Not much info seems to be available. Will have to consider yours, given the reading material you guys were able to access. I once flushed a Toyota transmission and will do so again. The Honda Fit CVT is another matter though. Will not take the risk unless I find credible recommendation to do so.
@MarkDHall
@MarkDHall Год назад
@@super8tube1 I'm not sure if I mentioned it in the video, but our transmission is not a CVT. It's an old fashioned 5 speed automatic. When I was younger and had just gotten married, I took my wife's car into a dealer to have the transmission flushed because it had never been serviced. It was higher mileage, and about 2 weeks after they flushed the engine, the transmission died. It was going to be $3000 25+ years ago, so we just sold the car. We spoke to a different mechanic afterward, and he said we shouldn't have had it serviced, especially flushed because it was so old any worn metal inside was "holding it together" and keeping it working. I'm not familiar with CVTs, but I know they are different. Again, I'd talk to people and try to read up, though I know there's not much info, and see how to proceed. You don't want to fool around, and you want it to run for years.

2:06 is wasn't over filled, pan capacity and transmission capacity are two different things. the torque converter can have a ton of fluid in it
@MarkDHall
@MarkDHall 6 месяцев назад
2.6 quarts is the drain and fill amount that Honda says should be in the pan when doing a fluid change. Fluid typically doesn't drain out of the converter when the engine is off, but if it does, Honda has factored that into the 2.6 quart capacity. The dry amount is totally different and includes additional fluid that's needed to fill a new transmission and converter when completely empty.
