Hey dylan, from my limited legal knowledge, this is hardly the final result, DJI could appeal and drag this out for years....

What's amazing is that this made it to court. Usually see these things settled well in advance.

Struggled to get through this one, if it hadn’t been for the content I would have jacked it in, the sound over was awful.

I have an air two and a autel evo. Hate how its wifi. The dji has a better connection

They are both Chinese owned companies as far as I’m aware. I wonder if the judge knew?

DJI should just buy Autel and get it over with.

Aloha Dylan, At InterDrone Sept, 2016 GDU told me they had their folding drone tech copied by DJI but could not afford to litigate against their huge resources. How does DJI get out of this? Buy Autel? Or just pay them a huge sum? If I was Autel I'd consider either because as I understand it, their main market is the US as they do not have the required certification to sell in Europe.

Very Interesting Kevin... but makes you wonder why Autel waited till now, 4 years later to file a legal challenge? Pretty sure if I had 30 patents granted, I would know the ins and outs of every possible competitive breach. Otherwise why take out a patent?!! And if the patent only applies to the USA, it makes you wonder how DJI head office missed it, and more specifically, how DJI’s HQ in the US didn’t pick up on it being responsible for knowing their local market. Would be great to see DJI’s response to this assuming they have been given a date to file an official appeal. Could it be the first case of an American business beating a Chinese entity? Shame they haven’t just made a hands down better product to beat them properly. Black market DJI here we come. As if “Drones” need a worse reputation. Great Vid. I live in the UK like you so where do we buy our Autel Evo / Evo II? Exactly, we can't officially without importing one and not having any warranty. Autel aren't playing the same sport as DJI let alone playing in the same ballpark. Don't get me wrong, good on Autel for winning this dispute and I would have bought an Autel Evo in a breath if I could but seriously they're just not a world wide player.

DON'T PANIC!!! Before you bore yourself silly watching this, there have been some major changes. Autel was never clever enough to patent anything, all they ever did was copy DJI products right from the start, and now, in the inevitible appeal, most of their patent claims have been ruled out.

Love the videos. But can you please say "Patent" instead of "Paintent". Paintent is not a word in any English speaking language that I'm aware of... But of course, I could be wrong. :)

Great and informative video. I hate Dji. They are up there with Apple as far as I'm concerned. I hope this hurts dji and gives everyone a serious competitor to there drab and same quad that they churn out year after year

Click bait. You obviously don't know anything about patent law. DJI will be around long after Autel files for bankruptcy. These things get drawn out in the appeals process for years. Autel Robotocs is already on the brink financially and that's why they have resorted to a lawsuit over all things, a propeller locking mechanism? C'mon bro.

I think this is a continuation of the war against China for AI dominance, as currently, China is winning the battle and this just throws a spanner in the works.
