My back hurts just watching you do this . Great job as always Andrew . Your skills show off a lot on these projects. Looks amazing and y’all will be able to enjoy this for a long time ..👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
No surprise, another one of your projects that is looking beautiful. Of course your perfectionism is showing in the quality build of that deck that will last for years. I see two things in your near future. One: belly flops, Two: Air Ruger jumping in the pool to join you, also jumping in the pool whenever he wants. Once again, great job and see you this afternoon on the live stream.
Just a home owner that does a brilliant and well built job. If only all owners could build to this standard. Saying that some builders struggle to. Great Job look forward to seeing the railings style. 👏 Wet Spaghetti Noodles, so true... it is good stuff though. Looks brilliant. Some plants in them corners will be nice
Just my thoughts but I think it would look really cool to use nautical rope between the posts for fencing and nautical solar caps for the posts! Catch you on the live tonight at 7PM EST! Always a good time!
Wow, that looks fantastic, great work, Andrew! I loved the point you made about the expansion and contraction, it’s that kind of knowledge that really makes a difference for us DIYers.
We also went with Trex for our deck in a coffee color and we love everything about it, I also went with the picture frame style edge and your right after you get the railing up you won't see any of the mismatched gaps! Looking forward to the next few videos, good job as always bud!!
Hey Mr Doug..... Now I going to have to get me some of these horses 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 I just don't know if I will use them enough.... It would be funny if Andrew puts these out in the pasture and tell Miss Tiffany look. I got you some horses ahahaha 😜😂😂🤣🤣🤣
@5150cash lol, creative idea Cash! They are super nice. I had a set that was a pain to open and adjust. These are great. Might put a saddle on one and join Tiffany! Lol. Hope you're doing well, my friend.
Amazing as always, makes me smile to see your progress. We appreciate the attention to detail and you sharing with us. From one home owner to another, TY sir for the inspiration / motivation to try and dream.
Mate, watching from a very wet summer in Wales in the UK, I am so envious of your land and the weather. Thunderstorm then the sun is back out, and crack on. Your vids are great👍🏻
What a great job! Well done and I agree that the 12 inch spacing is a key point for the overall support and look of a well designed deck! I’m sure looking forward to the finished project!!
I know that this deck is completed but there is a company that makes a fastener that drills a counterbore hole and provides plugs to fill it after the screw is installed. The ones you used are probably just as effective and probably less expensive. Looking great, can't wait to see it finished, I know you and yours will get many years of joy out of this.
Great video as usual..my son is at the beginning stages of building his home and I reminded him about the 1' spacing with the framing when using trex like you did...its not structural like wood so need the extra support.
Lookin good man. I was wondering how much the wood would show through the slats and if it would have been better to paint the wood first, but even with this camera angle you can only see the wood through a few runs. The boards definitely suck up tighter/closer than I thought they would and covers up nicely. All's it needs now is a big ol ruger hole underneath for him to roll around and get filthy in.
Fantastic! You sold me a pair of sawhorses during this episode. Great job on the deck. I mentioned it would get hot. Do yourself a favor and don't put a glass top table out on it. 😉
Great video Andrew. I'm afraid this one is going to cost me some money. I would love to convert my present pressure treated deck to composite. It really looks nice buddy. Thanks for sharing.
Looks fabulous Adam. The expansion gaps at the miters are just the cost of doing business in the heat. There's no way around it. I also have a Bosch rangefinder , mine has a 50 ft range down to a 16th of an inch. That's amazing 👍
Great job! Do you have any plans on putting up some sort of shade cloth in the future? Something similar to what you have on the porch side wall? To help with the surface getting too hot? Anyways, just a random thought, but I can’t wait to see what it looks like with the railing up! Again, great job and looking good!
I’ve found from experience that in the hot summer weather of the south, composite decking gets soft and warps from the weight of walking on it. I had to put double the floor joists for support. 105 degree heat is hard on plastic composites.
If the gaps in your joints are really driving you crazy, you can buy colored silicone caulk that should match that grey very closely. There are dozens of colors to choose from, or you can add some dye to white or clear caulk to perfectly color match the decking. Smear a little bit into the gaps and it will squeeze and stretch with the temperature changes. As always, your project looks great. You should be proud of yourself sir!
@@TKCL Yeah, I get it. It's likely nobody will ever notice, except you will notice. That's how I am with projects... I like things perfect, even if it's just for me. That deck looks bitchin.
Deck looks better than I imagined. I can see how beautiful it's going to be with the landscaping. I like what Crystal suggested in using rope (white) running horizontal instead of balusters. Either way it will look good. Looks like you have lost a few pounds. Congrats. Won't be able to call yourself "fat boy" anymore, lol.
OMG, somebody dared tell Andrew to strengthen something!!! Don't they know that he invented overdoing?!!!! I bet Ruger is glad the deck is finished, LOL
Andrew the deck is looking beautiful. You have done a fabulous job. As far as the joints shrinking that is so common that you really can't stop that. You are correct as if it was really cold and you cut tight joints you could have trouble with buckling when it gets really hot. One thing I always did when I was building decks or even houses was to run my 8ft level over the joist as a straight edge and plane the high joist and I would then shim any low ones as all the joist are not always the same width. My guys would complain when I had then do that on roof rafters and ceiling joist but they did it. Makes for a flat finished product. Can't wait to see the finished product. As I have said before, You and Tiffany are living your dream. Take care and go easy on the back, especially when you start cutting all those big logs into firewood that you hauled in. Stay blessed..
Very nice looking! I agree with Crystal and Mr. Jimmy about the nautical rope look....although I don't think that would pass code or satisfy your insurance company. It will look amazing whatever you do🧜🏻♀🧜🏻♂👍🏻👍🏻💜💜
I should have said CLEAN water instead of fresh in the last video. There are little chicken water cups that connect to pick pipe allows the chicken to have clean water. Water that is above the ground and the chickens don't poop in it. Just an idea.
@@CrystalParanormally hey crystal 🔮. All is good as can be. We went from hot to Windy and Andrew sent this a hurricane 😧😧😧😧 now have to keep a 👀 out for fires 🫣🫣
I can buy about 20 of these pools for what a professional installed in ground pool is going for right now. You think I'll outlive more than a few above ground pools. I don't! Take your negative attitude elsewhere.
