Gillian and I take Lee Hawk out for a birthday sail to celebrate us both (the boat and I) turning 50 together. I install a Noco Gen5x3 as my new shore powered battery charger. I build and install a new slatted cockpit deck floor, and I also design and build new wood doors for the sailboat companionway entrance! Thanks for stopping by and watching!

Happy Belated Birthday, Matt! I too agree that the OE logo is the best one out there (to use your words, "it's not shabby or wonky"). I purchased an OE sweatshirt and it arrived this week. The quality is great and the embroidered logo is sharp. I'll send a photo when I'm up on my 51 year old C&C 30 mk1.

Let your wife know to carry a fender when you are docking. That way, she can hold the line to the fender wherever you hit or potentially hit. It's really just a spare fender you keep mobile.

I like your effort on the doors. I’m thinking of doing something similar. The locking/latching is difficult as someone can lock you in from the outside. Im trying to think up a solution for that. With the boards, you just flip them and the latch is on the inside. Anyway, great effort!

Yeah, the locking mechanism on these doors I'd rate as 'privacy focused' rather than 'security focused'. Sure, one could lock us in, but a shoulder to the doors from the inside out would pop them right open I would imagine. Please share what you come up with!

1970+50=2020. Did this episode take place 4 years ago? Irregardless I enjoy your videos and love the boat. I had 2 different Columbia 26 from the Sixties. Great and very simple to sail, like Choy Lee
