My tenant on my property is a construction framer. (I recommend this, btw.) This is exactly what I needed to show him what I want next to my garage for my attachments. Thanks, Brock!

I love your storage solutions. I wish i had the room to build a building to store my equipment in. I have a great neighbor let's me store my stuff in their garage. In return i dig out stumps and help whenever i can. Moving logs diging a ditch. Plus i get to play with my tractor more.

You keep doing what you do and don’t listen to those who TRY to run you down as everyone has their own ideas and different levels of skills There is NEVER just one way to do anything Just the way that SUITS YOU Keep on doing your thing your way

Absolutely utilize the space! RU-vid engineers are a blessing and a curse, thank you for sharing, really awesome setup!

Very efficient use of space. Looks great. 4x4s, 2x6s & 3/4” ply - plenty strong as you’ve discovered. Custom pallets pay off in the long run. While you’re customizing, consider a heavy duty french cleat wall for your yard tools, chainsaws, etc. Gives you flexibility as tools come & go (well, realistically, as you add tools). Minor comment: consider using carriage bolts, washers & nuts instead of lag bolts for a more secure hold.

Very cool idea. I hate leaving my attachments outside.

Looks fine to me. Just with anything, a keen eye is good to make sure it remains in good shape. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Brock. Next year, I am planning to build a storage shed for my tractor and attachments. My idea was to build shelves as you have. This video had several very helpful ideas. Thank you.

Good morning Brock. I just built a lean-to off of the back of my woodshed. It's not as big as yours but it will be big enough for the attachments that I have. In the future I plan to build shelves in mine also. I have one on the back of my garage also but only have access from one end so it was a pain trying to get attachments in and out of it. Now with the attachments out of there I'll use it for my tractor and get it out of the garage. Thank you for the great ideas. God bless and have a wonderful day. 👍👍🙂

Brock, thanks for the overview. I believe I will need to build one of these after I get the new tiny tractor

Thank you for the recap. This is on my list for next season. Here in Northern Minnesota, Snow is an issue. Last winter, I actually hit one of my attachments with the plow because it was buried in snow.

I still haven't finished the floor in the back half of my shop, so I still have my attachments scattered everywhere LOL. I've slowly started picking up materials for the floor, so hoping by spring I'll have everything I need to get it done, get my tools set where I want them, and then build shelving similar to what you've done to store my attachments inside...right now they are somewhat covered from the weather under some trees, but I want them inside LOL. The next big task is I need to redo the opening on the end of the shop where I keep the tractor. Its been reframed into a smaller doorway, with the tractor and attachments I'll be reframing the doorway back to its original wider opening, and with that, I plan on building sliding barn doors. Most of the attachments I have are relatively small, heaviest being the roto-tiller, that can get stored under the shelving on the floor on its custom pallet I made for it, and since it'll have dirt on it a lot putting it on the floor makes more sense anyhow....then all the lighter stuff can go up from there and least used stuff on top out of the way. Then, once that shelving is built and everything stored, I'll have to buy more attachments to fill in the empty spaces on the shelves...I mean we all know that will happen HAHA!!! A land plane, and a wood chipper are on my list, as well as a rotary cutter or flail mower...leaning more towards a flail mower as I don't mow anything heavy enough to really need the rotary cutter.

Not everything has to be high tech. I think your shelves are a great idea of it works for you. I'm the same way about stuff. If it serves the same function but doesn't cost as much, I'm going that route as well. Not cheap, just frugle. Next step for me is a storage. I hate leaving my stuff outdoors!

One idea would be to string a tennis ball from the roof where you place your fork attachment on the rack. Like one would in a garage to park a car …

I absolutely love your shelves, Brock! I'm currently cutting lumber on my mill to build a machinery shed, and won't stop until I have enough to build shelves like yours. 😁 I will also move my transfer tank inside, once its under roof.

I thought that was an excellent idea when you did it I even turned around and built the same set just at a smaller scale cause I didn't have the space or height that you do. I think you should build out the left side also if you still have stuff/attachments you need to get off the ground and organized

I'm just / still waiting for u to put your forks through the siding 🤪I would have already without a couple of siding protection boards. Lol I'm sure I am one of your peeps who said that years ago lol great job. I want u to Design and plan a sawmill building . The bearded carpenter had an amazing one. Sawing with sandy has one and countless others do also I believe that I would make it so the one end u can pull ur mill in and out if u r going to go to events with yours or bring up to Newfane New York. 😝🤪 , just thinking out loud on your page . Or u can say shut the hell up Todd . I'm going to build another kwanzaa hut! 🤪lol

There'a a 40x60 manure barn (pole barn, basically) on the property when we bought it, and it's got several places where forks have poked through. I don't think Brock will for sure ever poke the forks through the back wall, but if I was me, I'd put a 2"x8" or strip of 1/4" thick 4" high steel back there just to protect me from myself.
@toddcaskey9984
@toddcaskey9984 9 месяцев назад
@@JCWren I switch my forks and my bucket numerous times a day, so I wouldn't even put them in the shed but if I did, I would poke through the barn

You could add small 2×6 blocks below the lag bolts to help carry the load. Great job all around. Only works with a quck hitch type three pt system, shich is a great upgrade to consider. Are termites a problem in Kansas? Notice you sid not use ground contact wood members?

Hey buddy! I know you installed the Curtis Cab Fude Block Mod. I am doing the same thing...have a question for you... (Electrical is not my thing.) I am installing 2 work lights and a dome light. There is a Ground screw on the back of the unit. I will ground this to the chassis. However, the instructions say you should bring the ground wire from EACH item, back to the ground screw on the fuse block...? Cant I just ground each item, individually, to the chassis, rather than bring it all the way back to the fuse block? Thank you!

I wish I could be more help, but I don’t know the answer to your question. I mostly avoid electrical wiring and had somebody else do it for me. it’s been almost 3 years ago so I don’t remember Curtis Advantage Cab Full Install Video Including Wiring - John Deere 2038R ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Fx3pnidgTRw.html

I dont think that you can have too many shelves. Especially when you are adding attachments for your business. For now, the best we can do is put most of ours on pallets and tarp them.
