This week I have a DIY furniture makeover, I gave my cabinet a Cottage style makeover using some Colortrend satin paint. I transformed an old piece of furniture that was going to be thrown away and painted it to suit my style of decor. I do love a fun furniture flip.

As always thank you for sharing with us. I have a piece of furniture belonging to my late mother (may she RIP). I was going to throw it out but after watching this video I am going to paint it and use it for my craft room. I know it will look great and I will have lots of storage space which I need. I was an old wardrobe one that she had in her room. Plus I love your bedroom I can't wait till I move back to Florida and have my own home again. Its 16 degrees Fairnheight and lots of snow. I love how Blondie always gets in the picture too looking sweet asleep on your bed.

A grand job. The pink inside is such a good idea, smashing when you open the doors or drawers. I think your dating is about right on that style. I agree, it's better to save a piece of furniture than it going to the tip. Less stuff tipped or chopped up the better... 🤗

Beautiful job! But you are very brave. I'd have the piece on a drop cloth, away from the walls, and certainly nowhere near a beautiful pink fluffy rug! Your home is so beautifully decorated and so very pretty.

That is so beautiful what you do to the furniture the dollhouse and I'm surprised you don't get everything paint all over everywhere but your style is so cute and it fits you but the dollhouse was cute and that old piece of furniture doesn't even look like it was old anymore it's beautiful and your color palette is very pretty I like that color palette me I like the shabby chic but that is so cute for you

Hello Catherine and Blondie. I love what u did with this. I was thinking how pretty if u added that sticky back decal/wallpaper to the little rise on the top and on the inside. Maybe a pretty rose pattern!! You do wonderful work! 😁

It is so beautiful now!! You have given me confidence to try this! My daughter has a new bed & dresser, but her nightstands are older & even tho they are all shades of white, they don’t go well together. I will show her this & then let her pick a color. ( I think she will pick soft pink 😉)

I agree. In my last home, most of the furniture was thrifted., and of much better quality than you find today. I LOVE that you painted this, but you could have left it the way it was too. Hard to believe someone wanted to get rid of this ! Love it ! 🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺 tfs

It looks like a Rossmore unit. About 30 years ago they were the must have in a home, but were very expensive. My husbands Mum and Dad bought us a TV corner unit, when we got married 28 years ago. I gave it to my mother some years ago, because I no longer liked the dark wood but now we are doing up our sitting room and I think I might paint it to blend in with the new sofa. Thanks for the idea.

Thanks for watching Sheila, Yea a genuine Rossmore is really expensive since they stopped making them. I couldn't find a brand on this one. You could get some tester pots and try some colours to see what matches your new sofa x

DD: Just an FYI-you said the major color you painted on the outside of your chest was sage green...it's translates on video as grey. LOVE the pale pink interior of the chest-TFS! :D

I usually do not buy new furniture very often unless it’s appliances, couch and chair, or mattresses, those I always buy new. I just love garage sales and old second hand stores, or someone giving me their unwanted pieces. The best way to obtain really beautiful older pieces.

Never thought about painting the inside. I'm in the process of painting a 5 chest drawers. Over the weekend someone had thrown a small side bedside cabinet so I grabbed that. For afterwards. I'm still trying to find your style bed. I'm obsessed. Did you rub inside the draws too

Hi I love what you did to this piece is the top of the cabinet a different color than the bottom part and can you tell me the colors that you've used is that grey and pink what are the names love the blends

I’ve just come across your channel and this video has already got me hooked 😊 That piece looks absolutely beautiful. I love the contrast of the colours. I repainted my Nans cabinet last year as I didn’t want to throw it out but didn’t like the dark mahogany with my decor so I’ve painted it in a white chalk paint and it now looks beautiful 😃 Always enjoy an up cycling project 💜 xx

Brilliant! ❤️❤️ I love that you fully prep your furniture (“failure to prepare is to prepare to fail”) and take your time during the painting to give a fabulous finish. That looks so pretty. I was wondering when you would get around to that piece of furniture. Lol. I have a handful of pieces to get painted. Waiting till warmer weather when I can put them all in the garage and get them all done. It is 6 degrees below zero here today, and our basement garage is not a place I want to spend that much time in at the moment. I am right outside Pittsburgh, Pa. Always enjoy your videos.

So cute! Glad that I found your channel! I have another favorite channel here in the states, who revamps furniture as well, JamiRayVIntage that you might like as well! I am so impressed with all your decorating and also owning your own home! Good for you! You certainly have the talent, I really do think that you could make money doing this. My friends who had as many followers as you did made enough extra, that you could buy more paints and supplies, etc. if you wanted to. But you are doing great. Thanks for sharing.
