A friend's Kia Cee'd was fresh out of warranty and we decided to do some preventative maintenance operations on it, starting with changing the manual gearbox oil. At 7 years and 84,000 km the old oil was still in decent condition, but the low parts cost and ease of changing justified its replacement ahead of time. The manual recommends changing the oil every 120,000 km for severe driving conditions.
The parts used are as follows:
- 2 liters of mono-grade 70W GL-4 gearbox oil (we used Ravenol MTF-4)
- 2 washers for the drain and fill bolts (OE code 1751116000)
