Hello everyone hopes to find you well. Today I want to share with you the painting of my 2013 KIA Soul using SPEEDOKOATE Single Stage Nardo Gray. Hope you enjoy!
Great job, brother! I've been watching a lot of paint videos, and this is one of the best.I like your chill approach to the job.The end result was worth it!
Thanks for watching truly is an awesome product. Very pleased with the results still looks brand-new as if though it was painted yesterday. I am very satisfied. Stay safe my brother.👍🏽✌🏽
Thanks for watching, I’m getting ready to put up a new video by tomorrow showing new color of rims on my KIA and an update on the finish of the Nardo gray paint job. Stay safe out there.👍🏼✌🏼
I have a red 2012 Kia Soul, and I'd love to do a new paint job on it and striping. I love your approach to all the things. Only wish I had a garage to do it myself. I'm subbed now. I can see it IS possible. Thank you for this very well done video. I'd love to see more about the inside decals and such. :)
I’m pretty happy with this product even today it still looks like I just painted it yesterday. Color retention is held. The shine is wonderful and it’s been through Texas heat rain, dirt, etc. and many washes very pleased. Thanks for watching. Stay safe and sound.👍🏽✌🏽
Hey great video, love your preamble about what equipment/paint you used to help other DIYers! After a year, how is your paint holding up, especially after a few washes?
Thanks for watching I agree the Nardo gray came out better than I expected as for your hood in all honesty should you decide to tackle it yourself it truly isn’t that difficult just a little time consuming with the prep work. Stay safe and sound ✌🏽👍🏽
@@infamousk489 If you don’t have any rust or clearcoat that is peeling 400 grit will be perfectly fine if you have any areas that need to have body work done after the bodywork I would do 80,150,200 and then follow up with 400 grit and prime. This should leave you with a perfect finish for painting. Good luck and let me know how it turns out👍🏽
I wouldn't use 80 grit, maybe 180 grit for the hail dings and then clean, body filler, sand again with 320 and then finish off smooth with 400. If your paint is not bad then you can start out with 400, 600 or 800 grit which will all allow proper adhesion as long as you don't leave any shiny spots (unsanded) on the vehicle.
Great job there. It kills me when people day you have to have a 60-80 gallon compressor and a expensive spray gun. The issue with small compressors is that it may over heat the compressor and kill it but it can be done. It just requires a slower process of spraying. Same thing with a cheaper gun. People can use a cheap $10 spray gun, just may mess up the paint here and there and may require a spot job here and there. The main thing when using cheaper guns and smaller comoressors, is just take your time and try your best. If you make a mistake somewhere, just leave it and keep going. You can always just spot that later on. Keep up the great work
Great video! I am planning to paint my yaris with nardo grey as well. Just wondering, did you also paint door jambs of your cars? I'm not sure whether gonna do it first or after the external job paint. Thanks!
Thanks for watching, I didn’t do my door jams. I was but decided not to. Paint still holding up great! Looks like I just painted it yesterday and with it facing the Texas heat, rain, dirt and grime it has held up well. Good luck with painting your Yaris the Nardo grey will look great on it! Stay safe and sound.👍🏽✌🏽
Thanks for watching, sure would love to go over for a visit mate, it’s beautiful there! The color was definitely a good choice. I’m very satisfied with it thank you for the comment. Stay safe.✌🏽👍🏽
Bro that paint job came out really beautiful. i wanna paint my 97 Camry i also bought the paint from Speedokote right know the car is black i wanna painted Metallic Blue I hope mine comes out nice.
Ganesh, thanks for watching the speedocoat product is truly a remarkable paint. I am very satisfied with the results even still today it looks like new. I would not be too concerned as long as you follow the small steps I’ve presented in this video and prepare the vehicle properly, your paint results should come out great! Just take your time and be patient and get all your preparation done properly and your results should come out just fine. Good luck, stay safe and let me know how it turns out.👍🏽✌🏽
Thanks for watching it truly came out better than what I expected but I owe it all to the product. It laid down real smooth, no orange peel, and with the fast reducer, the drive time was quick, therefore not allowing any bugs to attach themselves to it. To answer your question the gun came with a 1.0 mm tip. Stay safe and sound.👍🏽✌🏽
Thanks for watching, yes I’m surprised and happy with the results, the paint job came out better than I expected. The primer I used is from Dupli-Color Primer Sealer in spray can purchased from NAPA auto parts. I mentioned it in the video. Worked out great. Today the paint job looks as if I painted it yesterday, no chipping or fading and has a brilliant shine! Stay safe and sound.👍🏽✌🏽
came from ur amazon review on gun n surprised u didnt primer before sprayinf the single stage hows it holding up so far? No bleed through or chemcial reaction to the spray paint primer/sealer?
Thanks for watching car still looks as if I just painted it a few hours ago I’ve already washed it twice it’s already experienced some rain and here in Texas some very high heat over 100° and still looks excellent. I didn’t prime the whole vehicle since there was no need to. There was no rust or any rough spots from the clearcoat on the original paint the only spots that needed priming where the spots that I put body filler. In all honesty I’m quite surprised how it came out! I’m very happy with the results that’s why I left a review thanks for stopping by and checking out my channel hope this information helps you. Stay safe sound👍🏽✌🏽
Wow... That thing looks damn sexy now 29:00 . Maaco is gonna hate you BIG time! Truly appreciate, no Admire your will to DIY and perseverance. Keep it always this way and best wishes.
Thanks for watching, lol you hit the nail on the head! Yes was slightly soar from lower back and shoulders. Not too bad tho. It took a little longer than planned but all in all very satisfied. Stay safe and sound👍🏽✌🏽
That is a damn good job. How is the paint holding up (is it garaged or just driveway in the open with sun beating on it)? Even after just 2 coats the thing looked great. There are actual paint shops that would look like shit after. You did it in your garage and it looks excellent. Where is the video after the other coats? Did you post up the finished project? I laughed when you started saying you dont give a damn what someone says about your spraygun and compressor. You know someone was bound to come here and act like some expert...🤣
Thanks for watching, yes the paint job still looks as if I just painted it yesterday. I live in Texas and it stays parked out in the drive way. With all the heat this car faces paint still looks great, has not faded, or chipped through rain, heat, dirt and several washes. Very good product if your looking to paint a car, and as you can see from my video, simples tools any DIY person can do and results come out great. Thanks you for your feedback and stay safe and sound. 👍🏽✌🏽
@@solisapaul Where is the video showing the finished car? I watched and was looking foward to seeing it completed and then video ended. Do you happen to have a final video on this? If not can you make one briefly. I think many people who watch this are interested in seeing it when done because it was such a great job so we want to see how it turned out at the end. Thanks for getting back to me with reply on that.
Thanks for watching it all depends on what the finish looks like prior to sanding, if it’s just in need of a new clearcoat due to the fact that the old one is either peeling or faded you will need a smooth out all the rough areas followed with primer and then you’re finish and follow with the clearcoat if you’ve got rust, you will need to sand it down to the metal and prime, paint and clear coat; if your car looks anything like mine where the finish was in perfect condition you just wanted a different color then all it requires is a very light sanding like in my video, followed with a paint and clearcoat or all in one like I used, hope this information helps. Thanks stay safe and sound.👍🏽✌🏽
Thanks for watching, it’s holding up great! Very pleased with the product. I’m planning on doing an upgrade to my car horns, hopefully this weekend. You’ll be able to see how well it still looks like I just painted it. Stay safe.👍🏽✌🏽
@@solisapaul Good to know! How's the actual finish, almost as smooth as the original paint job? I've been reading that it's not as easy to get a glossy/wet look with single stage. And that you can't really buff the finish.
@@jbmflash Being that I used such a small compressor the finish dried to a very high gloss there were some small dry spots since I used a Fast Dry but after light wet sand with 400 grit and followed with a buff it was more than perfect. Im truly happy with this product. My son just bought a small ford ranger and we our going to be painting it with the same product just white not Nardo gray. When he is ready I will be using medium dry not fast dry since Texas heat is very hot. This will help eliminate the dry spots I mentioned. Over all I’m truly satisfied with the results.
Thanks for watching. I couldn’t agree more I’m very satisfied with this product it lays down nice the mixture is perfect which does not allow runs and it’s easy to work with and the results are amazing in my opinion. Very happy with my new paint job. Stay safe and sound👍🏽✌🏽
@@mississippiwrenches295 Thanks for watching at this point I would honestly have to agree this product is great lays very smoothly, dry time is excellent and the gloss retention last! Looks like I just painted it yesterday. Stay safe and sound.👍🏽✌🏽
