Let me know your experiences, challenges and successes with your gimbal, I’d love to hear them. Also what videos would you like to see next, either gimbal or photo/video related? Happy shooting, All the best, Age
Having just got my gimbal, I’d like to understand more about ‘why and when’ to use the different follow modes. Are there any quick go to rules? I’m having some success but it’s more down to luck, than anything at the moment 😂
Thanks very much i was experimenting and just knew there was more than just what it showed upfront but you brought it right to life for me because i want to create longer stories and now i can great video thanks very much well dont. Dave
I don't think I can thank you enough for this video!!! I purchased the DJI OM 4 to create almost 200 videos for my small business and I was desperate to find a way to create them easily, as I want them to be. So with that, you saved me hundred hours of work. I wish there was a way to create the same stories in portrait mode for my socials, a shame that they didn't add this feature already. Anyway thank you again for this great tutorial \o/
Great video thanks a lot. I have a question... can I change words/text that came with done Story Templates or just add words/text if I create my own template?
thx a lot! i have a question, how i can add a custom gimbal movements to my own story like in the "Lively, pan cut action" template (fast video switch) ? I like this movement but it is not on the list of "custom gimbal actions"
Hello! Thanks for the video. It helped me a lot. I ask you a question, is it possible to record in "story" mode but for instagram stories (9:16), not horizontal as the gimbal is turned?
hi and thanks for your comments. Yes as long as you record in portrait mode the movie will be in 9:16. if you add any landscape though it will be 16:9. for mixed content try CapCut, that allows a crop, I have 2 tutorials on caplet and its free
Hi, is there a possibility where I can adjust That the beginning is fast and than it turns to slow motion? I mean in one short clip with 3 or 4 seconds 😁 thank you for this helpful Video 🤗
you would need to split the clip first, then apply the slow mo to the second part. Or use capcut - a free editor that has speed ramps, I have videos on that on my site
Hi Paul, I believe lightcut is made by filmora, and I know they are good. I haven't used that particular programme but I'm pretty certain you'll be able to use the same kind of functions.
@@vmanuel86 I just tried: as I am using the lasted version of the DJI app I installed this week I was hoping it would work. I do have the possibility to save my template in portrait... but it doesn't appear in my templates when I want to create a new story using it. That's a shame: as Instagram, TikTok, and now even Pinterest want portrait videos they should add this feature.
When i try yo edit my videos on the Mimo app it keeps taking me to Lightcut editing app, why is this. Can't seem to edit in the Mimo app for some reason.
Thank you for this. It was very helpful. I do have a question. The only options for rendering the final video seem to be 720 and 1080p which look fine on the cell phone but becomes terribly pixelated on a computer. Is there any way to export the video in 4k or in enough resolution for viewing on a monitor?
hi Kim, thanks for your comments. There is currently no 4k render available. I am surprised though that you are getting pixelated footage, is the whole video like this or just parts of it? Are you zooming in when filming or editing - this will reduce quality and could be the problem
@@LiquidErf I used the iPhone 11 Pro set to 4K 30 recording and filmed either at 0.5 or 1.0. I then used the Mimo app editor to make the film from the clips as you demonstrated in your tutorial.
@Liquid Erf. The film I made is not usable for computer viewing which I need for a project I am working on. Is there another software application similar to the Mimo app and is easy to use that splices clips and adds transitions plus music and renders in4k?
@@kimdavidson8020 yes, use iMovie, this is excellent and free - it’s built into your iPhone. As long as at least 1 4K video is added then you can export in 4K. To export a completed movie in 4K, open iMovie - choose your project - press the share icon (box with up arrow). IMPORTANT, choose the ‘options’ at the top just below the title - select 4K - tap done - Then ‘save video’. It will be added to your camera roll in the normal way as 4K. Hope that helps. Let me know how you get on.
Not sure why the template is not saving, I’d reach out to DJI support. I occasionally get the vibrations but just rebalance and use the calibration to solve it.
Thanks Eugene, thank you, comments like this keep me motivated :) Let me know how you get on. I have another video on the mimo editing very soon - using AI to crate a super quick movie using one of your templates - or a built in template.
Is there a way to save a version of a video, and then go back to edit it? Is draft the only way? If you've already saved it (as I did), is there any way to go back to editing mode? I really appreciate all the tips! Here is my biggest challenge - I bought this gimbal mainly because I need to do close-up videos of my products, and from different angles - from about a few inches to a foot and a half, couple feet. My footage is still a little shaky, even with the gimbal. 😞 (I just used follow, with trigger locked - active track doesn't really work at such close range). Any tips and tricks for properly using the DJI OM4 for close range video would be MOST appreciated! Thank you 🙏
Hi Lisa, I use the iphone, for Android the details might be slightly different. As long as you have selected 'save as draft' you can go back and re-edit. Method: Press the +editor icon as usual - Then Top right is a little drawer icon, this is your drafts. If you open a draft and edit you can press done and then resave the amended draft - the original draft will no longer be available though. Also beware - if you open a draft and use the back arrow (i.e.make no edits/amendments) you MUST choose 'save and exit', if you choose 'Exit without Saving' the draft will be removed all together and you will no longer have access to the draft. Close ups are a challenge because small movements are more noticeable. Couple of things come to mind, try filming in slo motion for moving shots, this hides the wobbles. If you're just moving in or out (or for stationary shots) I would shoot in 4k on a tripod then zoom in and out in an editor instead, then save as HD - the 4k gives you room to zoom in/out without sacrificing HD quality. As the mimo editor only has HD and not 4k editing you will need to use another editing app. imovie (apple) and windows movie maker (android) are free and have 4k editing. Out of interest what sort of products and what camera are you using?
@@LiquidErf Thanks for the tips! I use an iphone Xs Max, I also use a Macbook Pro. Using slow motion has given me some better shots. I've been too busy this week to experiment with making a good video, but hopefully I will get a chance. It would be very helpful if I could make some quick, nice looking videos of my products to go onto social media. My products are vintage and antique textiles - I need to get close to show details and textures. Also I like to bring the viewer in with a bit of movement, make it a more interesting experience - hence the gimbal. But it's tough to learn things when you're busy! So I really appreciate your videos - lots of valuable info, without having to wade through lots of bells and whistles.
@@lisasmith5580 well you have a good set up Lisa, i'm sure you'll get the shots you need when you get the chance. Let me know how you get on, I'd be interested.
@@LiquidErf getting on slowly, but your advice was very good, especially about the slow motion. Is there a way to adjust color in the DJI Mimo app? I can’t find it, if there is. If you’re interested, here is my latest 20 second endeavor on Instagram. I wish I could have adjusted the color. As to filmmaking, lol, I need an entire course! instagram.com/p/CLfShgvFing/?igshid=1x66rrhhhf67s
Hello, I have a problem with the custom stories. I am using the DJI OM4 with my Android phone. Everything that I will shoot with mimo app (Photos, Videos, Timelapses, Stories with the existing templates) will be stored where all photos and videos are stored without a problem. But if I shoot a custom storie eventhough it says that it was stored localy I cant find the video file anywhere. I can see the video as a preview on the custom template that I created after shooting the storie but I cant find the video file anywhere. Do you think you know what is causing this issue ?
no probs you're welcome - you might like the video I've just uploaded - its creating instant movies with the AI Editor which analyses you selected clips and matched them to a template. thanks for taking the time to comment All the best,
