My daughter and I did a road trip to Ft. Wilderness and stayed in a tent. The price (many years ago) was decent, especially since it included transportation to and from the theme parks. We had breakfast at the tent, lunch in the park, dinner at the tent and then back to the park for fireworks.

Worth it for one time. We took our trailer there in 1998, forgot how much, but affordable then.

Most people do love it. I think we just went to many times with the kids so Mickey is no longer at the top of our list.

My wife and I love going to Disney and staying at Fort Wilderness at least once a year. Yes it's expensive but all things considered worth it to us. We once stayed at a KOA in Moab Utah in October and paid $85.00 a night and got nothing in comparison. Everything Disney is expensive. However, everything Disney does is first class all the way. So you get what you pay for and the conveniences and atmosphere make all the difference. Agree with everything they brought out in this video. Well done!

We stayed here a few months ago and thought it was awesome. As for the price it pretty cheap compared to staying in a Disney Hotel.

Fort Wilderness is my happy place. Maybe not so great for the pocketbook, but I love Disney! We'll be going back there again in September! We were there last year at Halloween and again at Christmas. It is amazing what folks do to decorate their sites!

I’m not sure why everyone is saying it’s expensive. Do you mean expensive compared to other RV camp grounds or in general. Cause we stay their usually once a month and I don’t think we ever pay more then $150 a night. Compared to other Disney hotels I think it’s pretty decent.

We have camped there many times. In tents, in our first popup camper and last year I took my 17' camper and my 2 grown daughters. We had so much fun! I made another reservation for this year and one of my daughter's will get to come as well as my husband. Definitely pricey but the convenience makes up for it. I've stayed at nearby campgrounds and driving in stinks.

We have been going to Fort Wilderness since the 70s when it cost only $38 a night and paid $180 a night last June! It is as must do once in your life but sadly it has outpriced most peoples budget. Tropical Palms campground which is close is a good alternative.

You can still get a regular full hookup site for about 105 in September. And during March and spring break time they offer a 20% coupon that makes about that price during those months.

Expensive yes, but not for a vacation. We had kids and grandkids flying out for the trip so for all of us it wasn't so expensive. Don't forget the perks! all the Disney stuff right there with you for the kids (ok we enjoyed it too). The boat was right there to take us to Magic kingdom, monorail and many other attractions. Free bus rides to the other theme parks. Many more goodies than I have time for here. Bad side was hot muggy sticky summer weather. When relief came with rain, came lightning and rides shutting down. Seemingly long rides in shuttle buses to the various parks when you were packed in hot sticky wet crowded buses. People were nice and very sweet. both staff and other attendees.

I agree with all of that! When you decide if the price is worth it you have to compare it to other Disney Hotels and not to other RV parks. Its apples and oranges, right? You are paying for the amenities of being on Disney property. I hope you had a great time with the family!!

Our absolute favorite park - we go at least once yearly if not twice. We've NEVER paid that much a night though. Most we have ever paid is $93/night and our upcoming Sept is only $63/night. Still steep compared to other parks but we love it.

That’s what I don’t get either. We go monthly usually and have never paid over $120. And I know what’s expensive is different to everyone but I don’t see $120 as a bad price for a Disney location.

Kristy Burleyson when did you go to Disney’s campsite? They’re charging $1495 for 7 nights 8 days. Preferred site. How do we get a cheaper site? Do they offer free tram shuttles around campsite or do you walk everywhere? We don’t have another vehicle.

@@terryobrien388 Yes, they have bus stops and you can take around the campground or to the parks. You can also rent a golf cart for the campground if you want. We did not choose a preferred site and chose the cheapest site available. The time of year you are going will also determine price. We went June 2018.

Apparently we were at Fort Wilderness at the same time you were. Our camper and campsite was in your video. Yes you are right the campsite prices are high, in fact it seems Disney has a price increase every year. But still our favorite campsite

Wow! Michael that is so crazy!! It just goes to show "It's a Small World after all!" It was beautiful that is for sure. I dont know if/when we will go back because of the price but who knows. Grandkids can make you do a lot of crazy things! Thanks for watching. Safe Travels!

Do you know if you save 20 percent if you have a annual pass to Disney world? Also do they have a cheaper weekly rate? Do the prices get cheaper in the winter seasons... sorry for the questions I leave for USA for 4.5 months next month from Australia and love learning

@@michellemartin4847 The prices are cheaper during off season, which would be the time that school is in. But there is not a discount for weekly rates or any discounts if you have an annual pass.

“Off season” at Fort Wilderness is January 2nd to mid-February. That’s why we were there from January 2 until we pulled out on February 1.

Reservations for Fort Wilderness are very hard to get but there are always cancellations. You can reserve up to 499 days away by calling their reservation phone #. Good luck - you'll love The Fort.

We love it there stayed 3 years in a row 3 plus months . But lately Yup $197.00 a night pretty much unaffordable if your staying more than a week or so..

I have been looking into these campsites. We would have a tent set up instead of an RV. This is probably silly, but they have showers right? Campground showers and bathrooms? I mean, I assumed. But I don’t see them listed anywhere!

They have excellent comfort stations, spaced at good intervals throughout the resort. Always impeccably clean and private too.

Zaundra Dickey Full hookups have electric, water and sewer. A premium lot is full hookups with a larger lot. Not sure about premiere. Thanks for watching. Safe travels

I have to say, last time I paid extra for a preferred site. I'm not sure what made it preferred! It was supposed to be closer to rest rooms and bus stops.....it wasn't.

It's not always $123 a night. Depending on what time of year you go the price may be less. It also depends on what type of site you get will determine price.

Thanks for explaining this. People keep hating on the price and I don’t think it’s a bad deal. We are there a lot and this trip is the first time we paid over $100. It’s Disney, not just another random RV park. My husband and I just bought a new RV so he refuses to spend money on a hotel and honestly the RV is just as nice.

Starting to lay the groundwork for a vacation down there next year, so this clip helped give me a better understanding. We aren't the type that goes to camp activities generally, so that part is of no value to me, but there are some other features that are of interest - especially if it meant that we wouldn't have to worry about taking our TOAD to visit the attractions.

Stayed in a cabin at Fort Wilderness about 10 years ago with the 4 kids and had a blast..we were there 10 days and, YEP, it cost a fortune ! Great place and the reason they charge for your dog is because Disney simply can't get their hands deep enough in anyone's pocket. It is what it is though no one goes to Disney to save money. Glad you guys had fun !

That is just so expensive! Ok maybe I will fork out more if I was in Key West but we are hoping to stay on the base while we are there. But that doesnt mean we wont fork out the $$ for a place like that once in a while. But usually we are cheapos!!

I think it depends on your definition of worth it. If you compare it to Disney hotels it is totally worth it. If you compare to local campgrounds then I guess it depends on the person you ask. We had a great time and we are glad we went to experience it but I am not sure if we will return. Thanks for watching and safe travels.
