You're getting a lot of basic, important things done to reach your goal and best thing is, doing most of the work on your own. As you pointed out already, it's going to be a long process but, the satisfaction you'll have will be priceless !
Be sparing with the winch grease, add just enough to protect the bearings and shaft. Too much and it will hold onto salt deposits and you are back to square one. As for the Genoa, plenty of used available, you have a jib run with it until one comes up.
@7:20 - Wonder what the inside of that heat exchanger & pipping looks like. Checked the raw water inlet strainer? Replaced the impellor? 12:15 - Deks Olje @15:00 - Place a towel or similar around the base of the winch, that way if you drop something it won't go far, like over the side. Don't need that much grease on the rollers, but it does need to be worked/massaged into the holes where the pins spin. Good to see you knew about oil, many don't.
Hi Guys Just a bit of a heads up, I buy another fan belt just in case one breaks when you’re out to sea or maybe you have one on board? Cliff from Logan City, Queensland, Australia
