The real "enemy" or "hatred" of the community ironically actually comes from the SJW, the cliche nerd. They say they want to show that the FGC is accepting of diverseness but this is false. Its only what is convenient at the time, time and time this has been proven again. If anything the FGC has often tends HATED diverseness
I totally agree with you. It's the way today's society is moving, we getting more and more in the notation of giving out 'participation rewards' than actually reward the ones that actually do the hard work to be rewarded. Not to compare apples with raisins, the show 'Cobra Kai' is a great representation on what society is now compared to how it was back in yester- year.
I know exactly what you mean, the first time I went to a lan party for StarCraft : brood war as a kid the firs thing I thought was this = holy shit we are the most random assortment of "nerds" all from different jobs / walks of life and I thought it was so cool. Learning to play MvC2 in arcades I found suits/road workers to be the most non confirmative looking "gamers" in the 90s as a young man but they were clearly vets compared to my child like ass at the time lol. As you say the only thing that mattered was how good you were (or say character specialists) OR you got known for what you did for the community (or simply being apart of it)
If we didn't know you it was because you were new (welcome to the family!) or because you weren't apart of it hence the lack of knowledge, everyone learnt/knew the TOs, players/locals (good or bad) even for reasons like putting on a dope spread for everyone there (I still count that as community/helper) sure we got to know people on a deeper level personally but that isn't exactly part of the scene per say. I find that's where a lot of the push back comes from in the gaming community being othered/told "we don't like / aren't inclusive" BRO us weird assortment of random friends/family BEEN DOING THIS WITH EVEYONE THAT WANTED TO BE HERE SINCE BEFORE YOU GOT HERE BRUH!
Sadly that's led to a ton of negative coverage for us / hate directed at us. I think I can safely say that we couldn't care about the rest of the mess we just want to know if you want to play too. I never going to not want my salty runback because "your a furry" RUN THEM PAWS BACK THEN lol / Trans (what do I address this whooping to Sir or Mam eithers good for me cuz) your gay bro? good for you NOW EAT THIS MIXUP CUZ hahahahaha. ya.. and problem is so many of these dudes want a award if they do play and havnt done anything... i always think to ridiculous things like people on twitter talking about wanting to be a signed player and when they show their tournament results as proof of their street cred.. its nothing.. like oh i got top 10 once! sign me!
seriously dude you cant tell me any community that for years now has said i faked life or death stuff, has encouraged other people and been caught red handed encouraging other people to make up lies about me for money.. dudes actually getting caught trying to start a me to movement against me saying that clayton hates gay people and tried to get them to kill themselves is in any remote way normal or actually wants the community to be diverse. And whats more look at all the stuff ive actually contributed to the community and actually helped people.. no one can tell me that is even remotely normal behavior, let alone for a community that is welcoming of all people.

Ive litterally posted videos of me on this channel in tournaments, and you can look it up on youtube, you can look at these tournaments that I won all over america etc etc.. the haters really just have so many of them in on the lie, they try to basically scare people into looking at the proof. I mean look at buttmonger that dude tried to post i got laughed outta my scene. I won my last tournament while sick. The won winning was me, just like I was winning when I traveled all over america. Dudes are just delusional. On some level I wouldnt be surprised if dudes like these haters legit when they would come home from a tournament would make up some lie to their friends that they won. Wouldnt be surprising though look at that sf video where they gave fake results on stream that I showed because they didnt want to mention my name. Thats some baby shit. Beat them so bad years later they have to tell the audience fake results and I guess they just pray that no one then goes and looks up the videos of the tournament and match results. Ridiculous

The only thing that makes anyone special anywhere is exceptionalism. However most people aren't capable of that so we've opted for saying everyone is special for being whatever they are at the moment
I don't mind people being wacky and weird in the FGC. But it does take the winds out of its sails when you got commentators having to apologize because they called a player "them/they" as opposed to he/she/whatever. Diversity is fine as a background characteristic. However, focusing on diversity like it actually matters wrt to fucking videogames is absolutely toxic cancer that does nothing but drive people apart. It's not what makes people different that makes gaming communities fun- it's the SHARED interest of those in the community- you know, the things that binds people together. I hear what you're saying and I agree wholeheartedly.
