UPDATE 2018/04/21:
I've created a new 3D printed version, the source from that Arduino sketch can also be used when building a clock like the one in this video (it basically works the same). Be aware that the 3D printed version is not very bright in daylight situations where the one in this video is ok at daylight.

This is a video about making a homemade 7 Segment Digital Clock. The clock can be controlled with a custom made app that's wirelessly connected to the clock through bluetooth. For cutting out the pieces I've used my homemade CNC machine. Components that I've used are:
Arduino (Nano)
Bluetooth module: HC-05
Real time clock: DS3231
LED strip: WS2812B 1 meter 30 RGB LED's
Temperature and Humidity Sensor: DHT11

@@rubynaxela8524 haha :) small semantic issues... DIY is the ubiquitous adjective for homebuilt products now. People will not search 'DIM' in the youtube for projects such as these. I am an example myself. This is exactly what I wanted, and I searched 'DIY' :)

Maybe not everybody but a small CNC like this one would set you back about £200.... Paid more than that for drills before.

Thank you for setting the height on your table saw blade correctly. Too many people don't do that -- too many injuries...

It's interesting that you say that. Back in the 80's we were taught to keep the blade as high as possible, with a blade guard. It seems that no one ever uses a blade guard anymore, myself included. The reasoning for keeping the blade as high as possible was to reduce the chance and effects of kick back. With the way they have the blade set here, if it kick's back, the wood is flying! And likely firing right at you and taking the skin on your fingers with it. With a blade as high as possible, it was cutting on the down stroke and less violent kick back effects. The other issue is where the cutter places themselves whilst cutting.

I was trying to do this,but my pixel leds are not giving all white when upload to test white color,some are red,orange and some aren't working.When connect to computer powersupply it gives multiple colors by blinking,what to do now?

It's a high level DIY project if you ask me. Stretching the definition of DIY lol. Not cost effective for me to buy all the tools and computing needed, but handy if you got access to that stuff. Very impressed and good end product tho 👍

Exellent work. Great, and very beautiful. As a graphic designer I wish I had a way to design some other clocks to you. For example: round clock, 2 digits for hour in one line, 2 smaller digits for minuts, in 2nd line. ( I mean two rows of two digits each, one ander the other) all of this in the middle of a round clock, with a circular frame that blink for seconds!!! Blink per secund. I can see it work in my imagination...

excuse me, mr. leon. If you don't mind, may i ask you the complete arduino code for this 7 Segment Digital Clock project? i have visit your github account ( github.com/leonvandenbeukel/7-Segment-Digital-Clock/blob/master/DigitalClockV2.ino ) but i found that the DigitalClockV2.ino code isn't complete, especially for the command to show temperature, humidity, change color, and bluetooth. Hey Leon van den Beukel, the Breadboard Schematic is incorrect. There is no need for the R4 330 Ohm Resistor, as the LED strip: WS2812B already has a Buil-In Resistor. You're just adding more Voltage drops. this is a good project. I will be making one some time, but with a way better feature that has not been seen on the Internet yet. I am not going to discuss this feature yet, sorry to you all as it is my idea and pretty sick to do :D My Digital clock will take a while, as I have other important projects to make first.

OK I downloaded it but its a counter, any chance to add stopwatch? You know... set 2h and push start... I need build it to my event and there will be conquest every 2h, thats why this type of huge clock will be great to show people home many minutes left to next one.

COOL PROJECT BUDDY.. KEEP ON POSTING SUCH NICE THINGS, SINCE THE CLOCK KITS AVAILABLE FROM CHINA ARE NOT DURABLE, THE TINY SMD LED GIVES UP VERY OFTEN.. Why not printing and stl with the structure all in one? Why cutting pieces and sticking them. Do you have the measures i could do the stl if you eant to print it any size you want

How is "SET CURRENT DATE/TIME FROM PHONE TO CLOCK" button in the bottom of your app work? I need this function cuz don't have RTC module...some advise please

The phone transmits it's current date and time to the arduino and the arduino sets the RTC module. So you still need an RTC module.

RTC's suck. Better top use a board with WiFi (Like ESP 8266) and get time updates from the internet. RTC's drift and have to be corrected.

I programmed all by myself. I defined numbers as array of numbers. It's a bit tricky. Try to declare functions to light a pattern at specified offset.

Great! But 2 things could be added/corrected: - Dots are brighter than digits. This could be corrected in source code by sending to the dots less brightness. - It would be even more great to add light sensor. To have "Auto" brightness mode. Could you implement these things?
