I couldn't find any instructions on charging my controller, I think I figured it out and used one of the cables with a usb connector, I kept it on the charger until it lit up 4 lights solidly. BTW, I'm going to turn 71 y/o tomorrow, June 19, 2020 and this is my first time with a DJI Mavic Mini so, any pointers anyone would like to share with me will be greatly appreciated. I'm subbed and left a thumbs up, I also clicked on the bell in hopes of seeing more of your videos on this Mavic Mini. Thank's again for sharing.

Dustin, I have a question and maybe need some advice. I currently have the M2P & FIMI X8 SE. The FIMI X8 SE I got for my 18yr old son and I use the M2P. Anyways, the stability in the air is just so much better with the M2P and I like the UI better on the M2P as well...anyways, I’m contemplating selling the FIMI X8 SE and getting my son the MavicMini. My only concern is no active track for the MM. What’s the likelihood you think DJI comes out with an update with active track for the MM? The Drone already does “some” tracking in the quickshots (you can move and it will follow you on some of these). That’s the only thing holding me back on switching from FIMI X8 SE to MM for my son. He has some uses for the tracking and needs that.

Thanks for the Mavic Mini Series videos! Very informative! I actually just bought one last night and can't wait to get flying! I do have one question though: How ON EARTH did you accomplish plugging this in correctly on the first try ( 9:10 )? It usually takes the average human 8 or 9 tries.

Worth mentioning as soon as you put those propeller guards on, which would be great for indoors, it will put the mini over 250g and if flying outside, needs to be registered with the FAA in the States...

Referring to the carry case and 3 x batteries. It looks as though there are 3 notches in the case to carry the 3 batteries in without the charger or would you just carry them inside the charger in the case?

Question, are you able to hop on a flight with this sort of stuff? I am sure you can't pack them in your checked bags but do they blow a gasket if you try to carry this in via hand baggage?

I've taken my Mavic 2 and Mavic Air flymore combos on a few planes with 6 batteries and they checked them once and let them go.

I have traveled with my Spark. My home airport just let it go through inside a hard case inside my backpack. Other airports have required it to be taken out of my backpack as you would a laptop. Technically you could put the drone in your checked baggage but extra batteries must be in your carry-ons.

Wanted this, but saw a mavic pro for £400 on amazon warehouse. looked all brandnew so i bought some batteries a case a charging hub and some other bits. paid about £500 now and very happy.

I have a spark, but I am feeling like id like more flight time, I do not care that much about having a camera thats better than 1080p, as my monitor at home is 1080p anyways. Could you reccomend me somthing that gets more flight time than my spark, but still uses my dji RE goggles? Been watching a lot of ypur videos and the mini seems like it would work for that just wondering if theres anything better.

Do you enjoy the fpv goggles? I've never tried them with a drone and also makes me nervous to try when I cannot see the drone. That being said I think they would be great when using a spotter to inform me of anything critical in line of sight.

@@theirrigationdude honestly its the best way to fly anything in my opinion. Your phone battery doesnt get drained, theres no screen glare from the sun. As for not wanting to hit stuff, just fly above 100ft and clear everything youd hit, I fly up to the tallest object around and then go up as high as it is, then add 20 ft to my RTH height above that and then dont worry about it. Maybe if you live in a city with huge buildings you cant do that though... honestly rn you can get the dji goggles that only work with dji stuff for like 150 of you just wana try it, the RE that work on anything though are twice that.

I don’t have the goggles but I have a Spark and I was thinking the same as you so I bought an original Mavic Pro. You can get them for a good price sometimes. I agree with you on the 1080p I only shoot in 1080p because I have nothing to view 4K and my computer isn’t powerful enough to edit in 4K.

You can just boot it up and fly without any device if you've already activated it. Both sticks in and down to start motors after it gets GPS lock (give it a minute before you fly) 🍻

Very impressive range test on Mavic Mini, if you could mod that battery successfully, I'd be curious to see just how far the controller range yields as I would recommend using the parabolic dish antenna enhancement for a modded range test.

When I ordered the fly more spark it took the standard 5 days to get delivered, I think people with the long wait just ordered when they ran out of stock and its just saying up to 30 days, when it wont actually take that long.

Dustin, about the battery mod I suggested before... Did some research, maybe 36G is not the best choice because it is prone to overheating. Maybe it would be better to go with LG equivalent, or just use good old Samsung's 30Q - they have a bit less capacity, but their discharge power is excellent. You will probably need the flat top, unprotected version. Also, if I may suggest... When disconnecting the original cells from pcb, keep it powered from another source. That may help to trick anti-tampering protection DJI might have in place (it is not a panacea, but it will reduce chance of killing the battery permanently). Again, looking forward with much anticipation. Thank you.
