This is interesting because we have a Skat Blaster and we are a micro machine parts maker so this little basket is a must make for or shops bead blast cabinet, we do not have the water version you do, ours is dry. Thank you this makes great sense we have something similar for our sonic cleaner station where the parts are also very watch part sized. Lance & Patrick.
Instead of the two nuts locked together under the lower disc you could lock them together with the disc clamped between them. Also, a single nyloc nut (or a pair of ordinary nuts locked together) could be used as an adjustable spacer instead of the fixed length tubular spacer. Perhaps metal jam jar lids with holes drilled in the middle could be used instead of the aluminium discs for a very simple low budget build?
Nice job, and it looks very useful. Now you can use it to make more homemade tools. Feel free to embed your video on our homemade tools forum; looks like you're one of us :-)
Bought a few of these at Walmart awhile ago for use in the blast cabinet and the parts washer. Just hold the gloved hand over the top to keep the parts in. A cap would be better. www.walmart.com/ip/Rolodex-Nestable-Jumbo-Wire-Mesh-Pencil-Cup-4-3-8-dia-x-5-2-5-Black/14916659 Brad...assume that you decided against offering plans for your Vapor Blaster? Just curious, sorry for the pesty question.
No, I'm still working on them. I've been so swamped with vapor blasting work this summer, much more than usual. It is about 95% done. I just need to complete the electrical switch part, and I want to be very careful about how it's layed out in the book.
@@ArnoldsDesign I had that happen with lighter parts. I also use a soup can with the bottom cut out and mosquito netting lashed on over the bottom. The aspect ratio of the soup can seems to keep all the parts contained.
I use a home made rotating tumbler with blasting grit or a home made vibrating cleaner somewhat like this one: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lXknqxaYgPY.html works great! I use al kinds of media, aquarium sand/stones or blasting grit.
