Ditch The Selector Switch For A More Versatile Bass 

I just bought a Mustang PJ last week and realized blending the pickups is more desirable than merely switching between them. Thanks for this info.

I used the small knob for the blend pot on the pick guard and it covered the hole completely.

You could put stacked pots and gain all the advantages you want while keeping the switch. I love having the switch as rolling a pot mid tune is much more difficult than flicking a switch

Glad I found your video. I just picked up a 'special edition' Mustang off CL for $140! It's mint, (mint green too, pun intended). It still had the protective plastic covering on the parts. I didn't play it thru an amp and of course when I got it home I found that the switch was bad! Did your mod and all is well. Thanks.

Very interested in trying this on my Player PJ Mustang bass, either as seen here or just bypassing the switch and putting in a stacked volume control. I'm already getting usable tones, but I know there's more in there!

If you want it to be MORE versatile. Add a 5 way rotary knob
