1996 FATHER'S DAY my 16yr old stepson presented me of A framed portrait drawing of my favorite rapper DJ QUIK...I cried like A baby cause I didn't think he loved me like that.
@Fritzy Nesta🗣 yeahhh he's sooo garbage that Eazy wanted to sign him soo garbage that he produced fo eminem before, and Pac, there is even more a producer dat knows what he is talkin about when he raps fo me he is a role model I don't really care if your trollin or not I really wanted to say this👤 ohhh yeahh much love fritz tho
@@TheFinancialFrank bullshit...DJ Quik said himself that he helped Dre with the kicks and the claps on In Da Club. That's all.Dr.dre and Mike Elizondo co produced the song.
“ Life goes on, hit em up, how do you want it, all about you” All Eyez on me, thug passion, wonder why they call u bitch, picture me rolling, shorty wanna be a thug, run the streets, check out time, what’s ya phone number..just to name a few classic hits from All Eyez on me album that will never go soft... what I miss?
DJ quick funny as hell bruh, got me rolling dying laughing.. didn't know tha boy engineered "all eyez on me" that joint a masterpiece.. thanks for that one quick..
Charles Austin Hate has nothing to do with it bro. 🤦🏽♂️ Even if Quik was from NY most cats wouldn’t dig it because most here can’t relate to that sound. The same goes for dudes like E-40 and Suga Free. I think he’s (Quik) an incredible producer tho. Most dudes here bumped NWA, Snoop, Eiht (cmw), The Liks, Xzibit etc. Certain west artists were liked some we didn’t. It’s that simple.
Two Cents J Good music is good music though. How can people there like Snoop but not like Quik when it's almost the exact same music.I mean Quik wasn't respected as a lyricist so that might be a reason for the people who wanted top notch lyricism.I always thought his fans from New York were the people who supported rappers from the 80's era bcuz even though Quik was a gangsta he still was fun and lighthearted in most of his music
Charles Austin It’s hard to explain lol. I don’t think they are exactly the same. Maybe because in terms of production the people I named who got play in NY catered more to the NY sound. Breakbeats, chopping certain samples etc. Rhyme styles. Cube used the Bomb Squad on his first album. Beats me. lol. Snoop has always got play out here since his first album til now. It’s like I said some artists you connect with some you don’t. I go places like Texas, Oakland and Vegas and a artist like AZ wouldn’t be major there. I think you would agree AZ is nice and got classics under his belt so that’s just the way it is unfortunately.
I don't think Quik ever truly gets the credit that he deserves for being such a credible source of musicianship, and creation in this music industry. Past to present, Quik consistently brings out great music, whether he is presenting new talent, behind the mic, or behind the boards. A very well-rounded type of cat. A legend for sure. And he's made the kind of music that will outlast us all. I respect and appreciate that type of contribution to hip hop society bro. B easy homey... Jae-Smoove said it.
Safe + Sound, still one of my top 10 HipHop albums of all time. I've always liked Quik; cleaver ass lyrics, dope beats, and if you dissed this dude he would come back twice as hard. LEGEND.
I had the pleasure of working with Quik on that album and more. He is so fucking smart and such a great dude. To this day my favorite Hip Hop artist to work with. Much Love
I think it’s because he really is a genius, All his “talking” is done on those boards. He speaks through his music and his music speaks Volumes!!! Stay Blessed.
East Coast royalty right there. Finding Quik's music when I was 12 changed my life. I understand why Dr. Dre is a west coast legend. But It's disheartening to know how many people may not know the extent of impact that Quik has had on not only West Coast rap, but the rap/hip hop industry in general. A far reaching effect more than people can know.
Quik is the name was introduction to DJ QUIK. One of my favorite albums of all time. He stayed real to himself and now we see the dream come true. Much love and respect for DJ QUIK!!!!!
Quik is a legend one of the pioneers of rap. Back when he was rappin you had to have talent and work hard on your music and these legends show that hard work paid off. Their music still lives and people still listen to it man the 80's and 90's we was on
That wuz probably the best interview I seen this year!...bright conversations, little history bout 2nd II none!...his son DJ's 4 him!....both have good speaking voices!
Marsha Scott Marsha Scott Hahahaha Hahahaha I know right I could not possibly know How could I know about one of the greatest music producers ever and I’m not talking not just hip hop. He can actually play the instruments most these dudes are trying to sample or re create on a computer, that’s talent. But he also has always had very strong swag about his approach and delivery. It’s rare to get both. How many hip hop producers can play every instrument on their album? Plus Quik gave us some great albums and but ok, honestly Suga Free- Street Gospel changed my life and I’m forever grateful for his taking a chance on player from Pomona. Ya I must agree I don’t know thank for the reminder. Just saying
