Home office room tour 

When I learned to sew in high school we started with an apron, then our second project was an a line skirt. I made all my clothes for school trying to copy outfits out of Vogue magazine. In my 20's I lived off the grid and used a treadle. I still have it in case our electricity goes out. LOL Then when I got older I spent years making quilts and I taught quilting to kids in 6th - 8th grade (11 years old - 14). Now that I am retired I am doing a project of making doll clothes for a Christmas Toys for Tots donation. I have loved sewing all my years and it has served me well. I just purchased a serger sewing machine and I am loving it. Your house is lovely.

I love your honesty in this video. Not everyone’s work space is completely tidy you’re right. I watch some RU-vid beauty influencers show off their “glam rooms” and everything is so perfect - you know it’s not how it is daily! There’s no way. I wish people were a little more honest - there would be a lot less competition to keep up. Thanks for doing this video. By the way - you’re the same age as my daughter and I think you are just so adorable! ❤️❤️

Hello Catherine, it's really nice to see your entire office. As it is not the same in a static picture (I thought it was next to the bedroom, not to the sitting room). So, for sewing, I did my own prom dress 20 something years ago. Princess seams and all. It's much easier than putting together some of that IKEA furniture 😉

I could hardly sew when I had my girls and I wanted to make Halloween costumes so I got a pattern to make a dress and was so surprised how easy it was to do. Just get yourself a easy pattern and go for it you will shock yourself how well you can do it. RU-vid is always a click away for help reading a pattern or learning how to make sleeves. Can't wait to see what you make. I can just see all the vintage inspired creations you will come up with.

the belt on your singer is made from leather and over time it stretches. you can shorten it slightly ,punch a new hole in it and hook it back together. only take a small amount off at a time until it feels right,

My late maternal grandmother had one of those sewing machines. I've tried it and liked it but I love the modern ones much better. Dress making isn't hard. Good luck!

The project I am currently working on at the moment is my brother's bathroom. I am going to wallpaper the walls just to cover them up lots of dings. I found a simple white paper with a small geometric design on it and it looks good I will share when it is all complete. All the bathroom vanity, toilet, and bathtub are white I will add color with the accessories, I will be adding lots of blue and grays.

I would so LOVE to do my house like yours but my husband would hate it. He doesn't care to see that much feminine. A touch here and there is his limit. So When I see yours, I just fall in love because when your husband doesn't share the same likes, you have to compromise.
