, they were just finally accessible at the price they were supposed to.

It is collectible, the fact Rudy has a twisted definition of collectible is another thing. While a card having high monetary value can make ownership of it feel more special, it isn't anything necessary to enjoy collecting. Hell, many of the most valued cards nowadays were from times when people just enjoyed having them, without looking at value.

Yup. Or same reason PS5s used to be going for like $800-$1000. Because scalpers ate up the supply to ensure actual buyers couldn't get it, stifling supply. When something is INSTANTLY way above MSRP, it's not a sign of supply and demand. It's a sign of scalpers influencing the supply and fucking over the actual demand.

You better hope that's not it, because that means the true demand is MUCH lower and they are printing to the re-sell interest. The second they go away there is massive product sitting around and Ravensburger losses their asses and the game might be over.

@@ScottAndNumbers Right but the massive hype and slow to release demand means inflated prices and its the inflated prices that draw in the scalpers. Once the product is everywhere the demand starts being met and the prices come down and the scalpers stop. It's actually the demand that creates high prices that creates scalpers to take advantage of high prices. The scalpers are just the natural result of high prices and supply too low or slow to catch up to demand.

@@michaelrudolph7003 Not at all true. Scalpers are a bi-product of people just being shitty. Scalpers deflate supply (which increases prices) but they do nothing to the actual demand except inhibit the people who demand it from actually getting it. Meaning prices are 100% inflated and manufactured. Manufactured by scalpers, not the lack of supply. Because the supply is still there. It was just eaten up by people only caring to resell it at an inflated price, aka "scalp". Only way to combat it entirely is to release WAY too much supply right at the start. Which would just be a massive waste for the company in every scenario.

@@ScottAndNumbers If you are correct then there should be scalpers jacking up prices for every in demand product, but that's not the case. And it's not the case because high prices created by actual people wanting the product but aren't sure they will be able to get it creates a market for the product at higher prices because people are willing to pay more to make sure they get it when they want it. That increase in the market price, or yes, anticipation of that happening on a hype product that is announced not to have enough supply at release to meet demand is what brings in scalpers, also known as arbitrage. This will always happen as the basics of economics are universal and cannot be overridden. High demand and low supply ALWAYS means in increase in price, ALWAYS! And people like to make easy money and if they can buy a thing and flip it for 100% profit in a day, lots of humans will do that. If you don't like it, get the producers of highly in demand things to produce enough so that the market will be immediately or almost immediately satisfied. If they don't this will always happen. Arbitrage has been the basic economic concept at play in trade for as long as human beings have existed. It's the reason Marco Polo went to the Orient, it's why the "Silk Road" existed. Your understanding of this is just wrong.
