Hey I feel ya! Being self employed we don’t get PTO or have people to pick up the slack if we are hurting so I say what you did today is super productive because if that back acts up nothing will be productive. That’s one of my biggest fears is not being able to work when everything with your business ends at you. My grandfather always recited the “work smarter not harder”. Now that I am getting older I completely get why he always did. Keep up the great work and thanks for being an inspiration.

Anything you can do to save you some pain is not stupid for sure, this coming from a man who has been plagued with back problems for close to 50 years because of an accident that was no ones fault. Let me tell you it never gets any better either... Keep up the good work Andrew, I love the content, keep it coming... Stay safe brother!!!👍👍👍

You never cease to amaze me!!! I don't watch many channels so this isn't something I would have seen. My son walked in while watching this and asked why I was watching you cut up a tree and I told him I watch pretty much all your videos. I completely understand about back problems since i have them most my life. Anything to help your cause. ❤

I thing you should build another building that way you could all your bends in with the cut logs plus you should build a log cuter that's long enough to put a long log on it and build it so when you put the log on it you measure the log you have space cut out so you measure your log and when you go to cut your blade goes right though the log and you can cut the hole log it's just a idea you all have a great day

That's great... There is a guy in Canada, he built a platform to hold multiple logs, it has a small incline for the logs to roll down but there are braces so it doesn't roll on you. You could make it towable on skids... His can accommodate 12 footers plus. There is a lot of bracing about every 18 inches to get the chainsaw to cut the logs for firewood or trim to make boards for building. He is the same guy that bought a LaneShark from Tallahassee, I referenced previously in a prior vlog tree trimming

Splitter action coming soon! I've found its hard to pick specific logs out of the pile with forks. Easy pickings with the grapple.

I only have one smaller tractor that cost $16,500 new. Mike's mini is in the 75,000+90,000 range, maybe more. I can't justify that kind of money for firewood. I'd love to have one though.

how about putting a tote frame under each side then just move the center 2 into the totes on either side or extra long pallets with a stop on the back and a short one on the front???? also by the time you cut a big log like those you need a break in the tractor with a drink!!!! if you put a grapple on the electric tractor -- no diesel idling! i have several wooden bridge stringers 10 x14 or so that would work for someting like that have some rotten spots But so what! Cool build Have Fun

With all the equipment and systems that you have, how in the world do you keep up with maintenance and oil changes on all the mowers, trimmers, tractors ect? Or do you source it out to repair shops?
@TKCL
@TKCL 7 месяцев назад
I've done everything myself service wise since I was a kid. You do these things when you don't have much money and need to save. The only time I carry anything to a shop is warranty work or something a computer needs to read. I keep a simple notepad in my phone with all equipment and service intervals. I don't find it complicated at all.

I like what you have made but there are 2 things that could be a problem first how the log drop on the floor what stop it from hitting your feet and secondly does the log move when you cut. But it looks faster as your not turning the log to cut the bottom. Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing your next project
@TKCL
@TKCL 7 месяцев назад
You have that risk anytime you cut elevated, you evaluate the risk and pay attention. With that said, there's risks to cutting on the ground. You accept some risks anytime you work with equipment or mass. Otherwise you avoid it altogether. That's not really an option when you chose a homesteading lifestyle.
