Most people go WAY over the top on their home theaters from what I've seen. Your's is sensible and properly set up.

Looks pretty nice my dude. One suggestion which will help immensely: Consider acoustic treatments. I can hear through my headphones that your room sounds very “active.” Using 3-4” thick sound panels around 2x4’ in size will help with that, clear up dialogue, and help with high frequency reverb. It’s likely the next biggest upgrade you can do, even beyond new speakers or amps. Look into diy panels. Super easy and cheap. If you’re not handy. Check out GIK acoustics.

Yes, this I think is a must. I have been reading up on this too. Thanks for the confirming what I was suspecting already. I will certainly do a video on this.

Beautiful room my friend. Congrats 👏👍 If it were my room I just put panel acoustic (it's a must) and also would add a power amp at least for the LCR, and better subs. Subs that goes down at least to 20hz would change your way to watch movies. Those Klipsch are ok, but far from be a "movies" subwoofers.

Thanks for the suggestions...I'm already considering some of them.

A big thanks for your efforts... Hey bro I'm from India. I'm planning to build my dedicated theater room. I'm requesting you to please make a calibration video for how to calibration in professional way.. if you done this it's helps a lot for me... Once again thank you :)

Hello, for calibration, I just followed the Yamaha instructions and that pretty much did the trick (after a few attempts). Still needed some minor tweaking to get it to sound the way I wanted...but very minor

If you painted the door near the screen a darker color, there will be better black levels for the images. I painted my door a medium grey and saw better image results.

Nice room. Some good planning & thought went into it. I have a some comments though. Having a dedicated theater, you really should've gone with 4 height speakers. The extra 2 make a huge difference. I've had it both ways. Also, putting the subs in those "cubbies" takes away all the room gain you would normally receive if they were just in the corners. It would've helped since those subs are on the weak end of SPL. If you want them "unseen", go in wall subs. Your rear speakers are dipole. As dipole speakers can sound good as surround speakers, sound imaging is much better with a standard speaker for rears. Lastly, look into acoustical treatments. Diffusers, 2d & 3d absorbers will make a big difference.

Awesome. Thank you very much for the tips. I really appreciate it. I do have the rear heights wired and will need to get that going.

Nevermind rear Heights the only time I turn my height speakers on... is if I'm listening to object-based audio content, but do the extra height channels make a huge difference, I wouldn't say huge! It really all depends how good your base layer speakers are. I spent over £2,000 just so I could have rear heights and was it worth it, probably not especially considering there's hardly any object-based audio content out there anyway!

Awesome setup. Hoping to finish my room which is almost the same as yours. A few differences though. I am curious about what “CAD” drawing program you used to plan and draw out your setup? Thanks in advance and good luck in your journey!

The plans for the theater and the basement were created using SketchUp. There is a free version of the tool and it’s fairly easy to use.

Lovely setup....just ordered an Emotiva basx a3 power amp for my front sunshade, this will free up the channels on my Denon 3700 to allow me to add 2 further height channels to my existing 2. Think ill be looking at some accoustic treatment then. I've heard there are big audio gains to be had from a small investment.
@MakingHomeBetter

Thanks for sharing. Less background music, please. Your dialogue is tough to hear. I have the same complaint about Chris Nolan movies. Also, where are your acoustic treatments? That's the most important part of a room like that, ESPECIALLY behind the front stage.

Thanks for the feedback. The treatment is next on the list.

I like the color scheme and simple design of your theater. Do you have a issue since Klipsch are rear ported? I have a vey similar size room and wanted to do a similar setup because I have some Klipsch towers for the front stage but I was a bit worried it may be a problem using them. Also how far from the back wall are you speakers sitting? Thanks!
@MakingHomeBetter
@MakingHomeBetter 2 года назад
Thank you. The front speakers only have a few inch of space to the wall. I love the sound I get, however I don't have a reference to compare.
@pf5658
@pf5658 2 года назад
@@MakingHomeBetter You are welcome sir and thank you for replying . I understand you have nothing to compare. I was just worried about them being rear ported speakers would create issues placed in a cavity behind the screen since most speakers behind screens are in walls or front ported.

Absolutely not getting the shelving unit in front of the theater by the Screen. I’m assuming this is a dedicated Theater? but we are now storing blankets right in front next to the Screen. 🤷‍♂️ wouldn’t a closet be better? And just leave that as a normal wall in between the Screen? To each his own.

Seemed like a good idea at the time rather than having blocked in space....but they don't get much use still other than holding the throws pillows that are used in the theater
