just finished the game yesterday and you're right, that moment was pure bliss and kindness. The end while interesting is to rushed to my taste. this was by fare the best moment of my game.

Absolutely. The story could have ended there and I'd be satisfied tbh.

I just beat the game and I'd say the ending was great but Lohse singing was the happiest moment. Love the ending, but Lohse's arc was when I felt 'the journey was worth it', if ya know what I mean.

Yeah haha xD. I remember when she started singing this I just sat back in my chair listening being pretty happy with the situation after freeing her.

Fear not this night is another fantastic ending song for a game campaign (GW2).

The best reward I have ever received in ANY quest!! The spirit of her freedom resonating with the beat was AMAZING!! I wish I could relive it 🥹

For me as mage, I can only imagine that feeling as the loss of silence. I found it was seeing her change as the story went forward that really caught me in the feels. Yeah , she doesn't have the "most" story interactions, especially early on, but they kept it compelling. If you asked her to sing before freeing her, and hearing her choke up and cough, unable to sing as she had before, seeing her black out occasionally, having her demon take over and try to kill perfectly fine people like Saheila was downright concerning. By the second Island, meeting Jahan and seeing just exactly WHAT Adrahmalik was, and her joking attitude about the matter the whole time suddenly being flattened as the reality of what shes facing steamrolls her, as it all clicks just what exactly she's up against as she returns from the void she was left in after the exorcism. That, and the lore behind it is so well crafted. You see what the demon did when it wreaked terror on the world after it was called, just how much it ruined Bloodmoon Isle. You see the depths of its trickery as a master demon-hunter was so completely fooled by the creature's masquerade that he shared his most intimate time with this Doctor. Stories of his life, of the memories they'd had together as friends. The gravity of the situation never abating- Lohse must NOT ascend under any circumstances with that demon still walking Rivellon. If she tries, you MUST stop her. And then throughout the Nameless Isle, worried when she finally decides she wants to ascend that I won't be able to make her see the danger she'd be putting everyone....everything into...and that I wouldn't be able to justify trying to stop her if I couldn't persuade her. The time spent with her on the lady vengeance, everything, and you always know its just a constant threat, that she might be suddenly taken from you, maybe even forced by your hand. You get to Arx these feelings still un-abated, and suddenly Mals comes in, shows you a way, a chance, a hope to best this creature- the cost of all of those souls he has taken. An entire corner of Oblivion, a realm of waxen horror, populated by thousands of the damned, and that choice- To try and best the great arch-demon from the moral "High-Ground", or free those he's damned and weaken him significantly, only (justifiably at that) costing you your morality. And then you meet him. This....demon. the monster thats been holding her back this whole time (I chose the path that would most ensure this creatures demise, and Lohse's reaction to his weakened state was indescribably satisfying). That fight had the most meaning in the entire game to me. Stopping Mord Akaim from his deathfog, voidwoken plot? Childs play. Killing Alexander 2, 3, 4 times even, to prevent another Lucian? Striking down the few Eternals who survived in a desperate ploy to retain our world? The fight for who would ascend to divinity- how the world might end- or endure? Moving, mayahps. But they could not hold a proverbial candle to the death of Adrahmalik. Killing the demon that had enslaved so many, threatened the world in its own right, and seeing a free Lohse- And then it all just comes flooding out- She's free. Every pang of terror, every held breathe during one of her interactions, all of it, in this song.

"Hey, a hot redhead." ...Well... I know who my companion for literally every run is.

@@contown731 You're not entirely wrong, but up until the last isle I thought her to be one of the most lacking companions, quite literally just a pretty face- The story choices it presented, and her free spirit afterwards made it interesting, and the song absolutely nailed it.

@@Dave-C21 I agree her story wasn't terribly interesting until the last third or so, but I did appreciate she had a spunky/fun personality to balance out how grimdark shit can get in this game.

I am playing Lohse, yea, maybe I'm missing a lot not having her as a companion, yet she still manages to comment on stuff even as the main (avatar) and after beating Adrahmahlik and looting her lute from his body, I immediately used it and the song started. Even standing in that creepy house of his, next to the demon's dead body, this song felt just awesome. This is one of the reasons, why I love this game.

I just got to that part in my first playthrough and I honestly think it's the sweetest thing i've seen in a video game to this day. EDIT: Finished game. On second playthrough.

Though this particular song will come after you beat the demon. I agree with you about her performing other songs with her "helpers".

Also the "drums" are her magic making noises and pulses of light.

Glad to hear that you are feeling well. Historically speaking, possessed were people with severe mental illnesses who were misunderstood due to lack of scientific knowledge. DOS 2 takes it literally and looks at it through a high fantasy lens. Obviously, this was probably not the intention of the writers, but the parallels are interesting. To me, visiting the demon’s realm and seeing millions of candles is Lohse realizing that she is not the only one. This severely weakens the demon inside her. When Malady reassures her that with her friends by her side, she can undoubtedly defeat it, it felt almost fourth-wall-breaking. My favorite observation is that in the epilogue, it is revealed that she is still a host, in other words, she still has issues. But the difference is that she is well equipped to battle them now.

she sings the entire song at the end of the campaign with the credits and stuff reacting to it and it's beautiful.

@@CritLoren If you play as her, after beating Adrahmahlik she can sing whenever you want, using her lute looted from the demon's body, but I guess as a companion, you can also ask her to sing for you (through the "sing for me" option in her conversation, I guess), though I can't say, I still have to get her as a companion yet in my next playthrough.

I feel the same, whenever I feel the need, I stop somewhere (Arx square is a good place, although crowded and sometimes loud), I use her lute and just "... LISTEN, do you feel it?".

It's really tough between her, Beast, and Fane for me. Fane's also clearly the developers' favorite because he got the figurine and his story is the most tied to the main plot. Red Prince is pretty great also. The only character who I really didn't care about was Ifan.

My first run was with a custom MC and Sebille, Lohse, and Red Prince as companions. To gradually earn the respect of Red, and the trust of Sebille was great. But Lohse was down with whatever right from the get-go. Unlike other companions, she isn’t a part of some great prophecy. She doesn’t carry the future of an entire race on her. She’s a traveling performer. The twist is that she’s not just a performer. Such a breath of fresh air. Hope to see her romance as Fane on my second playthrough.

@@chaosrex1487 Really? Beast is annoying, and Sebille is just...no, please no. I kind like Ifan, but my favorites are Red Prince (I find him comic at times), Lohse (for obvious reasons) and Fane (it's hard at times to agree with him and his personality, but I like him overall).

@@chaosrex1487 I kind like Ifan. The one I rally don't like is Sibelle (I don't remember how to spell). Beast is kind annoying... But what do I do to avoid choosing? I downloaded a mod where I can put up to 6 characters (more, actually.. don't remember now) on your party.

@@chaosrex1487 Ifan and Lohse are must-haves for me. I always play with a custom character, so my third slot typically goes to Red Prince, or possibly Sebille. Beast is kind of boring to me, and Fane is honestly too whiny and rude for me to tolerate having around.

I love how the game goes "yeah, decide if you want to kill this woman, now decide whether it's worth to kill a father together with a criminal. Tough moral choice, amirite-hahaha... Now, fuck you. Kill everyone, take it or leave it." And you thought the first two choices were hard.

Many people do consider finishing losh quest to be more emotionnaly rewarding than finishing the game^^

leybi but we didn't spend 70+ hours getting to know the composer. The song itself is good but not legendary, it is the journey with Lohse that makes it really special.

Indeed, however with DOS2 having so much content it is likely that most players haven't even got to Arx yet, let alone completed what is perhaps the hardest fight of the game. So they won't experience this song for themselves, which is a real shame.

yeah, there are a lot missing songs in the sound track DLC's and the quality of the design are really low, ugh.

It's a shame you heard it here first, without given too much away she sings it to the group and it's one of those moments like in Sacred 2 where you just want to play it again, I think I've asked her to play it for the group about 8 times now.

Yeah, I didn't know what to think when I asked her to play something and this unfolded. I was in awe. :D It may not be the most complex song but for all I experienced with Lohse during our journey to come to this point it hit me really hard. :3
