DJI Lose Patent Dispute with Autel. The END for DJI Mavic Drones? V2 

I lined up my pockets full of the Mavic line...Mavic 2 Pro, Mavic 2 Zoom, Mavic Air 2 and Mavic Mini. Already making the move for another Mavic Air 2! But I'm still considering on getting a Autel Evo II!

I think if this case had any legs, DJI would of had a cease and desist a long time ago. The patient description is so vague, its virtually impossible to not avoid infringing it.

Holy Jesus-Just got my MA2. Damn, it's awesome. I'm wondering if there will be a blackout on buying MA2 Accessores, i.e. props, batteries and Carrying cases. 2020 is a real downer.

...just want to say I have the spark, the Maverick Pro and my phantom 3. I love DJI and I will not buy autel! You can say what you want but DJI has the best drones on market. Happy Flying!

Neither DJI or Autel has the inventions, those things are way earlier than those two companies. Some Patent lawsuits are ridiculous.

DJI quiet props fit right on my evo 1

Your audio is messed up at the beginning, when you are doing the dates. My opinion on this matter is Autel is being greedy,, we as americans should buy what we like. If I want to buy an Autel I want the choice to buy one. This is really bad news for all the DJI fans, the autel is more expensive, and have had major horizon issues. It's been better with a new engineering team but still, they are just trying to remove the choice from us instead of making a product we want to buy.

Competition is good. Autel should license it's patent idea and make money from every DJI drone sold instead of allowing them to be excluded from the market.

It seems DJI saw this coming. They seem to have fixed the prop patent issue on the Air-2. This is why the Air-2 has the strange ability to mis-mount the WRONG direction props onto the wrong motor. I'm told it was not allowed to have the "markings" that tell the pilot which prop goes where. LOL...So it "seems" the Air-2 is safe!

DJI will pay Autel’s court costs and an IP licensing royalty on a per unit produced basis, including a statement printed on all boxes to the effect “Contains technology licensed from Autel” or some such.

Mavic air 2 has a different design for props. DJI was expecting to loose this case so they already had made the change. Also this ban can be overturned. It is not done yet

Autel are ahead of the game. Its not so much competing with DJI. How can it be when DJI steal Autels designs? DJI do hold the market share. But that's because they got to the party first and have capitalised on it ever since. But look. At the end of the day, who cares what bade your drone wears? DJI will buy Autel out of the market, close them down and forget that this was ever a thing. Maybe this is Autels plan, provoke DJI to pay them a lot of money for the company.

DJI will probably swallow Autel. It's like the patent dispute between Wright Aviation (the Wright Brothers) and Curtiss aviation. It cost less for Glenn Curtiss to buy the company than to pay the settlement. That's how Curtiss-Wright was formed (they still exist today).

Are Autel parts all coming from USA ?? Hope so for them .. China could refuse to sell them the parts they need to build who knows .. they should just get some money for their prop idea on each sale instead of going to "war" with them.

This did not have the updated info on how the patent review board threw out most the claims as they are designs that are not patentable because they are too generic

You say you like competition yet this company filing against a great drone company is in NO POSITION to do anything except cause us the consumer to suffer. There are enough drone companies out there. This one is only after causing trouble. DJI should pay them off (shut them up) so us the consumer can keep getting great products from a reputable company

The Chinese have always infringed on copyright issues before! Autel should just make a better drone and let the consumers make the decisions with their pocket books!!!!

Love both company's drones, but rely on my EVO over my P4P's and Mavic 2 Pro when operating inside Chicago's Midway airport Class C airspace. I've had too many instances where I secured LAANC approval only to have my DJI drones refuse to unlock the Geo-Fencing and wasted a day and even lost a few paying jobs. I have the EVO 2 Pro coming next week and can't wait. And for the folks that think that Patents mean nothing or are no big deal, over 2.4 million people in the US and around the world DIRECTLY have lost their jobs since 2014 when Chinese companies stole their company's patents and brought competing products to market at a lower cost and before the host company. These host companies have had to close of layoff workers or close as a result. DJI and hundreds of thousands of Chinese companies and government operators scour the US Patent office and others around the world every minute of every day and try to find their next product to hijack. It has been their business model for 20 years. The minute the Autel patents were filed that's exactly what DJI did. With better funding they moved to take advantage of Autel's Tech before Autel could even get their idea to market. It's not in the Tech field, but 15 years ago my mother - a doll maker specializing in "Father Christmas" hand-made one of kind dolls in Pennsylvania had 5 of her newly created designs stolen by a company in China who then started mass producing cheap knock-off versions to be sold in Macy's and other US stores. They even stole her Foil logo that my artist sister designed. It all started when a company called "Oriental Trading Corp" sent people around to all the High End Artisan Craft shows one year on the east coast and they took pictures of all the artist's work. Within months identical works start showing up in stores everywhere. It didn't matter that my mother had her works copyrighted and trademarked, they just take what they want. Again I love DJI drones but I'm happy that someone with more money than my mother can finally force a Chinese company to finally pay up!

DJI has been number one for years plus autel evo 2 moves when you dont want it to move ads its controller is just bad and you can buy mavic air 2 almost for 3 times less the price and also some people say mavic 2 pro takes better pictures dji will be number one for a long time

Well.. actually Autel didn’t invent the quick connect props either .. they were originally patented by a Canadian drone company and Autel “bought” the patent from that company.

Patents globally, need a serious review as to how fit for purpose they are. Yeah Patents have their place, but so often they work against innovation and consumers best interests.

Autel robotics copied the phantom with the xstar and copied the mavic pro with the EVO and now are bitching about DJI using the same type of propeller mounts lol DJI will fight back and win . ahhhhhh, I can hear you perfectly again ... and not such strange way before this afternoon. Autel will make money selling dji the licence to use the patent and then we have to pay more for the next dji product until dji punch autel back. Autel might win a bit of money but loose customer respect and any chance to grow with their products performance cause my memories are bad, worse if I remember that evo pro 1 or so that was delivered delayed by month and even then with a bad performance. Autel is definitely not better than dji ...

Evo II: Colour scheme awful, but aerodynamics don't look that different from Mavic range and firmware updates should cure any trembles? Footage looks superior to MII Pro as well. I will not buy any more DJI products; they are way overpriced but main reason is you qualify to use the drone for varied commercial use and then the bloody thing refuses to fly because you're on the edge of a control zone trying to look at a 10 foot roof. Thank you all you utter morons who have mucked it up for responsible fliers! AND new DJI app for remote ID gives any punter a homing signal to your position or to lodge a complaint so the authorities arrive at your door with a 'duty' to check your flight data - who in their right mind would put up with that? REALLY?!

They are, technically, an “American company”, but they are owned by Autel Intelligent Technology in China 😂 so all are the same DJI, Autel... all are owned by China in the end because they have the technology and cheap component.
