Only reason why I cut this tree was that it was leaning over our house and it looked like it had stopped pulling water to the top (leaves missing). So I didn't want to have it fallen over our house one day. Out of this tree I got some some nice slabs I'm thinking of making a table out of, this shelf, thinking of carving something out of the big stump, some boards I intend to use for a woodshed wall, some firewood, branches used to fill dirt for gardening(vegetables) and ashes from firewood I spread in the garden too.
We really admire the woodpiece (shelf) every time we pass it by, such a gift.

Nice video, nice work and landscape! I love birch wood, I have never worked with it. But I believe in the future I will.

Yeah birch is super and especially for food related builds as it has antiseptic qualities. Not too hard wood and not too soft + beautiful lines and plays in the wood. I did a better job on the wood on a live edge mirror video...if you wanna see --> ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pwt2SPWYAAU.html Thanks for the feedback!

Yes, my friend. Big cracks use more sawdust(cookie dough), small cracks less (almost liquid)... Godspeed :)
