Top tip: When prescribing magnesium sulphate make sure it isn't abbreviated as MgSO4, or it could be mis-read as morphine.

hi i reallly like ur videos. just a little thing i noticed isnt PTHrP made by squamous cell lung cancer rather than small cell lung cancer.

Great lecture as always! One question though: if you have familial hypocalciuria, shouldn't your PTH be low ?

Excellent video!God bless you! A question:does multiple myeloma actually increase alkaline phosphatase?Bc i thought mm lesions were purely osteolytic with no osteoblastic activity,hence bone scan has no place in mm diagnosis.

Greatjob Dr. Bolin. I have a question though. Isn't PTHrP released by Squamous Cell Lung Carcinoma? Correct me if I'm wrong.
@rahmanimj6985
@rahmanimj6985 7 лет назад
yes i think also that its the squamous cell lung carcinoma, not the small cell lung carcinoma. that was specified in the previous presentation of Dr Bolin "calcium metabolism". Is it right ?

Great video Dr Bolin. PTHrP is however released by squamous cell lung cancer and not by small cell lung cancer.

I'm pretty sure we know how Lincoln died... That's a neat fact for helping differentiate the MENs too.

I saw some resource that added "thrones" to "Stones, Bones, Moans, Psychiatric overtones" to help remember the increased urination with thrones = the toilet.

Thank you! Do you remember what ur pth number was? Mine is 35. Vit D is 16. Calcium 10.7 I keep having to fight. Finally found a surgeon who will do it. Getting my scan tomorrow.

You can have high calcium and normal PTH and still have Primary!! If your patients are taking Vitamin D supplements. Vitamin D suppresses PTH! Also age correct your calcium. Anything over 10 for a 60 yo is HIGH!!!!
