UPDATE!!! Hey guys hope you're enjoying the video! I wanted to clarify in the video, I misspoke about the amount of daylight or lack of in Nordic countries -- summers are full of light and winter is the other way around (this also might be different in each country). Sorry guys I'm learning all the time too :/ Regardless for the window treatments as inspiration for home decor especially in America where we have somewhat consistent daylight hours it's still the same - minimal to no window treatments. Of course, window treatments are great for many reasons (privacy, protecting furniture from sun damage, and of course blocking light) so these style guides are meant to just serve as an inspiration and a starting point not the rule. Love you guys! 😘

Haha...not gonna lie, as a Swedish person I came to the comments and expected to see many Scandinavians writing this. You did great though. I enjoyed the video and I made those candle holders in school so definitely a Swedish touch :P

Haha yes the summer is super bright, up north the sun never sets 😉 and mister of the Scandinavian countries has the same type of climate with slightly warmer in the south and pretty much cooler in the north! You should come visit, the flea markets are a complete different thing, on my latest round I had a basket and a vase for free and chairs for about $1 each 😁

I’m not in Scandinavia, but in Germany we get so much light in Summer, too. I would say window coverings are more a seasonal in Northern Europe, but having some way to block sun at night is a must in bedrooms. Of course, many people here have outdoor rolling shudders, so the inside can remain simple. The shudders also help buildings with no air conditioning regulate their temperature. Super energy efficient. As a Texan I wonder, why doesn’t America do this??? Anyway, great job! I really enjoy your understanding of color. I just screenshot your color pallet because it’s almost exactly my apartment! Now, I can refine it a bit. Thank you. 😊

Actually in Scandinavia in the summer we barley have hours of darkness so we need window treatments that can block out the light so that we can sleep. In the winter it’s the other way around with few hours of sunlight. /a swede

You barley have hours of darkness is the summer, but in the winter, the sun is down all the thyme! :P Haha. I visited Sweden and Finland in the summer, it's really weird to come out of a bar drunk at 4 am and the sun is out like it's the middle of the day! xD Window treatments were very much needed indeed! (The alcohol also helped. :P )

Actually, in the summer in the nordic countries, it gets dark around 11pm and then the sun comes up at like 4am. In Northern Norway you can experience about 70+ days of midnight sun between May and July. So we actually need curtains that can block out the sun 💕

Some solid diys. Little life hack: I LOVE those sanding sponges so much but they do tend to lose their grit rather quickly. You can wrap an ordinary piece of sandpaper around it and still get the forgiveness and control of the sponge, but it's cheaper and more convenient! Also I'd love to see your take on a Scandinavian/Bohemian crossover- I love the simplicity and intention of the Scandinavian style but I love the whimsy and color of Bohemian, and I am having difficulty combining the two!

MaCenna I never get tired of watching your creativity! Wish I had someone who lived near me that I could share time with that loves to do these creative things you do! I've done a few things like macrame, knitting and crocheting, also some crewel needlework and cross-stitch! In painting I've only done stencils. Have never tried to do any woodworking or art work on canvas, but would love to try with someone who knows how!😀💌💗🌌🎨🖌️👏
