Here we have the new Pandora from Expert Sleepers. It continues the 8HP Eurorack line of analogue synth modules. Pandora is an interesting combination of vactrol based band pass filtering and MOSFET distortion. You can use it like a low and high pass, manipulate bandwidths, saturate from gentle warming to fuzzy and full on. Feedback provides a resonance around the filter while also allowing for oscillations, the creation of LFOs and adding interest resonant wobbles to envelopes among other interesting CV processing. Pandora can shape, oscillate, wobble, slew, distort, resonate and feedback both audio and CV. So experiment with both input types as shown in the video.

Hi Thomas, that's a good way to look at it, the leaning to pings, feedback, distortion and tuning of multiple filter points definitely plays into some test equipment technique.

Very cool module and as always an immaculate demo! Those Expert Sleepers modules are well thought out and have some features which aren't as wide spread, they're well built and very affordable. Almost perfect modules. ES is really on top of their game! Sadly i had to send the ones i had back wihtin the money back period of Thomman, because a financial emergency popped up, but i will definitely get them again, once my finances have recovered. :) I really miss the lorelei... Wish we could have heard a patch of it as a sound source, is it possible to coax a melody out of the thing ?
@DivKid
@DivKid Год назад
you can get it oscillating and sequence it. But it's not tracking 1v/oct so for quantised tunings you'll have to work hard to get it behaving that way. The vactrols on the filter controls aren't helping that either.
@Rockky67

Ah some more ‘Treasure’ for the rack
@DivKid
@DivKid Год назад
I don't think of this as Moog "gone west coast" it's still a Moog synth just with that extra flavour from the wave folder. There's the saw wave on the oscillator and the square, then the triangle and square on the LFO. There's also no CV control on the folder, hence me explore a few ways to vary and modulate that in the video.

I saw your comment and was replying to someone else but got a weird loading thing from RU-vid, so the comment shouldn't have gone as a reply to you. I'll copy/paste it into the right place. @Rockky67
@Rockky67 Год назад
@@DivKid No worries. Treasure tracks 1-5 all used so far, track 6 is “Amelia”. With the ground covered already maybe a BBD or Chorus? Much as I love Cocteau Twins I’d love anything that could help me do the guitar sound on Felt’s Primitive Painters. A line from that song “Trail of Disgrace” would be a great name for a lo-fi delay.
