*breathing into the mic* Good vid. Talk about that shoulder bump?

I did a race that had a hairpin like that but instead of turning onto road, you turn onto a bike path that can barely fit two people side by side. Pretty gnarly with fields of over 50 riders. Being in the 4/5 race was sketchy

1000w sprints after the hairpin are not necessary since people slow down before the next corner. Same advice you gave the guy from the previous video 😅

If you don't stay on the wheel after the hairpin there's no chance to move up until the head/crosswind section which is the last place you want to be gapped. Sprints out of the hairpin is required to maintain contact, it's what makes this course hard. The last video Justin was sprinting out of a corner because he was taking a bad line and not carrying his speed.

@NorCal Cycling Videos, I'm surprised to see you hitting 800W consistently out of the hairpin. Was that just to establish/maintain a break, or did you do that the whole race?

Looks like 800-900 was pretty common through the whole race: www.strava.com/activities/2472543588/overview

With such a tight corner, and aggressive racing, 800w is par for the course to maintain contact as the group gets back up to speed.

i heard there were so many crashes that day bc of field sizes and the technicality of the course

fyi: the "bane" part of Brisbane is pronounced more like ban than bane. Edit: maybe not for a Brisbane other than the one in Australia.

Is thanking the riders that raced twice that day really thanking them for pumping out their entry fee so you guys cash in on more prize? just poking the bear a little.
@NorCalCycling
@NorCalCycling 5 лет назад
Prize money usually isn't based on number of entries. It wasn't in this race.
