Disney Springs Happy Hour Crawl: Cookes of Dublin, STK, Frontera Cocina | October 2023 Vlog Day 3

Heyo! We continued our third day of our vacation with a Disney Springs happy hour stroll. We were hoping Mondays would mean lower crowds, and I think that mostly worked out in our favor! We definitely could have stayed all day at Islands of Adventure at Universal, but wanted to try to break up our day and not push ourselves too hard in the theme parks. I'm not a particularly big proponent of Disney Springs (to me, it's just a nice outdoor mall), but I am a huge fan of happy hour. This was a fun way to try some places we hadn't been before, and save a bit of money on what otherwise could have been a very expensive date night!
Also, so, we went into Raglan Road and asked about happy hour, and they told us to go to the outdoor portion of Cookes of Dublin. So I refer to our first real stop as both Raglan Road and Cookes of Dublin in this video. To be honest, I'm still confused. Because it seems like the "Hole in the Wall" outdoor location is part of Raglan Road...? It doesn't really matter honestly, but just don't want to confuse anyone further haha. Also, for the record, we did take rideshares to and from Disney Springs. Don't drink and drive.

You two looked like you had a fun evening and we were shocked how cheap some of those drinks are during happy hour. Getting a comped drink at Disney??? You must have really hit it off with the bartender. This crawl looked like a lot of fun and we were just both talking how we might try this on our next trip.

LOL yeah I was surprised to get comp'd. We get free stuff at bars around home semi regularly just for being like nice, normal humans with an ounce of patience. Not too sure what happened at STK but I will not complain! We of course left an extra big tip. It's definitely the most fun I've ever had a DS. And even taking the drinking aspect away, I have found in the past just sort of wandering around, maybe having 1 reservation, was not all that fun. But this was like... a plan of attack, options A/B/C, way more my style. I still think Disney Springs is basically just a nice mall so my general sentiment remains don't go out of your way to do it, but if you have some time to kill there are deals to be had!

This is really helpful. I don't know much about navigating DS and actually having a productive DS evening. I've just had two restaurant meals there--a great one at Wine Bar George and a mediocre one at Enzo's Hideaway. And great ice cream at Salt and Straw a number of times. But the pub crawl is something I could really make use of now that I have the SSR contract. I could see this being really good for my mother, who eats like a bird and doesn't quite realize she prefers appetizers to full meals. She drinks very little but she'd love the falafel. Questions--what do you mean by "clubby?" Do you mean a nightclub or an exclusive club? Also, what was the general vibe at DS as a whole? I'm pretty sure I've only been there on Saturday nights, when it's been unduly crowded and unpleasant. I'm eager to enjoy DS and incorporate it a bit into my Disney experiences--gotta make the SSR contract work in my favor and it's not going to help me for park access! Thanks, Jacqueline!

In prep for this trip I was just trying to find happy hours in general, and was delighted to see a handful at DS so planned around those! Clubby was definitely like nightclubby. Like female staff all wear tight short black dresses. Music is loud. It's bumping. They claim they are the leader in "vibe dining". It's all kind of annoying in my opinion, but we went early enough to where it wasn't a real issue. But I can't really imagine trying to eat like a 7:30 pm dinner or something there. By then I'm sure it's so dark and so loud. Not for me haha. Disney Springs on a Monday vibe overall was good! It wasn't nearly as crowded as weekends, but probably not as dead as you might expect. Sort of the right amount of liveliness!

@@PixieDustPhD Sounds good. I booked my first SSR trip for this December--a full 16 months after going into contract!--and I'm going to try maybe Saturday and Sunday brunch and Sunday dinner. Like I said, Saturday evening is way too crowded and that might be a good opportunity to try the Turf Club, which I am curious about in a morbid way and feel I should try once to be able to speak to its apparent absurdity.
