Others are showing taking the heat shield off. You provided a simpler alternative. Thank you for posting. Video was clear and you made the job look “simple”.
Thank you for the video. I would suggest you write in the title Bank 2, Sensor 1 (so people looking for this sensor will find your video). This is the P0037 code that shows up. I googled and could not find the location of Bank 2, Sensor 1 and was lucky to stumble into your video. Thanks again
Bank 1 sensor 1 is located in the same spot but it's the one in the back u can only get to it underneath the car. Bank 1 means it's located on the fist exhaust manifold which is located in the back of the engine bay. bank 2 is in the front of the engine bay by the radiator like in this video. Hope this helps. When it say sensor 1 it's means it's the first sensor located near the exhaust manifold and sensor 2 is usually located after the catalytic converter on that same bank. Some cars with dual exhaust have 4 o2 sensor most 4 cylinder have only 2.
With o2 sensor you have to make sure you get the right one or you can put a new part and still get the check engine light to turn on. Toyota loves to put air fuel ratio sensors that are different from regular 02 sensors make sure you are specific about what sensor you need. If the problem continues then a new catalytic converters will fix the problem in my case po420 is always a bad clogged catalytic converter you can test the cat using a vacuum Guage with an O2 adapter plug for the vacuum Guage turn the car on if the pressure rises you have a clogged catalytic converter or you can always buy a heat gun and measure inlet temperature with outlet temperature of the catalytic converter i believe it's like 20% difference the outlet should be cooler than the inlet that will let you know the cat is working properly. Hope this helps
Just to clarify. You erased it because you know for sure it was that sensor, otherwise and in other words. Is better if you run it for few minutes to see if it goes away automatically.
