Love your videos Rudy. You remind me of one of those cool shop teachers back in high school sporting the leather converse and jeans who never got upset when we broke the stuff trying to learn.

Thanks for all of your tips! Could you possibly do a complete GM scissor top and window replacement? There's not one out there and you would be the star of all time!

Well, I would need the customer first. And besides, I recently decided I will no longer be doing convertible tops. Too physical for me now. I have done under a hundred scissor tops during my career, mainly in the '80s and '90s. The main difference is that the whole frame assembly gets removed from the car.

Thanks, I am doing mine and had no good pattern because the old top was ripped-off torn-up and trash. I bought a top and rear window and have been rebuilding and adjusting the frame. only the rear part of the frame gets removed, right? Anyway, I'm trying to work out a way to fit the top with no pattern. It may just be kind of trial and error, I guess. Not many still want to work on these scissor tops!

@@Jeff_Pendleton I would start with the rear bow height measurement
@Jeff_Pendleton
@Jeff_Pendleton Год назад
I checked the bow height. It's a little high 26-3/4 vs 26" spec. Not sure what to do about it. There's no adjustment.

@@Jeff_Pendleton You're so close! I think the limit would be +- 1/2" is acceptable.

I enjoy your videos and I’m learning a lot. What do you use to clean your gun you use to spray your glue? Thanks again for sharing your knowledge.

On that sort of material, what thread and stitch size would you use? Thanks for all your videos, they have helped me a ton!

Hello Big, You are so welcome! Usually a standard industrial machine thread size T92 never let's me down. For smaller items, I go stitch size 5 on my machine setting. Standard size for me is a 7. Large like canvas or awnings, I go 9. Please keep liking and watching!

@@oldschoolautoupholstery And on your machine, what does the stitch number equate to? I have a Consew 226, and the numbers are stitches per centimeter I believe.

@@bigfranksworld Hello Big, I never thought about that. I just set to what looks good for the job. On my machine I think #7 is 1/4" Please keep liking and watching!
