You don't shove your face into the face of anyone, let alone a guard, perhaps she thought he couldn't see her due to his helmet covering half his face. I found her behaviour strange.
@@margaretflounders8510Danger? Horse roughly 1,700 lbs. and always unpredictable. Horse bite? Large enough mouth, huge teeth, bite force enough to sever fingers if Horse is so inclined. Luckily the guard horses usually only nibble. But one well placed swing of that huge head can knock you down or worse. A small child, an older child, an adult are always at risk. And a few horses are notoriously nibblers. THE SIGN SAYS BEWARE. Use grey matter and heed it.
@@margaretflounders8510 Exactly. That lady didn't do a thing wrong. She let her child take two pictures and then he stood away in the corner to take his picture. He was never in harm's way at all. Even the police were smiling and enjoying watching him. Even when they went over to the other horse she didn't take him close. These two nuttiers yapping about her putting him in danger need to get their eyes checked. I've seen worse with grown adults. Good on this mom for teaching him right!!!
I totally agree with you Abdullah. She was right in his face. Totally disrespectful, awful and rude woman. Loved the little boy, he was so cute, even the Guard was hiding a smile Best part of your video. Thank you
I thought long and hard before contributing to this post. The word "intent" keeps coming to mind. She asked permission first, he nodded his consent. He did not, say "Step back" which I recall he's known to do along with giving that cool stare when he feels it's necessary. But, her energy was so soft and quiet (unlike the cultural group who jeer and harrass). Also, factor in culture...including my own. I'm African American, so I'm thrilled to see when people are comfortable approaching "The Chocolate Guard", as you all know I call him. Usually, my perception is people just stare. Someone even commented in one of the RU-vid responses, " A black guard?". You betcha! I think there's two. Now it would be nice to see a black female guard. When that happens, she will draw a lot of attention and popularity...I hope.
@ginettechiverton7113 He would have stomped and yelled, "Get back!" if he thought she was. He's infamous for doing that. As for her hair, still a very popular style for African-American women. We get expensive weaves to wear our hair like that. I'm loving seeing all of the long hair on women there in London. Everyone chops off their hair here.
@@masaniazura2131I liked your reply, I laughed when you said chocolate guard, now I am a white English woman, and was thinking would me, calling them chocolate guards be deemed as funny.. I very much like to see the chocolate guards, very handsome and smart, and yes a female chocolate guard would be wonderful to see. I don’t think the guard was offended or annoyed with this young lady
So now they can lean on the guards and be so close until it looks like your gonna kiss the guard. I guess it is more during 2024. What a demoralizing job.😔
I don't understand why they don't have a law saying it is illegal to touch a guard, his uniform, his horse or the reins and then post signs saying this and that violators are subject to arrest.
She should have been scolded by shouting down. Great disrespect and immaturity. If someone did that to her, she would most likely count it as an attack and insult on her person. She would probably call police. Grow up.
That said, she did actually thank him and he could have yelled at her, but he didn't. He's not a robot, he's intelligent and he has discretion about how he handles tourists.
I wish people would realize their true size. More women march up next to the Kings Guards as if they are a size 2. And then sling their giant bags into them as they turn away. It’s so embarrassing to watch. How must these Soldiers feel? It’s either a giant breast in their side or a giant bag in their backsides. I literally shake my head in disgust. “make Way” actually means to move all of your self out of the Guards way…
Yes, she was disrespectful and asinine, but the guard allowed her to act a fool, and to get into his personal space. As we've seen time and again, if you give these tourists an inch, they will take full advantage!
Do you realise, they are working soldiers. Under orders, not allowed to interact with the public. It’s not a show, they aren’t actors. They are kings guards….on duty. The ignorant tourists wouldn’t try that with guard in and other country in the world. I wish the powers that be would not allow such close proximity to these men and horses.
Thanks Abdullah Horses and guards coming in for duty from the parade grounds different and the police officer getting to hold the sword. The child was a little honey. Cheers~kiwi
Com certeza este guarda teve uma bronca dos seus supervisores, onde se viu isto gente,e ela guase que expira no rosto dele, falta de respeito das grades!!!
This is the same guard that did nothing or said nothing when tourist was holding the reins of the horse. He did nothing now as tourist posed next to him, touching him.smh
There didn't seem to be very many tourists out. Maybe, too chilly. In my are of North East USA, we had snow this week and freezing weather. I couldn't get in my car for a couple days because my doors were frozen. Don't have a garage.
Is it me or does all the horse having trouble settle down. Maybe close shop for a few days and give the horse some breathing room and rest. After all how would you feel putting up with all these idiots.
What I don't understand: 1) Why have these guards if people can walk past them? 2) I doubt very much these guards could do as much damage to intruders with those swords as those guards loaded down with artillery weapons --so why have them? Seems a waste of tax money
And yet they are a part of and help to attract massive numbers of tourists to the UK & NI who spend Millions of ££££ each year while here. As for the usefulness of the guards ..... they ARE guarding a military base ..... if you need to see how able they are to guard it - trot on down and make a fool of yourself. No disrespect but you would probably whinge and whine like other affronted tourists.
First duty starts at 10 am last ends for mounted Troopers at 4 pm , for those Troopers on foot 6pm in summer . They stay at Horse Guards while on 2 day duty then return to Hyde Park Barracks .
I can understand at the anger being thrown at the woman in the video. But i didn't see any action that's disrespectful nor had she done anything that's ignorant. In fact she asked permission from the guard if she could have a picture with him in which he nodded and when the picture was done she did give him a thanks. It's not that obvious at first but if you play it over and over there does seem to be a mutual respect by both parties. Plus this was i think in the early hours of the day and there were less tourists. So the King's Guard wasn't all that bothered or stressed. I've seen far too many people do worse than what the woman did, but she never did anything that should merit any hate towards her IMO. The King's guard should always be treated with respect and dignity but there are times at their discretion allow tourist to take photos as near as they can get. Still i think there should be Tour guides there so that they can help tourist on how act towards the guards and be able to tell how far a distance they should be allowed to take their photographs. We've seen a lot of videos of disrespectful behavior towards the guards that maybe it is clouding our judgement and we're seeing everything in the negative. I hope that doesn't happen as we will always be looking out for the bad in people and overlook the good.
seriously? first of all she was too close when she asked. in fact, she was in his face and when she stood next to him she was too close!! those things were disrespectful!! watch it again only this time pay attention
@@m3gan7737 Did it occur to you that maybe she got close to ask politely so others couldn't hear her? And afterwards she thanked him and he gave a very subtle nod. If the guard felt disrespected he would not have agreed to it or nodded to her when she thanked him.
@billiemoody4525 oh sure make an excuse for a disrespectful dummy!! She invaded a military soldier let alone a stranger's personal space! Twice. once when she was asking permission and once when she stood next to him!! If a strange man did that to her,she would have went ballistic!!
So much is camera angle, she didn't step fairly close , but she did ask I she could have a photo . And she gave nice thank you. We have become a would of haters , so many think and express negative thoughts/comments. The media seems to encourage this and the video people want to lure people in to watch their videos ; more viewers more money. Yes some people are rude and ignorant, and tourists are not always the best representatives of their country. The majority are descent well meaning citizens....
@tortilladepatatas8860 . . . *It WAS* a 'big deal'. That female invaded the Guards space and got up into his face! Appalling behaviour! The Guards aren't some Walt Disney attraction. They're REAL soldiers. Had some unknown person come up to YOU and did the same thing I bet you'd be screaming for the police and citing assault! Horse Guards isn't a branch of Walt Disney World. It's the *Ministry of Defence* and the Guards are trained soldiers. The property, the Horses and the Guards MUST be treated with respect!
ok fine, give me your address and i'll send a stranger over to your house and not only talk to you standing so close that they are in your face and then stand next to you so close that they are practically cuddling with you!! guaranteed , you would change your tune!!
