Hi everyone,
Welcome or welcome back to my channel. My name is Jess and I love doing DIY, making clothes in a "simply but pretty" way.
In today's video, I'm going to share with you how I made my high waisted straight leg pants from scratch. The high waisted, straight leg will make you look taller. The elastic waistband will help you feel comfortable. And it's still very fashionable. It's also easy to make with by following my detail step by step tutorial. So I hope you will like it and try it out.
To make this DIY, please check out my basic information below:
- Sewing machine: Merrit Joyful Sewing
- Material: 2.5m of cotton fabric
- My body measurements: 82-64-92cm. I'm 165cm tall and usually wear Small size.

I really thing it is not quite good just for beginners. It is for practical people. In this case I would ad 4 external pockets and have my cargo pants. I did a few for myself since I am to tall and I can't find pants easily for me. ru-vid.comC7OnNE3mesQ

It takes less than a half hour after the pattern is ready. In this case I would ad 4 external pockets and have my cargo pants. Beautiful video Jess the pants look amazing. Quick question, how do you come up with the calculations, like the part about hip size/10? Is the specific to your size or for every size ?

It's basically is the tailor sewing techniques that I learn myself through others around me. For some parts like hip size/10, yes it's apply for all size. It's based on the ratio of the body size to come to that calculation.

hi Jess - thanks for this fabulous video! i am a little confused by the instructions at 3:09. the text on the video says that 10cm = 1/4 the width of the leg minus 1cm but then you say that it's *half* of the width of pants that you want, minus 1cm. is that because the total width of the pants you want is 44cm? so there is 10cm on either side of that middle point (1/4width - 1cm) for a total of 20cm? i'm confused! i also would love tips on measuring the width of the pants you want. thank you!
