The song is about Black American culture, the culture of a specific ethnic group. Vlad knew what the song was about and just wanted to say something negative about it.
I'm sure he's been shit on by the metal community for being black. I hope he would have put himself in Vlad's shoes and been at least a little sympathetic.
@@alexandermathews9710 Do you see any parallel between your argument and black folk in American sports? The sports all have white origins. Should black folks sit down and shut up because of that fact? I don't think so. Life is too short to think like that. Culture wars are used to divide and conchor us. Black people are more than welcome to be Folk or Classical artists. Anyone who says anything to the contrary does not deserve to have their opinions heard. Until someone finds a way to make a culture completely shut off to the public, and only viewed, commented and created by whoever they deem worthy, culture will be open-sourced.
Not a valid apology. He should've tagged Princeton in it for all the times he did in trying to get the professor reprimanded. Typical Karen behavior from him, which isn't a shock. I wish rappers would stop gossiping and "spilling tea" with him, but they won't, smh.
That lady was weird af for that comment but I’m not gonna die on that hill for no fkn Vlad 😂😂😂 F him. He was just sayin whatever spewing nonsense like a lot of Drake supporters were/are. If you gotta nitpick at the mixing during a rap beef that guy won 😂😂😂 literal grasping at straws. Take your victories where you can get em I guess.
Timing is everything. AND Sometimes it isn’t what you say, it’s how you say it. Vlad, like Drake, was unable to realize how much of a cultural moment is happening with this Kendrick situation. AND, the way she said what she was… she opened herself up to be attacked, in this era of getting people fired from campuses. I get what she was saying… BUT the way she said it, as a public figure connected to a university.. she set herself up for what he did. Could have written that more eloquently.
The professors comment was stupid, these artists has had white fans forever and everybidy can have an opinion on hiphop regardless .. that said, Vlad was a sensetive prick for going after her like that, he should have been a man and laughed it off.
Not liking beat and not liking mix is completely different Plus also beezy aint a culture vulture who weaponises his whiteness . If a nonVlad white said it i dont think there would be same push back
While it wasn't offensive to me, It was a dumb criticism about a diss track, I certainly don't think she was saying white people couldn't talk about this, seems more like she just doesn't respect Vlad and just had the time and decided to respond to him. But Vlad does not have the credentials to be speaking on this, he's a vulture who has been given too much prominence in the hip hop space and he wants to talk about mixing. Your lane is gossip dude. It's like Fabrizio Romano talking about football tactics, nobody cares what you think. Stick to what you know, which is drama.
She literally did say white people shouldn't talk about this though, can't go "nah I don't think she meant it that way" when she literally spelling it out exactly like it. If she'd said "no one wants your fucking opinion, Vlad" no one would've cared.
Vlad is always just trying to start unnecessary drama and its been annoying for at least a decade, as you guys said. Technically the mix could probably be better but literally why does it matter on a diss track he was probably trying to get out as soon as possible? It still slaps too.
15+ minutes 💩 on vlad? I’m here for it I wish they woulda brought up the difference in how he spoke to the professor vs how he spoke to bomani jones. Complete difference in tone
God, this comment section needs Myke's response comments ☠️. If you a fan of the culture, why you focusing on the mix instead of the contents of a diss. That was the spirit of her original tweet.
Okay, if you think the comment/critique was misguided that's fine. Race had nothing to do with that, plenty of black, white and candy stripe people were making tangential comments on the song. Attack his comment or him specifically. The professor made a huge mistake by brining race into it. I can't take anyone who defends her comments seriously. And yes, DJ Vlad is a clown, he has been forever. I haven't listened to one of his interviews in years but that's another issue/topic. Don't confuse the two.
@@taler8988 NO!! She called out a Culture Vulture directly with prejudice. And because he knew this, he responded by weaponizing white privilege. You saw in 4K what black people go through.
@@bruceleeds7988 you didn't respond at all to what I said... What was your point? I commented on how she brought race into it and shouldn't have. If she just wanted to call him out individually that would have been fine.
It’s a Rap battle between two insanely popular rappers. Vlod can comment on it if he wants. Where Vlod screwed up was by threatening her career. Vlod sunk to new lows with that and he gave ammunition to the people who feel that he’s a Culture Vulture. He went Full Karen. You never go Full Karen, you never even go Half Karen or Quarter Karen.
Switch the roles though. If a white person said to a black person you can’t speak about this because you’re black. They would lose their job tomorrow if their employer found out about it.
It is interesting that Vlad now has a bunch of different situations that pop up with him selfishly just trying to be relevant instead of just allowing people to tell their truth, similar to Adam 22. Like the tsu surf interview when Vlad kept asking him questions about his alleged shooting and surf would just give him troll answers. Or when you basically said if you play video games as an adult then you’re a loser, unless you’re making millions off of it. It’s just little situations that show he’s out for his own relevancy. Imagine having a difference of opinion on Twitter (go figure) and your first response is “let me try to get them fired” I HATE the fact that Michael Jae white is always on vlad
He simply spoke about the mix of a song by a black artist. And a black woman tells him he can’t cause he’s white… that’s racist. Saying he isn’t afforded the same right to speak on a topic (of which he has expertise in - mixing) because he’s white. Let’s not pretend that isn’t racist. Anyone can speak about anything, whether you listen is another thing.
This is so dumb. Imagine a woman speaking on their fears ,and I jump in talking some ignorant shit, and they say this is woman talk. Vlad just won't get some shit.
Talking about the mix of a song by a black artist if different than a woman speaking about their fears😂 and even then men can speak on women’s issues - it’s a free society, same as women can speak on men’s issues. Back to Vlad, the musics out there in the world, are white people just meant to not have an opinion on it? How is it ignorant to speak about a mix? Switch the scenario and say a white person told a black person they can’t speak about something cause it’s white culture… that would also be racist.
@@bruceleeds7988 you can still critique though can’t you? I’m not saying I agree with Vlad I know bugger all about mixing but enough people throw out their opinions needlessly why have a go at him?
Vlad didn't need to say what he said but this is not a "black affair" lol. That's dumb as hell. Vlad is annoying, but he's still part of HipHop culture.
I agree that the comment about the mixing is dumb af, especially when talking about a rap beef. I also don't like Vlad. But what does race have to do with this comment, I don't get it 🤔
Black Twitter was hot in the middle of dissecting Drake's "Slaves Freed" line, and how Kendrick paid homage to Atlanta. and here comes Vlad, telling us that a diss record, not an official single, that has a gazzillion streams in two days "Needs a better mix", it was just a hating ass dismissive comment that cut into a more important one.
There’s nothing wrong with it🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️. Mixing is a myth….xxxtentacion had a hit song with the worse mix of all time. It’s about the feeling, yall make people in the industry the standard. I hear nothing wrong.
@@HUNGRYFLOWER98i love you bro, you must be a mixing engineer because all of us know! THIS SHIT IS A MYTH, a MIX is a case by case basis, where you make certain decisions based upon the style of the record & its instrumentation, vibe and performance.
Why are we pretending that mixing isn't a crucial part of music production and enjoying a song? If I'm expecting a banger track, I want the mix to sound well. With that said, I don't really see much wrong with the mix at all. For some people, the violins panned to the right, may be weird. Especially for a hip-hop track where most stuff nowadays is mono. I get it. Why can't Vlad post his thoughts on that? Are we really that sensitive, especially to the point someone even has to comment "THIS IS A BLACK AFFAIR"? Like honestly stfu with that dumb shit. He ain't like the mix, who cares? What I will agree on is that Vlad didn't need to be petty enough to call up princeton and @ them. It's honestly weird he responded because I'm pretty sure he's heard this criticism before. Maybe like Drake, he's tired of being hip-hop's punching bag. Regardless, he should've kept his mouth shut after reading the comment.
Whole point of discussion wasnt the mix. If that woman relied that and vlad never responded noone would care. Its him weaponising whiteness to get black female out of job. Plus vlads had it coming for super long time
@@t-4579It wasnt just a black female though. It was a black female shutting him down for being white when the topic wasnt even about race to begin with.
@@EonSound Because he needed to be an authority on _something_ just so he could have something to say and then reacted like a crusty old white dude, which is why we don't want him in the convo in the first place.
Vlad made a comment about the mixing of a beat and she gets all defensive and brings race into a conversation that had nothing to do with race. I don’t like Vlad but Idc she’s tripping HARD
If you’ve ever advocated or supported someone getting fired from their job by contacting their employers because they had an opinion you disagreed with, then you can’t criticize Vlad for doing this corny shit.
I think inside Hip-hop there are two sides white interviewer one is Vlad, the other is Nardwuar. Where both of them could be considered as "feds", but one of them gets respect for asking silly questions.
People saying "what hes not allowed an opinion because hes white?" are missing the point completely, the whole conversation is going over your head. Look, if Rory, or DJ Vlad, or Fantano, or Brad Taste in Music, or Hivemind or any other white creators that cover rap want to to go on THEIR platform and speak to THEIR fans about THEIR opinions thats fine. But twitter is the town square, and Vlad coming out like the failed/not passionate DJ he is to say some dumb shit like "oh the mix was bad" is him just trying to leverage whatever cache he has from being a failed/not passionate DJ to make some critique that no one else of note was making at the time. Its not JUST that hes white, its the intersection of being white AND attention seeking publicly while black business is happening.
And thats the core issue right there. If the whole song and beef was just solely about race, you have a point. But it isn't. Just because its 2 black rappers, that dont make it "a black folk affair". That lady isnt stupid, she knows her words were disingenuously trying to paint him out to be a racist.
Vlad has been a culture vulture for the longest. Never understood why so many people are (were?) doing his interviews. She was being racist out of nowhere. Now we know Vlad is also a Karen.
The reason people still mess with vladtv, is because his interviews are like audio books, in term of people telling stories unlike other platforms who would just fluff around and be generic. Or like Nore who would interrupt the guest whenever he gets the opportunity to do so. Plus there's no evidence that Vlads interviews sent people to jail. But ey the narratives are forever entertaining
What the lady said was racist, i'm not a fan of Vlad but, still. And he was right about the mix of 'Not Like Us' Drake's mixing were top notch while K Dot's sounds like rushed.
don't nobody give a fk about mixing in a rap beef😂. as a black american, if there's something going on between 2 latinos, asians, etc, and there's cultural stuff mentioned, it's a good idea not to put my head into it. Plus like they mentioned, its Vlad😂
@@kxngmuzikig2417ain’t nothing wrong with saying a mix could’ve been better. Has nothing to do with race. Vlad was outta line with the stuff after that but there nothing wrong with his initial comment.
@@jaleelthompson927 and I agree. But his comment is not racist. It ain’t white people stuff. If I say a mix ain’t up to par, now I’m white? Get that silly sh*t outta here.
