In this video I walk you through the process of how I made my Oogie Boogie Voodoo Mask.
With free styrofoam square board, I glue together pieces to create 1 large board.
After it dried, I cut out the shape of the mask with my sharpe tooth hand saw. I then applied a thin layer of joint compound and strips of newspaper. The next day I created the mouth using the same technique. While waiting for that to dry, I collected some sticks and glue them to create eye brows. After everything dried, I painted it a dark charcoal gray with flat exterior paint. To add highlights I lightened up the paint with white and dry brushed all the raised surfaces. I then painted the inside of the mouth white. When the top dried I took scissors and carved out holes in the top of the mask. I pushed the battery operated candles into the holes then glued them. Finally with yellow UV paint I created the swirling eyes with black highlights and red UV paint for the mouth. I put a zip tie in the back around the PVC pipe to hang it.
Enjoy.
