DJI Goggles Integra vs. Goggles 2 and V2. Real world FPV drone pilot's perspective

Which DJI goggles are right for you? Here's my take:
Goggle Integra 👉 full O3 system quality & resolution on a budget
Goggles 2 👉 full features (including some you don't need) at a premium price
Goggles V2 👉 still great goggles and best value if you're running Vistas and original Air Units
* The only deal breaker of the Integra's for me personally is the non-removable antennas. I'm happy to live with all the other compromises.

I'll take the V2's over the Integra's any day. The V2 is slightly more heavy compared to the Integra but it doesn't bother me and in my opinion that's the only real benefit the Integra has over the V2. The O3 system with the V2 looks phenomenal and I can still fly with my analog drones as well with them. The V2 is much more comfortable and the removable antenna's are great as well. DJI made the V2 so good that even 3 years later it still competes with the Integra with all of it's new features. That's probably the reason why they won't sell the V2's because I think most people would still pick the V2 over the Integra goggles.

I have the goggles 2, V2, and OG. I have truerc antenna's (singularity) on my V2 and stock on my Goggles 2 and yet my goggles 2 get better reception. I get further out before it drops bitrate. The goggles 2 feel more like flying with my old fatsharks where the V2 feel more like the old box theater goggles. I can't say I prefer one over the other as far as that but the G2 is lighter weight and less cumbersome. The G2 does fog up more often in my experience. The main reason for me to retire my V2 is compatibility. In order for the vista and old air unit to be able to display betaflgiht osd you have to have either wtfosd installed or you can get it natively with the latest dji firmware. However, the latest firmware on vista/og air will not work with goggles v2. So basically before I was going back and forth with goggles v2 (with wtfos) for the vista/og air and goggles 2 for the o3 quads. This is a pain. You also can't broadcast between them. So, I am breaking down and buying the integra's to go with my goggles v2. This way I can stay on official dji firmware and broadcast to friends/family for ride alongs.

They removed the sensor that was inside the goggles as well The micro SD where they are on the Goggles 2 is just fine. I don't get why people complained so much about the touch sensor. It takes a little getting use too, but it isn't that bad at all once you adjust to it. I like the touch pad, I think they are pretty cool. Touch pad or joystick I probably would have gotten use to either one. They removed the channel that gets displayed on the side on these Integra Goggles as well. You can get a similar head band I am sure real soon just like the Goggles Integra. My vision isn't 20/20 and knowing I can just do a quick adjustment on my Goggles 2 and hand them to a friend that has 20/20 and he can see perfectly through my goggles like me is a real plus! I love my Goggles 2. I do wish DJI would offer a simple connector that plugs into the USB-C port where your phone goes to give you the Remote ID option for everyone that owns the Goggles v2 and the Goggles 2. Other than that, I'd rather keep my Goggles 2 hands down.

I use V1s for my vistas. I use the Iflight antenna/patch and it fits in my bag w/out taking out the stubbies. I'm going integra on my O3s but have been using V2s. They're heavy and O3s use dual band so the stock antennas are better than the aftermarket. They just don't fit in the bag and break pretty easy. My main gripe is the O3 quad I have I crash a lot. I find myself too late on the throttle and bounce off the ground. Looking forward to the battery and the weight.

I have G2's and really like them. The adjustable diopter is important to me as is the ability to swap antennas. My biggest complaint is that they didn't include a GPS which forces US users to fly Avata with your phone attached running the Fly app for RID compliance. Also not terribly happy that they implemented that so soon and bundled it with 10-bit color but that's the only issue I have with them. I almost went with the V2 combo but wanted the higher resolution and smaller size. I personally wouldn't want the Integras because of the lack of diopter adjustment and non-removable antennas. It's great that there are as many options out there that there are. I have a set of HDZero goggles shipping soon and plan to add a WS vrx to them so will have the best of all worlds eventually
@colibrifpv

Sounds like a great setup Larry! Too bad you have to pair your phone every time to fly the Avata. I was really close to pre-ordering the HD Zero goggles but I ended up spending that goggle money on a few shiny new O3 air units... I am pretty invested in the DJI system now but I may end up with the HD Zeros sometime in the future to use as analog goggles and to try out the digital competition.

@colibrifpv
@colibrifpv 6 месяцев назад
Yes, I should have mentioned that... if RID compliance is important to you, you should definitely go with the Integras. DJI replaced G2 with Integras partially for that reason, the integrated GPS, so when RID came into effect they stated shipping Integras with the FPV drone instead of the G2's for example. RID was not in effect when I made this video and it's not a thing where I live, but it's a big issue right now for hobbyists in the US so thanks for pointing it out!

@colibrifpv
@colibrifpv Год назад
If you are using only O3 air units or the DJI Avata, I would recommend the Goggles Integra. They are a little more refined and ready for market and the only disadvantage for me is the removable antennas. If you use old gen air units I would recommend the V2's or G2, because those systems use LHCP antennas and the V2's have the ability to swap out the omni antennas, which are designed for the O3 air unit, for LHCP ones, which will give better results with the original air units.

For me, proper fit was hands down the deciding factor. The older style goggles didn't fit me well, allowing quite a bit of light to leak in from the sides. I know it wouldn't be practical, but surely they are just typical antenna connectors to the board on the inside. Im sure that you can just take the Integras apart, remove the stock antennas, run a ipex/ufl(or whatever it is inside of the goggles) to sma adapter out the holes where the integra antennas went, and then just design basic 3d printed tpu mounts for the adapters. Even if they're soldered directly, you could still just solder a normal adapter on there. I recommend the Integra's for use with the Avata. I can see the advantages for a camera quad needing to see what a 16:9 FOV is showing to record it, but for FPV coming out of a loop, etc the wait time to see the ground or a treetop is way too long compared to a 4:3 FOV. The 16:9 format is designed and therefore great for watching movies with a fixed horizon controlled by the movie director, but when flying FPV your need to see up and down which is often far more important than seeing left to right. An FPV cam and goggle screen needs to match the natural FOV Nature gave us for a reason when walking and running on the ground... take to the air and it's even more important as now we can go up and down and need to see in both directions to avoid an impact where a tree in the woods will make a noise just like a rock will even if you don't hear it.

It will be ready to bind to the new Goggles. It just won't work through the software. I had issues with binding when I 1st purchased my Avata with the Goggles 2 and I had to contract DJI to have them explain that to me. Hope that helps!

The goggles2 need to be plugged into your phone to verify ID and the integras have id verification with its own built in gps and because the Integra has on-board gps it has alot more potential for future tech

Right on about this, and that RID compliance is probably why the released the integras so soon after the G2...

That's good to know, maybe it's not an issue, i just noticed that it was moved from outside to inside the goggles on the Integras.

@@Fly_High_FPV Seriously, I was planning to sell my V2's once I got my Integras but now I'm regretting the purchase a little bit. If I could do it over again, or if I were in the market for DJI goggles right now, I would seriously just grab a (second) set of V2's refurbed direct from DJI for $300 on their eBay store. Best deal going and they are destined to sell out and become sought after down the road...

That one above on Amazon totally did it for me, it's like smashing your face into a teddy bear, with virtually no light leak Now, for my Integra's it's a different story, I just can't find a good foam. I got one from RDQ and it's literally trash, worse than the original!

Dude that is the ultimate foam. I had already ordered that foam from a different vendor during our conversation. It took a while to massage into place, but now it's perfect blackness and very comfy. Thanks for the info.@@colibrifpv

I agree, the entire screen can be focused, the antennas can be swapped out, and you have a video in for your analog quads...

If the reception is good on the Goggles 2, maybe you don't need 3rd party antennas. I have been using them over the past week or so and have had 0 reception problems. I agree about the plastic lenses. I hope glass inserts become an option.

Hi Alan, so far, I definitely don't feel the need for any 3rd party antennas, reception with the Integra's is superb, and as much as I love my G2 still, it gets harder and harder to use them the more I use the Integra goggles, which are like half the size and weight...

Hmm,... I think the wifi streaming is only "to" the goggles, not from. And even that is really a pain. I couldn't stream from Windows to the goggles due to some incompatibilities. You really have to hold your tongue right. It definitely ain't chromecast.
