I like my grays. I also like this color. With anything that is rolled it is best to unroll it then reroll the opposite direction. Let it sit. Then unroll. It will lay flatter Suggestion on the pulls. Make a cardboard template for the placement of the screw holes. Also remember to slightly wax the drawer supports. This will make them slide easier.

The wave would be less if the pole wrap was elevated on the opposite end so that it was more square to the saw blade. You needed to use a flat board on top of the wrap when gluing to provide even pressure when clamping and get it all down at once.

In addition to your comments which I think are excellent, Grab It works very well. It is very thick and quickly glues almost anything down. You can get it at any hardware next to the caulk.

Love this look & how different to the grey. A lesson in how you can customise furniture to suit your space ❤ Just a thought on attaching the pole wrap. If you placed a board/ scrap of wood over the top before clamping you would get even pressure over the whole surface which might help it stick better. Plus use a whole lotta glue

Searched for pole wrap on furniture and found yours. Such good tips and I'm going to purchase that sprayer too. Placing pole wrap on the door and drawer fronts of an old large buffet to modernize it. It's our main piece of furniture in our livingroom and the tv is on the wall above it. I'm excited to find the perfect dark sage green/gray color and pick up some clamps to add to my tool inventory too! Love the handles you chose and getting those too. Thank you for the inspiration..

This project turned out classy and even though I quite liked the grey version you started out with, I do think it has a sort of serene vibe which I'm really gravitating towards lately! I think your pole wrap would lay better if you allowed it to 'flatten' for a few days / a week before doing the DIY and then when you glue, it will bond better if you brush a layer of glue on both elements, place and then add weights and allow to dry. This will help to eliminate the gaps. Then add your nails if you feel it's necessary. Also maybe a router to clean up any wavy edges would give a better crisp edge? 🤔

try waterbase contact cement for attaching facings, secret prime wood with spray shalac your going to glue, so that wood doesn't absorb glue, use wgts to ensure glues meet evenly. alot of prep work makes finished product so much better. Nail setter tool for ensuring bradnails are fully set into wood

Handy tip about rolling the tube tight before cutting. I had the same problem when cutting pull-down blinds to fit some windows. I didn't have anywhere large enough to lay out the blinds so I kept them rolled up. They're not perfect but are pretty good. I undercut them in width so I could tidy it up once they were hung on the windows. I'll have to keep the roll much tighter if I face this problem again.

I've watched your vids years now so I tried to redo my sons dresser and I totally messed it up worse than it was before! I dont think its my calling. 😭 You make it look so easy. I had wasted so much paint, I used the whole 18oz dixie bell and may have to order more for a second coat! It was the first and LAST think I'll be refinishing. The worst part is, it had my brothers name on it that passed in 2011. Idk how you do it but all your work looks amazing!

Just a couple of questions: 1. I noticed you added something to the paint into the sprayer. Was that just water or was it something like Floetrol (to make the paint flow more smoothly and give a better finish)? 2. With the paint sprayer you're using, does that need an air compressor to work? Had you used any 'cheaper' models previously and, if so, how does this compare? And... one little tip from me: If you want the drawers to slide in more easily, rub either beeswax or a candle or some old-fashioned soap along the underside of the drawer runners. You might need to warm up the wax first but not too much. You can also do this to the runners on the body of the cabinet for an even smoother slide. In the past if this doesn't work well enough for my needs, I've completely put new 'proper' metal runners inside the cabinet and then on the individual drawers. That's a bit of a pain though as you have to make room inside the cabinet first and be very precise with the measurements.

My table saw gives smoother cuts that my miter saw. There may be a blade issue. You can also try sanding before unrolling to sand faster.

Sad Grey is out. But you flip looks awesome. Great idea with the pole wrap! Maybe using a brayer or roller over the top would help, or facing the drawers down on the pole wrap while drying might help.

This paint is really durable since it’s meant for trim and doors that get kicked and touched a lot. No need to topcoat.

Just turn the drawer upside and put a book into it to weight unless you want to use clamps and all that stuff., To get a clean cut maybe paint some glue on the area and let it dry😊then cut.

This is an enamel paint so no need to topcoat. It cures to a really durable finish.

Beautifully done piece and great video. :) Can you tell me how the paint felt after it dried/cured fully? Did it have that tacky/sticky feel that a lot of house paints have? If not, this could be game changing. I've always had an issue with the pricing of so many of the furniture refinishing paint lines, but don't want to sacrifice quality. I've used the house before and decor items have always stuck in the shelves or tops of furniture.

Not a fan of the color but I do like the flute look. Consider more glue and then clamping two drawers face to face to get even pressure. Maybe a wax paper layer between to eliminate the potential of gluing them together in any way.

If you don't think that this issue your having with the pull ramp is going to be a one off, buy a table saw. You will pay for it within 20-30 hrs that you saved by not sanding.

I got better as I went. Key is a tight roll and elevate the roll to be even with the saw. But yes, a table saw would give you a more accurate cut with the pole wrap unrolled.

The dust mask you used is not suitable for paint. You can get cartridges for today mask which are suitable for paint
