When I saw the GoPro camera spinning (stupid, high-altitude flight), once it hit the ground (I promised myself I wouldn’t do this, but alas, I must), instead of hitting a child, playing in their front yard, I was morbidly drawn to this guys channel. Either he has more money than he needs, or he is a masochist. AND, since I am already on my soapbox - brother, I really hope you missed nights of sleep, with insomnia, thinking of how catastrophic your actions could have been. Your attempt, at justifying your actions, were just that; an attempt. I think you were trying to convince yourself, because your attempts at that justification were juvenile, and unintelligent. If you also hold other part pilots licenses, I would question your ability to make sound decisions. In fact, if you were a pilot, you wouldn’t have done what you did, as you would hopefully have better Critical-Thinking and Logic skillsets. To your point, Brett. This guy has over 17k subscribers. KristianJonsson Tanken var ju bland annat att testa just det, men på grund av den oväntade kraschen i början hade kameran redan trillat av, så jag får testa det i ett kommande försök.

***** Thanks for the launch schedule! Unfortunately I left Florida just a couple of days before the launch on January 6. I will definitely check that schedule before going there next time.

+RadRich imo the risk isnt higher then 50% because now youre paying 600 for it. maybe if you had the dji inspire which is around 3500 bucks it would be worth.

It's not expensive if you just bought a 4000 dollar drone

Tim Wiley Actually, I am currently testing the slightly larger parachute from Mars Parachutes, called Mars 58. Hopefully the video will be online within a month or so.

Stefan Ekstam I must say that your vid has inspired me to incoporate the chute into a new quad built around it like a ejection pod of sorts saving quad from major damage. Keep inovating, you will come up w/ improvements for shock asorbing landing gear.

Geoff Captain Not that difficult really. You just fold it up, roll the lines around it, and put it back into its compartment.

+Slamdoxicalz I immediately switched to atti mode and waited for a couple of seconds since I thought it was a GPS problem, but it didn't help, and then it crashed. If I had switched to manual mode and flipped the right joystick I might have been able to save it.

+Stefan Ekstam Now I watch it for a second time it seems to be happening way too fast to save it anyway, ah well. Was the actual test now with the gimbal disconnected or removed entirely?

TheKeithvidz It's actually the same hexacopter in all videos. It's been repaired a few times, and it's still going strong.

Good to hear. I guess warranty or you repair yourself. Have an eye on phantom 2 in fact. Here in Trinidad can provide a good setting.

It was too close to the ground, the parachute wouldn't have had the time to unfold properly.
