Thanks for putting this out there. I don't have the tools, patience or time to build this. I'd be that sucker that paid the $400 for the ramp from Keen. Awesome seeing the homie alive and well.
I just recently started exploring the idea of building my own stuff, instead of aim for one project I'm messing around building smaller stuff like kickers and launch style ramps for my young sons rc's, soon I hope I can graduate to a nice backyard mini. Videos like this are invaluable on my journey just getting an idea of all the different strategies people put in place for their own builds. Thanks homie.
The PVC holds up better than you'd think. We use it in Electrical. We've sessioned some of the larger stuff. Its pretty buttery. It won't create grooves in your trucks, but its fun.
@stickersteve007 yeah mine too even till now he's still the best in my heart haha also there's a documentary type shiz with the dern brothers that just came out so nostalgic should definitely check it out and yeah it's really crazy a lot of people dont know him
I would put a second layer of birch or whatever. I think keen would have a layer of wood with skatelite over top, but just paint a second layer and you should be fine.
i think you could build a mold and make it from concrete, make the coping with the beer can method (also concrete) cheaper and it will be better. it wont be portable unless you can engineer some wheel contraption. good job though, i like the new garage
Man that sounds like a lot of work lol. I definitely need the obstacles to he portable. I've also been debating on trying to pour a curb or 2 for the driveway
@@stickersteve007 i was thinking about doing the same thing. i want to make a shallow bowl corner in my yard with a curved curb at the top. something about 10x10ft max maybe 2 ft deep. i havent checked to see if there are any pipes etc.. in the area i have yet.
you could be right about the baltic birch. That would actually make more sense. One 1/4" layer still seems a little thin. The skatelite would probably work fine though. That stuff is expensive though!
Hey Steve, Is the Girl OG shape mellow kicks and concave? Have you tried the twin? Looking for a new board. I like mellow. Really wanting a twin shape.
@mikethomson6546 I'm skating the twin right now. I've had about 4 of em. My favorite shape of all time. It's on the mellower side which I like. Best board ever 👌
@3ct084 lol I wanted to make it just like they do as an experiment. Personally, I'd never go this thin. I'm gonna be resurfacing it with thicker materials. Although the 2 layers of birch seem to be holding up ok 👍
