Create your own little home decor pieces.

You can try this with any wall paint, or any waterbased paint at all, this time I used pure brilliant white quick dry eggshell for interior wood and metal. But I often use a basic emulsion paint.

Thank You So Much for this video! We are middle aged & FINALLY able to buy our own land & build a farmhouse. I want to decorate but everything is SO EXPENSIVE! Thank you, I'm thinking of remaking on a larger scale like my 'happiness is homemade' sign. This was one of my first videos so would do things a bit differently now, love and learn, sure you're finding that, just finalising a DIY of some vases I filmed months ago, so watch out for that one too : )

Hello. Thanks for sharing your technique. So you just printed it out on regular paper and then took at pencil (I have a tombow hi precision drafting pencil, would that work?) and shaded the letters as you could see them through the paper onto the back of the paper? Then traced the letters so that the shaded pencil marks transferred to the wood?

Hi, thanks, it would work but you’d be better finding a basic pencil or a graphite stick for rubbing all over the back then precision pencil for tracing over yes, enjoy your projects

An easier more accurate word paint would be to use the same tracing paper, cut out the wording and apply paint so it clean and copied over the trace paper

Thanks yes I have done this also but I personally prefer that technique for chunkier designs. Many ways of doing it, like the stencil method in my coffee sign video

Thank you, I can’t quite remember and I always change them a bit too before I use them, search for Isabella script font and heart and soul font and I’m sure you’ll find something to download, hope this helps, enjoy your project 😊

Hi, I did yes, the softer the pencil the easier it will transfer, but regular is just fine, it works well on the white. Are you going to give it a go? ☺️

I'm not sure sorry, best thing to do is go on a font generator website, type in the text you want and look at the different fonts available and then download it, it's easy, thank you ❤️

medium to fine is good, it doesn't matter too much, just not coarse.

Thanks, you can purchase a similar font and add it to your computer programs yes, but for personal use you can also go to a font generator and capture the words you want to use and then use these for free

I’ve always used this kind of white wood glue, it’s like PVA glue really, I often use this and then screw/nail together for larger pieces

If you google 'font generator' and type in your word you can see it in all different fonts and select one, this is something like 'great day' I can't remember the exact one. Enjoy your project

Yes I do, more thinner coats better than 1 thick, if in doubt if it's cheap paint then I sometimes add a bit of white craft glue into it, you really don't need very much of either. I then spray a craft varnish over the top at the very end once all is dry.

Hi, the wood I used was already quite smooth, if you sand it so it’s fairly smooth it’s easy to transfer the letters over and easier to paint, just depends which look you are going for
