Nice job! If I may make a suggestion, I suggest that you bleed the yellow hose before you charge the system to remove the air and moisture from the hose so it isn't pushed into the system. To do this, connect the can to the yellow hose and open the can. With the can open, loosen the yellow hose at the gauge set briefly. 1-2 seconds should be plenty. This pushes the air and moisture out of the yellow hose so it doesn't get into the system when you open the valve. Other than that you did a great job though!

Yes, my question is how to you bleed the air from the yellow charge hose when switching cans? The R1234yf hoses don't have fittings that spin like R12 or R134 making it very hard to crack the line and tighten it as you release a little refrigerant to bleed off the air. Thanks..............
@Masterfixer
@Masterfixer 4 года назад
The engineering of r1234yf doesn't require bleeding else, the gauge set should be engineered to bleed out the little vacuum in the pipe before charging the system with refrigerant.
@bananapuffcream1
@bananapuffcream1 2 года назад
@@Masterfixer not true. You absolutely do need to bleed the line. After you remove the lines from the car and from the refrigerant source, the lines are cleared and now no longer a sealed system. Therefor there is now air and moisture in the line. It has nothing to do with the engineering of the manifold, it has to do with atmospheric pressure. You have to bleed the line if you don’t want to introduce additional moisture and air into the system otherwise it is pointless to vacuum down the system before the charge.

I had to replace my condenser, so all the refrigerant left the system. If I just buy a can, and refill it.. would it work? Or do I have to do steps before refilling it. I have the same refrigerant

Once you open the system you have to pull vacuum you have to refill while thing after that.

What's the pressure readings you get after recharging the system on the low side & high side? Some said the pressure on the high side is about 1450 psi for r1234yf, is that correct?

Thanks for the video - I was curious where the blue tube is connecting? I thought you would just need the red line attached and the yellow to the can? Thanks for the video I'm trying to tackle this on my 2017 M2 - I don't have any damage and it is still 'sort of cold' it just feels like it needs to be recharged a bit.
@MotorsportInspired
@MotorsportInspired 2 года назад
Hi, You need both lines hooked in order to pull vacuum, but if you just want to recharge then. You only need to connect to Low pressure side which is blue line you absolutely do NOT want to connect to red side which the high side when recharging. Thanks 🙏

Can you post a link or the size/type of fitting that you have on the R-1234yf can tap And also the fitting that you used to connect the vacuum pump to the yellow hose?

Fitting needed for the tap can is listed in the video description, as well as the gauge set needed for this procedure.

@@MotorsportInspired thanks for the reply, I’ve been checking all weekend for your response…. The adapter link you provided in the description only contains the can tap valve, it does not list the adapter that is screwed on it (see 3:45 of your video so you know what I am referring to). Please send me a link to that adapter or the model or size of it.

@@evelynedwin2472 Hi, sorry for the late response, the tap adapter I linked does not need that can hose adapter because it’s already the correct size for the hose fitting. I only had it because I bought tap can adapter with incorrect thread size.

Is there a difference in condensers between r34a & r1234yf freon

Hi sir, how you going to put the PAG oil?
@MotorsportInspired
@MotorsportInspired 4 года назад
Hi, I poured oil in the yellow hose before connecting can, after connecting the can refrigerant will push the oil from hose into the system. I added some each time I connected new can in total about 2 ounces. Other way of adding oil is buying injector syringe with hook up adapter and injecting it that way. Either way works well. Thank you for watching 🙏

Not if you release so of the refrigerant, in the yellow line and looses top to push all the air out before releasing refrigerant into the system into system. FYI it’s been almost 3 years since this and ac is running to this day.

I heard that you had to evacuate the entire system take out all the oil vacuum it completely then add everything back in so by the time you buy all these parts all the stuff that's going to run up to about $300 and I found that they shop with your $550 so it's good savings

@@andreymelnik9824 you should monitor weigh the can to calculate how much you put in so far and see if it’s within factory spec, if it’s not taking any more Freon that might mean you overcharged the system and it’s a ticking time bomb at that time, the only way to monitor is to keep weight the Freon cans to see show much you dispensed into the system.
