DIY Flexible Silicone Molds for Embeds (Requested)

I did a video on making a dry silicone and here is the flexible one. You can mold items such as food with this kind. Remember, whatever items you use to make this mold, please do not use the items for food anymore. Please don't use these molds to mold items to go on food.
You will need
100% silicone
Dawn dishwashing liquid (Blue one)
water

I could cry because I'm in the early stages of my candle business and as of now I'm just constantly making candles just to buy more products. But with the new ideas I have this will really save alot of money

Thanks for the video! Few questions: 1. Can you put the blueberries top/face down into the silicone mold so that you get all of THAT detail included or do they just get smashed up/ruined if you try to do that way? (It seemed you had the bottoms/round part pushed down into the mold). 2. Does the soap seep out of the mold after it cures & (Read that baby oil in the dry silicone/cornstarch/baby oil method seeps out regularly). 3. What all types of mediums can you use in these molds & once cured are they bake-able (for NON food mediums like clay)? 4. How did you dispose of your "soap/silicone" water? Thank you!

Thanks for watching. For the blueberries, i used really firm ones and did put the top in there to get all the detail. Just make sure you don't press too hard. You can also freeze your berries before you use them to mold them so they will be really firm. I haven't used any of my molds for soaps, so I wouldn't know. I'm sorry. As for your #3 question, if you are molding something like clay and need to bake the clay, then I would bake it, but use your own judgement on that. We have some woods on my land so I just dumped it there.

How durable are the molds? Do they hold up to the bending when you release the items from the mold or will they crack or break over time? Thanks for sharing your video.

Hey, loved the video. I tried it once didn't work. Rewatch the video, of course I used the wrong silicone, the wrong Dawn, I always have to do things twice. 2nd go round was perfect. I have a question. One of the molds did not turn out the way I wanted. Can it be remolded or something? Thanks

That sounds like me. Most of the times I have to try several times. I'm not sure how you could reuse or remold it. Maybe if you just shaped it and didn't like how it turned out, quickly put it back in the dawn water and try it again.

How long do the molds last you once you have made them?? I'm so glad and grateful to have found your videos cause I was going to spend around £400 on silicone molds but now I'll try to make my own. New subscriber xx

Thank you for subbing. On how long it will last really depends on how much you use them. I have some that I made a couple of years ago and they are holding up fine. I don't use them a lot, but they are doing great. Now this version which I call the wet molds, they hold up better to me than the dry molds. I have a video on that, too. I had to really practice on getting this just right, but once you do, it works great. At least for me. Molds can be very expensive, so this really works for me. let me know how yours turns out.
