What is up my dudes!? First and foremost please understand that this is an industrial grade spray on graphene ceramic coating that you must be licensed to install. This is not an over the counter product. Spray on coating have gained a bad reputation, rightfully so. If not installed and maintained properly they are not effective. In my professional opinion, when it comes to Gel coat/fiberglass surfaces, especially front caps on RV’s, no ceramic coating is going to prevent it from fading if it is not maintained annually. With that being said, Join me in this video as i walk you through the easiest process for ceramic coating an RV. This method works for any RV- Gel coat or Paint. Please note-Doesnt work on oxidized surfaces. If youre a consumer and someone is trying to sell you a ceramic coating on an oxidized RV, tell them to kick rocks cause it wont work.

Just had mine done in January. And it’s been thru 5 storms. Have not touched it since. Looks incredible. 32’ jayco was $1,600 dollars but well worth it

Thanks for the tips. I have a partial paint and fiberglass with gelcoat. Would you use ceramic on the painted fiberglass and chassis? Also what about water heater and other covers? Will this type of product cause an issue if overspray? Thanks!

You can literally put it on everything! Plastics, trims, covers, gel coat, paint, rims, chrome, you name it! Doesn’t protect metal or rubber though. It doesn’t protect glass but it does make it hydrophobic so it will repel water. It will work like rain x if you put it on your windshield.

So let me run this by you. I have a slightly oxidized 2016 (a)Winnebago. The first thing I was going to do was to wash it. The second thing was to electric buffet with Meguiars step one. The third thing was to Electric buffet with a wax. And the fourth thing was to ceramic coat it like in your video. Is this the right way of doing things?

Hey Mike, thanks for the question. In my professional opinion, oxidized fiberglass cannot be ceramic coated. Ive polished them out 100x before in attempt to then coat them but it never works. Additionally, in regard to the steps you laid out… adding the ceramic on top of the wax may potentially increase the amount of time the wax protects for but that’s about all. When installing ceramic coatings you want the surface to be 100% contaminant free to ensure the coating gets a true bond to the surface and seals off the pores of the surface. Waxes, oils etc prevent that bond from properly binding. so in your scenario your best bet would be to polish it out 110% then wash the surface with a stripping soap to strip the surface of any remaining oils waxes then coat it. With that being said, the coating most likely won’t look that great and won’t last as long it should. You’re truly best off polishing and waxing it religiously every 4-6 months. Sorry for the bad news!

If you are super set on ceramic coating it here is what I would do… • after washing it then cut the entire surface with a wool pad on high speed with a rotary buffer with compound. •then I’d switch to a 15mm DA buffer with a yellow cutting pad on med to high speed and buff it with a 2,000 grit polish •then I’d switch to a 22mm DA buffer with a white finish pad on medium speed and finish the polish out with a 3,000 grit polish. •re wash the whole RV to strip oils •ceramic coat it

I have a sunseeker and i was going to apply the turtle flex graphene spray which claims about 1 year of protection. The product you use in the video applies the same with a much longer protection. Can i trouble you for the mame and can i purchase this product for personal use if i am not a detailer?
@_allthingsdude
@_allthingsdude Год назад
Hello, unfortunately This particular product isn’t available to the general public. Also please note that although this product claims to last 5-7 years, from our experience with fiberglass it isn’t safe to only apply this once and trust that it will last the full 5-7 years. So it is important to reapply annually to play it safe. If you go with that turtle flex product then just be sure to apply once a year to keep your coach from fading. Wouldn’t hurt to play it safe and do it every 9 months. Thanks for watching!

Absolutely my dude! Glad I could help! The front cap is always the first to go. I even go as far as reapplying the product to the cap after a quarterly wash. Especially if you have to use bug remover or a similar aggressive soap on the front cap after a road trip. Aggressive soaps and detergents can break these coating down.

What type of DA pad were you using?
@_allthingsdude
@_allthingsdude 8 месяцев назад
A rupes da fine. But any polishing pad will do because we’re not removing oxidation, just enhancing the surface.
@SlowDiscoFourOneNine
@SlowDiscoFourOneNine 3 месяца назад
what are you using for any black streaking?
@_allthingsdude
@_allthingsdude 3 месяца назад
The black streaking will easily come out with a yellow foam pad on a buffer and some polish/compound or wax with polish like 3D speed. If you don’t have a buffer and just want to remove the streaks while washing it, use bug remover with a soft bristle brush to get streaks out (bug remover diluted, use in the shade, cool wet surface, don’t let it dry on surface, soap the surface and rinse when done to neutralize the bug remover enzymes)

@@_allthingsdude sweet thanks. How long did it take start to finish for a job like this. I tried to go by the shadow of the sun but couldn't figure it out lol
@_allthingsdude
@_allthingsdude 3 месяца назад
@@SlowDiscoFourOneNine typically in the 10 hour range. After getting it washed, start polishing on the shade side. Then work your way to the cap or the rear (whichever is in the shade still) by that time, the other two sides should be shaded. Use the awning when possible too. By then you can determine where the sun is at that time and game plan how to get the coating on in the shade.

How did you charge for that ceramic application

I charge by the linear ft. So many things to take into consideration though. If the RV needs any correction (which is likely the case), how picky the customer is, if they plan to use you for maintaining the RV in the future etc…

Probably a dumb question but are you using deionized water the whole time? I’m going to attempt to copy your process :)
@_allthingsdude
@_allthingsdude 7 месяцев назад
Yes sir. Super important when working in the sun. Although you are going to buff it, you still don’t want to have to fight water spots. They’ll buff off the fiberglass quite easily if they’re fresh (same day water spots) but the glass is where you’ll have problems. Also, water will run out of lights, creases, storage doors etc and harden on the surface if it isn’t deionozed. So you could think everything is good to go then come out the next morning and have hard water streaks from water that came out after the fact. Long winded answer but yes deionozed water is crucial.

spray ceramic DO NOT LAST FOR 5-7 years
@_allthingsdude
@_allthingsdude Год назад
I’m very well aware that spray ceramic coatings have earned a bad reputation in the industry and I was reluctant to create this video for that very reason. But this coating used to be rated at 5 years by the manufacturer and they just recently upped it to 7 years on new vehicles. But with that being said, I always advise my clients who select this coating that they must maintain it once annually (at a fraction of the initial cost) in order to ensure 100% continued protection. In my opinion this suggestion should be upheld throughout the entire detailing community so ceramic coatings don’t continue to get a bad rap. People don’t maintain their coatings and go through drive thru car washes degrading the product then blame the coating.
